  • @annuaki2006

    and Tina Turner.

  • I can't stand the rain ~ that's why I stand under my Umbrella, ella ~ ella ~ eh, eh, eh!! ; )

  • love this wen i was a kid from robotruss

  • What have blacks got against rain? Is it a hot Africa thing? You have these, Ann Peebles and Seal all singing this.

  • fantastic!!!!

  • I love this song , have to dance every time I listen , Great Music , Precious Wilson sings this song so Seductive with a bBeautiful voice , Great band .

  • what a voice sha had, that precious Precious Wilson!

  • The original, by Ann Peebles, was very good. Eruption (lead singer, Precious WIlson), probably because their arrangement contained a lot more energy, made the tune a major hit. After that, if you do a search for the song, you'll find good versions by Ann Peebles, Seal, Tina Turner, and, surprisingly, a teenager named Sara Niemietz. In all cases, these are arrangements of a good song; must everyone post-piss about which version they prefer?

  • i first heard this on a saturday night radio show called "dangerous disco" around 1993.

i thought a man sang this.

  • ..pelle d'oca........

  • Hi. Thanks for the upload. It reminded me how LAME this "disco" version was, compared to the original Ann Peebles recording. That repetitious "popcorn" keyboard riff gave me the s*!ts back then, as it does now! I have to say, Ann's version was far more "black" than this P.O.S. band's version, three or so years earlier. Eruption's version sounds soooo "white"!!

  • @RettroDood ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!?!?! THIS WAS THE ONLY VERSION!!! THIS WAS SO POPULAR IT WASN'T EVEN FUNNY. THE VERSINO BY ANN PEEBLES IS ORIGINAL BUT, YOU'VE GOT TO BE CRAZY TO CALL THIS LOUSY CRAP. ALSO, THIS DOESN'T SOUND "WHITE." YOU'RE OBVIOUSLY NON-WHITE AND RACIST!!! A LOT OF PEOPLE HAS SAID THAT ABOUT A LOT OF DISCO. DON'T TALK BAD ABOUT DISCO. TALK BAD ABOUT GANGSTA RAP AND HIP SCHLOP! LOOK AT THE YOUTH OF TODAY AND SEE HOW GHETTO THEY ARE BECAUSE OF IT.

    AL SANCHEZ

  • @lefreak79 I AM white, but NOT racist. My appraisal was purely from a musical perspective, Ann Peebles was (is) Black, And her version oozed soul! This version sounds lame and "white" to my ears. (Probably due to white producers in the day)...

Don't get me wrong, a LOT of disco was funky beyond belief. Disco Inferno, Mothership connection (a bit earlier), War, etc.. But I stand by my convictions, This was a bad remake. Not a soulful/funky tinge to it. Not even the vocals!

    Cheers.

  • @RettroDood

You don't need "Soul" in every song in order for it to cut the mustard. A lot of Disco didn't necessarily have Soul but had great production and a slickness that sometimes would fly over the so called "soul" versions. This version was so well-produced and incredible in sound and depth. But, to each his own -- CHEERS!

    DISCO AL

  • hmm I thought eruption had more solo's....

  • It would have been so easy for them to remake this song as a 4x4 disco track (which was massive at the time), but they took the harder route. Great verision of this Ann Peebles song - Tina Turner did a mighty fine version of it as well.

  • Uhhh Klasse klasse :) DK

  • gorgus lady // awsome great voice ///........ great song .

  • Lol....I haven't heard this song in over 30 years. It's not on any of the oldie station playlists...ever.

  • The lead singer's name is Precious Wilson. I was never a great fan and anyone who admitted to liking Eruption or Boney M got laughed at in the late 1970s. I seem to recall this was a cover of an earlier song

  • @overner2001

It was originally done as a ballad by Ann Peebles. I never liked the original version. This one's much better, in my opinion.

  • I love the rain!!!

  • This is from the ABBA in Switzerland special from 1979.

Which includes Roxy Music and Amii Stewart in it aswell.

  • just love the music

  • reminds me of my primary school days

  • its raining against my window now. It dosnt bother me

  • Очень эту песню в детстве любил! Пластинку у знакомой с трудом выпросил.

  • Boney M's producer spotted this female lead (2nd in the history of the band) so that's prob why it has that sound.
