As a HM3 (FMF) field corpsman, I have nothing but respect for these guys. They made the ultimate sacrifice to save their Marines. R.I.P docs. See you on the other side someday. Hoorah, 1st Battalion 8th Marines!
Absolutley the best Corpsman tribute I have ever seen, and I have seen many. My son is a US Navy FMF Corpsman, and I am very proud of him and all our military personnel. May God Bless you all.
There is a saying that, next to god, a corpsman is a marines best friend on the battle field. I'm currently serving as a hospital corpsman and I hope that soon I will be able to step up as so many of my fellow corpsman have and serve as galantly as they have. Bravo Zulu on a job well done. Rest in peace shipmates.
A clinic is named after HM3 Thompson in Al Asad. The Warlords of 2/2 still remember him to this day. And HN Sare was my roomate in HM "A" school. I dropped the Navy Times when I saw his face in there. Salute our brothers

I am changing my job to FMF Corpsman and I am opting to leave early for basic training. More medics are needed and I decided to answer the call and go for FMF. I have to go in on the 1st of December to send a form out and I should be gone in 2 weeks. The lives of others and my country come before myself. I'll be gone for Christmas, but I know that there are many more Christmas' around the corner. The best gift I can give this holiday season is my service to my nation.
Im an HM3 in FMTB (Field Medical Training Battalion) Camp Pendleton right now. been a corpsman for 2 1/2 years and I believe that being a Navy Corpsman is the best job in the world! HOORAH to all former, current and future DEVIL DOCS as well as our fallen brothers who gave the ultimate sacrifice!

Can someone help me on my job of choice
I just wanted to say that I believe HM3 Johnson was attached to 3rd BN. 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. If you can fact check this and change it that would be great. I was with 2/5 and I remember when it happened. He deserves appropriate credit. Thanks for the tribute HM1.
HM3 David Moreno and i were both at FMSS hool and was stationed in Guam together. We had a lot of good memeories and wish that i could have been there for him when he needed me the most. To all the fallen HM's you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace David.
Like the nation has Memorial Day, I propose that the Marines create an annual day in which we formally recognize how important Corpsmen are to us. As a Marine Vietnam Veteran (see my "Tribute to a Fallen Corpsman") my heart both swells with pride and breaks with sadness when I think of the Corpsmen who have served side by side with us and those who have fallen trying to save us. They are truly America's Finest!
I am a US Naval Sea Cadet and i am going through Naval Sea Cadet Corpman Training. Supposed to be one of the hardest training in the Sea Cadets. Wish me luck.

I had the honor to help put HM3 Mendezaceves to rest at a Funeral mass. I was an RP3 at the time, and was informed of his death and that I would serve the Mass and burial. One of the most touching deepest points in my life. I will never ever forget. The funeral mass was deep. When I incensed the casket, I had to hold the tears back although one came forth. The hardest part was the mother crying, I just looked at her, in deepest sorrow. Rest in Peace HM3.
at 2:12, you see my brother, Travis Youngblood. I served with him, he was one of my best mates, and now he's gone from my life forever. RIP, brother. :(
I served with John Fralish in K-bay, Hawaii and in Afghanistan when He died doing his duty. He was loved and cherished by "his Marines" and his fellow sailors. You will always be missed brother. Semper Fidelis
Fantastic and wonderful tribute! My brother joined the Marines about 2 years ago and ever since then I've never been as proud of him as I am now. In the past 4 months or so I have been contemplating joining up as a Corpsman because of the kind of courage and bravery as well as dedication they have!
HM3 House and I were stationed at Naval Medical Clinic in Hawaii. Every so often when I had duty, he would also be on duty. I took pictures of them as they were leaving for the war. In a few months, we heard about his incident and we held his funeral service for him at the base chapel. I made a slideshow which I presented during the service. We the clinic have lost a good sailor and friend, America lost a good citizen. We corpsmans must continue to honor our fallen heroes. We salute all of you!
I served in Fallujah Iraq with C Co. 1/3 Woods and House were in my unit. Both of them were fearless in the face of combat and exposed themselves to enemy fire without a second thought when one of us got hit. We had 1000's of rounds of ammo and weapons to fight with, they went into battle with a backpack full of medical supplies and a commitment to save our lives. They are the true definition of courage and I was lucky to know men as brave as them. 1/3 for life

corpsmen deserve alot more respect than they get from us marines. I know they get bitched at for being late for formation and shit, screw that. they can do what they want, they are there for us. rahh
I am HM3 John D. House's mother...he's in the video.... KIA 1/26/05... with 30 of "his" Marines... as he called them... he loved each and every one of them.. and wrote in a letter to me - before going in to Fallujah - "I don't know how I will handle if any of them get hurt... I know them all, even in the dark, by their mannerisms.. I feel so responsible for them....it is my job to make sure they make it home safe."
God Bless all those fallen! May God bring comfort to their loved ones. And for those of us that are still here may we continue to help guide those who want to walk in our shoes...and to tell them the stories we know of sacrifice these doc's have made.
i think about my brothers and sisters that wear the caduceus and i miss working with them and our fellow service members. after i got out, i had to ask for insurance as a medic. i am not a bill collector, i just wanted to treat patients. it was an honor to treat the sick, scared, injured and dying.
I was an 0321 as a Marine, but I knew that to stay in the dance I had to switch partners and became a Navy SARC (Recon Corpsman). It's not a job, it's a religious calling. I instantly hated Marines but I would gladly go into the gates of hell to bring a wounded one out, same for a fallen Marine.
I was proud to be a Marine, but to be a "Doc", was a calling from above. Semper Fi boys, save a spot for me up there, but if we want to be with our Marines, we will have to go the other way.
i wanna be a corpsman.....but my family are very anti bush and say that i only wanna kill....i dont know what to say since i want to be a corpsman but then agian, i want to help people.... does god like it when corpmen save people who kill people? cuz i really dont know what to say.... i want to be a corpsman when i have their support....its kinda hard
Bush ain't got nothing to do with it! If you feel that your calling in life is to be a Corpsman, then do it. You will never be sorry for it! It will bring honor to your heart to know that you are there to save others! Do not be hindered by what others think, but be charged by what is your heart!
I'm trying to be a HM too, I think that in the end helping save somebody else's life makes up for any harm you may have to do to defend yourself. I'm not sure about the rules of engagment with HM....anybody? I know they are armed.
before corpsman didnt have to carry any arms, but now its required. in iraq when you encounter a jihad, tell your unit to make sure hes down, because if hes a live you have to go fix him up. They're getting smart too, they know who to target;the medic because with the doc down, the unit will to back to base to get another.

God Bless all those fallen! May God bring comfort to their loved ones. And for those of us that are still here may we continue to help guide those who want to walk in our shoes...and to tell them the stories we know of sacrifice these doc's have made.

Corpsman UP!
i think about my brothers and sisters that wear the caduceus and i miss working with them and our fellow service members. after i got out, i had to ask for insurance as a medic. i am not a bill collector, i just wanted to treat patients. it was an honor to treat the sick, scared, injured and dying.
