  • TRON-age hardware

  • Just imagine the possibilies of reactables! In my mind i can see several producers colloborating on a track like magicians playing with runes.

  • so this is like the new idea of a modular system? seems pretty interesting...

  • In my mind reactable is just a new interface. It is a game to play with but i think you have to learn a lot to make the music you want on a reactable. There s a lot of try and error in that game and it makes fun, but to make serious music with it, it is for me too much, i still believe in my computer and my sequencer programm just because it is faster. But i like playing.

  • i love hyper-instruments but were missing the big one sometimes..

  • Heyyy... what is ReacTable??

  • Only the greatest thing ever!

but look at the related videos and you'll understand.

  • A modular synth eveloped by spanish engineers.Must be the only remarkable spanish input to electronic music, besides Esplendor Geométrico!

  • you should try downloading the engine software reactivision, and use the TUIO client for any programming language you got going and just mess around ..

im using it for my live gigs, with a regular webcam.

  • thats crazy

  • oh.

i will find more about this "reacTable"

    i'm so interesting

  • Most expensive instrument in the world?

  • nah...it's just glass, cameras, a projector, some IR LEDs and software.

  • @Tylerdurden31 It actually IS an instrument.......The ReacTable..and its 9,500 Euros to buy.

  • most expensive is a xilophone made of gold... or diamond, maybe. Just joking.

  • LOL. You make me laugh. =]

  • @AWM05 $13,000 for sale now!

  • @lucasboden also you can make one in home. The software used for optical tracking is free and open source. It's call reacTIVision. In combination with pureData it's a guge framework to do what you want.

  • @psicodelio yea and ill be building R2D2 next

  • @pegamoide12345 I said, what you want, LITERALY. You can add some microcontrollers and you can make the stupid robot you want. With little knowledge in programming, by the way.

  • @AWM05 A regular ol' piano costs 10x as much.

  • @egyptiansushi (can cost, I mean.)

  • ok it's cool but the sound is kinda painful... guess it's just an aquired taste thing

  • definately is. while ago i went into this and when my buddy pulled me back into metal my taste was gone. it's like a scrambler.

  • I that bjork in the video... she has big arms

  • NOOOOOO. LOL no that's her remizer.

  • So what is it?

  • Check...also.....MIDIHANDS.....from italy......playin..the table...with hands...no..cubes.!

    thx...to the Reactable....Crew.......

    The Future Is Now!!!!

  • Dude, if you think that "jazz hands" sound hot on a reacTable, just wait'l you hear and see the utterly MASSIVE synthesis of my throbbing c*** n' b****!

  • That is one AMAZING creation. XXDD The reacTable is incredible! I wonder how it works...

  • its been featured! check it out, kinda described there.. =)

  • Coolness :)

  • I never thought that Bjork would use this for pluto, how fucking ingenious and awesome!

I bet you Trent Reznor jumps on this!

  • I bet you Richard D. James jumps on this! :D

  • aphex twin with this would be plain scary

  • Yes it would sir. That's why he should have it! :D

  • stroke yr chin much?

  • I am a rocker and I love it...

By the way, before her solo career Bjork used to sing in a pop/rock band called Sugarcubes.

So why the rockers won't like it ?

    Bullshit... Open your mind...

  • I don´t see why not musicians make a fusion with rock (organic music) and this kind of E.T. technology. For a moment before the music think of the technological platform, this is rocketscience.

  • thats awesome.. this is evolution of electronic musik.. damn!!!!!!!! it hurt for someones (rockers)

  • it's called innovation...thanks for your knowledgeable and intelligent input

  • dude take it easy its just an expresion.. sometimes hurts but... its all about misic... a love tool... also old school rock... but that shit its amazing.. dont you think!!!

  • yeah man i totally agree it blows my mind off(reactable) i just dont understand why it should hurt for rockers?? thats why i tell u that there must be a reason which rock doesnt need to change at all because its great the way it is thats all im saying moby fan

  • I'm a rocker... and it doesn't hurt at all! I think that the reactable is just amazing. Real musicians are not afraid about experimentation. Experimentattion is THE base for music... This thing rocks, and I want one of this. =D

  • wow

  • loquisimo!

    crazy!

  • Well, I guess it might be fun anyway =D

  • It's an amazing invention, I agree, but it seems too complicated... Isn't it easier to generate all these sound effects with a laptop? =S

  • it's not just about generating sounds...in fact i'm sure they're using a laptop or synth with it. It's about being innovative and a new way of making your music.

  • Pink Floyd mira el reacTable!!!

  • human beens

  • Humans can do incredible things, beautiful!!!

  • That comment was beautiful.

    :]

  • It was invented in BARCELONA, CATALONIA. And this is another MULTITOUCH, there are also multitouch sistem, IPHONE, SURFACE etcetc

  • no one says it is a spanish invention ????

  • it's spanish...created at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain...happy?

  • yes thank you !!

  • although it is very closely based on AudioPad invented at MIT in the Tangible Media lab. It takes a vintage approach to it's interface, where audiopad took a digital approach.

  • Reactable instrument to debut in New York at OFFF Festival

The creators will be presenting their device and giving a hands on performance at the inaugural OFFF digital art festival, from November 2 -- 4 at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center.

  • omg!

can't wait to see bjork concert here in Brazil *-*

  • ripped the shit out of Coachella! It was an amazing set.

  • Bjork is teh shit. That reacTable STILL looks complicated...

  • I want one of those tables!

  • and God say Let there be light

  • I've seen that in Gdynia

  • that's why i love Bjork <3

  • impresionante!!

    increible! la cago!!!

  • i'm guessing very little of what i heard came from the table. the high pitches that didn't go along with anything...

  • a lot of people don't seem to see how the music and the table match up. It's mostly noises, but you can see the sounds in the wave forms moving between the cubes

  • I just saw this in Colorado about an hour ago! Best show ever!

  • will it blend?

  • the cubes maybe...the table...not so much

  • OH MY GOD. I wish I could've seen that ... how freaking awesome!!!

  • THAT SHOW WAS FANTASTIC. AMAZING.
