A big mistake that a lot of people make when opening the condom package is not pushing the condom to one side of the package before ripping it. This results in a tear in the condom, which most people don't notice in the heat of the moment. Just Thought I'd say that for future reference! :) Happy sexing!

yeah , no when taking the condom of just grab it from the end with gloves and slowly take it off.. bc what if you have an open cut and the girl or in your case the guy just finished her period and she has a little blood then the blood will get on your open cut.. Just a note: HIV is a VIRUS, not a disease (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). AIDS is the disease that is a result of HIV, it is not one and the same. HIV causes the problem, but is not the problem itself. Btw, AIDS means Acquired Immune Deficiency Disease.

The person you have sex with must be infected for you to get it, but please be aware that you can get STI's and HIV/AIDS with ought sexual contact through means of blood or other bodily fluids.

If you know 100% that your partner does not have anything (by means of a sexual health test) then yes it is safe to not use a condom although not recommended coz you never know what they could be getting up to.

Better safe then sorry :)

Just a quick note to people to remind them to make sure they use plenty of water-based lube (never oil based as it can increase chances of breakage) & be sure to use latex condoms (or polyurethane if you have a latex allergy). Lamb skin condoms aren't really good for preventing infections

Get tested regularly, condoms will lessen the chance of getting most STIs but aren't 100% protection & having an STI can increase your chances of contracting HIV by lowering your immune system.

Yes. No matter one's sexual orientation, there is still risk of STDs. Technically speaking, anal sex is slightly more dangerous because of the possibility of fissures.

Unless you're in a monogamous relationship (and, of course, know the risk of not using one, such as children in the case of heterosexuals), then you should always use a condom.

Jesse gives good advice. Listen to him. :) Also, along with minding expiry dates, one should store those in a place that isn't too warm.

I think I should clarify.

What I meant to say is storing a condom in a warm place for too long will cause it to degrade faster than the printed expiry. But it isn't really an issue if you'll use it in a sensible timeframe.

About the pocket, the latex in condoms can weaken from friction even in the packet, so it's best to not place them in the back of jeans for too long because of possible chafing from sitting and movement.

Generally, these things are pretty sturdy, though.

Oh, I probably should add that, by warm place I mean like the glovebox or the dashboard of a car, for example. Body heat won't cause noticeable latex degradation. If it did, we'd all be in trouble. :P
