  • I just visited this video after maybe a year. I fell in love with this all over again. What an amazing rendition. I really love the way she delivered it. Most of all, I love the mridangam accompaniment

  • I can never emphasize enough how much I love the drumming!!!

  • Sudheendra Sir has been simply amazing in any of his concerts I have been too!

  • He is now number one

  • neeke dayaraaka is an excellent song...a slooww song in neelambari.

  • i dont understand why the orchestra is not enjoying themself.

  • haha im sure they are, I have been to many concerts with Shri HS Sudhindra, and he is always smiling and enjoying the music onstage

  • She is sitting with her back to the gods, and with her back to the image of very musician they are supposed to be honoring. Where has the emphasis gone in traditional Carnatic music: It seems to have slipped to the importance of T.V., audiences and personal performance, instead of staying rooted in the very reason that music exists for in the first place.

  • Yes, they could have set up the Gods and Thyagarajar idols somewhere else and not on the stage. It is really not nice. But I don't think Aruna ji can do anything. The artistes just have to sing. They can't protest to the organisers.

  • It simply says that she is sitting @ the feet of the god.....and rendering....thats all...when a concert happens in temple....the main idol is placed like the same way its placed here.....dosen't ever mean...we r showing our backs to the god....and u can even take it in this sense...god is always behid us...helping us...in this case the ARTISTS....

Learn to look 2 things in a better way.

    Good luck.

  • God is all pervasive and fill the entire cosmos with his loving energy. God has no front or back, no up or down (as Bramha discoverd trying to discover the hight and depth of Lord Shiva). The murthis are just physical renditions of devine concepts. If you were seeking God is this video clip the manifestation was in her voice and it came across loud and clear. If your heart was in the right place that would have swept you away. You would not even have noticed the decor.

  • Someone said her nose is big. Why is that modded down? Her nose is beautiful

  • You're right, the drummer is superb! What divine playing. He is my new favourite!

  • rcous, sorry to say but if you really admired them then you wouldn't be asking such an offensive question.

  • Your question is way too offensive, the way you asked it.

On the other hand, it is true that singers gain weight more than dancers do - surprised?

  • Not sure what you did but rcous doesnt seem to exist in youtube anymore :)

  • violin: Shri Nagai Sriram

    mridangam: Shri H.S. Sudhindra

  • what raga is this?

  • nElAmbari

  • Pretty great. Do you know who the accompanists are? (Mridgangam, esp.)

  • Aruna sairam is too good. thx for providing the video clip.
