I don't know enough of economics to know who started it, but some people say that Clinton signed something in 1996 that effected the housing market or something like that, Lol. So maybe a lot of people over many decades caused this great recession that started in December 2007. Also, we went went off the gold standard in 1971 which gave us permission to spend and print money like crazy and even before 1971, in the 60s, we were spending like crazy because of the Vietnam war.

So maybe a lot of people over many decades caused this great recession that started in December 2007. Also, we went went off the gold standard in 1971 which gave us permission to spend and print money like crazy and even before 1971, in the 60s, we were spending like crazy because of the Vietnam war.
