@TheBeachdreams There are many different ways to play chords, they choose unique "phrasing" as it's called. This song has lots of minor 7ths ("and now I'm breaking you heart") and suspended 2nds ("to tear your world apart"). Chords used alot in jazz music, very unique for pop music. Unless you have alot of music theory, it's hard to understand, I hope this helps though.

Does someone knows which instrument is that 'synthy windy sound' at the intro? is that a synth guitar? or is it made by keyboards? maybe some kind of midi wind instrument? This was played regularly on some BMI flights before take off, and to my horror I did not know who sang it. Fast forward 5 years later and thanks to running a Google search with the words "I can feel the tears", i found the answer.
