propbably the very best interviewer, ever......why is it that they all come from Nebrsaka of all places, anyone have an honest comment about that ? that new kid doing all the great movie star interviews is from there also, Carson, and other.
I read somewhere that they actually s=end many tv hosts, news anchors and radio hosts the the university there to study the "lack" of noticable accent, that somewhere it was decided that that state had the perfect sounding examples of the American English LAnguage, truth to that?
@THEMASTEROFYOU2000 I know that in an interview Tony Randall (actor, radio and tv personality) said he was in the School of Speech (Northwestern University) because he thought there was where he needed to be to be trained as an actor. I think the school is now known as the School of Communication. He only stayed a year before studying acting at an acting school. He did mention that everyone who wanted to become actors would go to Northwestern. Don't know whether that helps.
Of course Cavett's morning show was fantastic, and he always used the desk. Look how much worse Hope looks and sounds than he did later on Cavett's night show. The lighting, sound, and makeup were cruder on this early version of Cavett's show, obviously. But it was sensationally great because of Cavett himself.
Two of the biggest phonies in the galaxy.

What version of the Dick Cavett Show is this? I have no memory of him using a desk....like traditional talk shows.

This was from his daytime show on ABC in the mid-60s before he migrated to late night.
