Actually the reason it didnt blow people away is because the people were fairly far below the engines... the air pushed out of those turbines is in a very concentrated stream so you would have to be right behind it...also since F=ma the force of the air would have to be greater than the normal force and mewK time acceleration to lift a car or a person... genius...

Oh ok, I can definitely say this isn't fake. It is a big tourist attraction for plane watchers. And people could can blown from jet blast when the plane is taking off since the engines are almost at full throttle. That is one spot that I have on my bucket list. Lol

If that was the case, with all the drag from the landing gear and flaps, the plane would crash before the runway. The plane has speedbrakes, or spoilers, to slow it down. The throttle is put to idle at about 100 ft above the runway. But the engines are never turned off cause you wouldn't be able to use the reverse thrusters to slow it down once on the grown, and especially on a

@bkr71 That said, it's certainly true that THIS landing in particular seems so damn close to a crash that it looks like it is unreal... normally in St. Maarteen they fly over the beachd a little bit higher than this, here the pilot itself I think got scared, he realized he was too low and reopened the throttle heavily (you can hear it) to prevent ending up touching the net with the landing gear!
