@brandanmusic yeah the tone that beyonce has is one of a kind, and her intervals are so unique she puts her own twang on songs that no one can replicate. Its a shame how she is hated on for whatever reason, but after studying the great vocalists, Beyonce is def one of them!

I don't know if it was the quality of the video or what but if not maybe she should work on thickening her tone a bit...or make it a little darker or brighter or something...it just doesnt have much weight and i don't know why but i just feel let down listening to her sing this when i didnt agree with Simon that there was a cap to what she could do vocally... :(

Alex can sing much lower and alex has a more husky, raspy voice and Syesha can sing higher with a more loud voice with those very textured high notes. Syesha looks better and is sexier but Alex has that sacred flame of star quality

does anyone realize how much less... for lack of a better word, 'shrieky' she is in these tour vids than she was on idol. compare her first performance of this on tour to her most recent ones and you'll notice a big difference in her tone and the quality of her voice. she's become such an amazing singer, even tho she was a great one to begin with!
