I don't know about other computer resolution but, I can clearly see the image lines on or under the paper. This is only tracing. as for the thinness of the paper the angle of the camera catches more glare. And Yes the music is annoying.

That is a very strange way when starting a portrait, you just start with the outline of the shade, not the actual face at all - This is traced from the original photo - this "skill" is overrated.

I used regular printer paper and a cutting board I have so I can set it on my knees and draw. The pens were plain sharpies and a grey felt pen.
