  • Your Durga aint bad I have one I have almost every hop up exept the front slipper clutch a 5200 mah battery and a castle creation 5700 motor

  • slash is not a real rc car... it's a real rc truck

  • what a piece of shit rc car you have a tamiya durga, with a mm 3s, your a dumb tightass moron, get your finger out of your ass.

  • y is it that ur front wheels keep spinning wen the back stops sorry some how mine doesnt do that

  • yep

  • are you using the front one way diff?

  • sorry about that i dont mean to be a asshole, i just take my rc too serious sometimes, at the end of the day its all about having fun, and yeah the slash is good im getting the 1/16 e revo soon they also make one with the slash also.

  • You said "rc" and "serious" in the same sentence. lol

In my opinion, mortgage is serious or school. not rc. LOL

RCs are toys. I enjoy them them, but still they are just toys.

  • these are not toys, toys are something you give to a child for stimulation, this is not the radioshack car you give your kid, these are capable of reaching high speeds,ok,let a kid run a 8Th scale truggy going full speed into your shin,or an animal,or another child, property, its going to do damage, these are simply scaled down race vehicle's that are tunable ,repairable, upgradeable, just like full scale, but smaller.lots of people make "living's" working in the r/c industry, there not "TOY'S"

  • traxxas slash is not a REAL rc car in my terms, and like i thought durga wasn't going to last long with that set up u had, like i said team associated or losi, hot bodies, they are more expensive than traxxas but they are worth it, i have a rustler vxl brushless its fast and all, traxxas make rc bashing cars, not rc racing cars, the chassis design on my rustler is 25 years old and not made very well with cheap plastic they use.

  • I'm happy with the Slash. It's fast, fun and cheap on replacement parts.

  • @DINOSRAGERC Yes it is you dumb stupid shit. You know nothing about rc cars if you think the slash is not a real rc car. Your a stupid fuck.

  • @DINOSRAGERC oh ok a slash isnt a real car... wow your an idiot...

  • Ah well. I have bought a Traxxas Slash a few months ago. Put in the MM and battery together with a Traxxas VXL motor.

    Runs smooth since.

  • tamiya durgas are not for brushless power thats why, you wasted your money on crap, bad car bad esc but good battery, get rid off the first 2 i mentioned. get a losi or team associated, they are the stuff u want.

  • I disagree. You can damage any RC car with brushless if it's not correctly adjusted. I have my durga for 6 months now and I did not change any drive parts - once an arm since I crushed it.

  • sphon721 is on the right track

7700 and 6900kv will have the best top speeds

and the 5600 is in the middle which got balance of top speed and torque

4600 is best on off road some like monster truck or perhaps buggy which gives it the best torque

  • Actually 5700 has the best top speed. The max RPM is 60,000 so you can use 3 cell lipos. 6900 and 7700 cannot use those without frying. More datails like this in Castle Creations website.

    Cheers!

  • The torque has nothing to do with the motor. Does not matter if you have 46, 57, 69 or 77. Torque is entirely up to the battery and it's discharge rate.

    Example:

    4500mAh @ 10C

    (4500/1000)*10 = 45A discharge

    3000mAh @ 35C

    (3000/1000)*35 = 105A discharge

More info on Castle Creations site.

    Cheers!

  • what kind of system you have

  • If you could read the description it says, Durga with Mamba Max 5700 on 3s Lipo

    Mamba Max 5700!

  • that is REALY noisey... not sure what power ur getting there, but Damn.. its loud for an electric

  • Yeah it's pretty noisy. Part of the noise is due to the drivetrain of the Durga. Before I coocked my motor, I've measured ~80 Amps once. 11.1*80=888 Watts.

That's too insane for such a car and eventually also for the motor. Still deciding if I buy a new motor for this car. Bought a Traxxas Slash a few months ago. Running on a 3sLipo with VXL motor. Much more bashing fun than the Durga.

  • just run a 2s

  • in my DI i cooked 2 5700's on 3cells geared 18/88, running a 7700 on a 2cell geared 16/86, doesnt overheat anymore and its still very fast. diffs go out all the time. i think less torque more kv is the ticket with these. i tried the VXL motor on my mamba ESC and it tore my DI a new as**ole, way to much torque

  • 5700 got overheated after 5 mins of full speed grasshopping.

  • Oh forgot to mention something. This motor is cool because it can handle 3s lipo. To certain limits. ;) There are a lot more motors on the market that can run on 2 cells lipo or 6/7 cells NIMH that are much cheaper and most of the times about 100 grams lighter. I don't see the added value if you don't run it on 11.1 volts.

  • Can you use a Mamba max 5700 with a Novak GTB spread spektrum esc? and how long can you run the 5700 till it gets too hot?

  • Hi,

I think that will go just fine. As long as you don't run it on 3s lipo. The Novak can't handle that. I think on 2s lipo or 6/7 cells NiMH it will just go fine. BTW.. I fried my motor last week. The 5700 totally got overheated. I can't recommend it on 3s lipo. The speeds are absurd anyway. Going to look at a lower KV motor.

  • o ok im not running lipo yet =)

  • i have the first set of beeps and the last but not the 3 in the middle

i got my mamba like 3 months ago

  • Those indicate that 3S lipo (1 beep for every cell) has been attached, if I do not mistake.

  • its got a different start up sound than my mm 5700

  • I think you mean the startup beeps, not the start of the motor. What sounds does your one make. Maybe a firmware difference? I have the firmware that was available in may 2008. My whole drivetrain is still molten. Molten diff, molten spurgear. Hmmmm. The spurgear has been molten by a to hot pinion. Going to switch to a smaller pinion this winter.

  • how long did your 7700 last under 3s lipo? (since it's not recommanded by the company)

  • Can't say. It's a 5700. No 7700. Have still to replace some molten drivetrain parts tough. The last time my spur gear has been molten. I need to get a pinion with less teeth. The engine is getting real hot. The pinion transfered the heat of the engine to the spur.

  • huh really scary all the wires and stuff are moving and falling off at 0:13

  • Everything is fixed and strapped now. At the moment of the video I couldn't wait. Just connected everything and gave it go.

  • what lipo batt is that exactly?...did you do any other mods?

Ive a durga on a 19t motor, its too slow...i'd like to produce a sonic boom if poss...any ideas?

  • Hi,

It's a 3s 5000 mAh Hyperion LiPo. The problem with this setup is the tremendous power on the drivetrain. It just blows away on the tarmac.

Have run it for about 15 minutes and melted 3 of my diff pulleys. Currently waiting for some new ones including a TRF501X diff.

My only drivetrain mod besides the future TRF501X diff is a front one-way diff. That's a bless. Because it's fully made of aluminum, it doesn't melt. I also did some other hopups not in the drivetrain.

  • Ah forgot to mention the slipper clutch.

  • I hope you know that's really not good for your motor..

  • LOPL cant wait to get my sxc durga running :)
