Hey Linus, are you going to be doing another video on the RESULTS of video power vs non video power as you suggested ? I kind of thought you would be doing an actual fact video showing both laptops. Would love to see this, I'm super curious. I saw this exact laptop in person at Canada Computers, and it's amazing. However, wait 6 months and they will prob pop in the better graphics card you are discussing in that "other" laptop.

I actually like ASUS's idea to include only up to a 560m. Anything higher would probably cost over $2000. In that case, you might as well just buy a $1000 laptop and a $1000 gaming desktop.

@frozenskipper What do you mean? For 1k you could get a decent 2500k + GTX560Ti setup, which would play most games on high/ultra settings at 1080p. Pair that with a laptop with a 2430m/2630m + GT540/GTX560m an that's a pretty decent combination you have there.

I have the G53SW-A1 and it is a really great laptop! :)

It has i7, 8GB RAM, 1.5GB Graphics card etc. for $1000 at frys.

I can run every game iv'e tried so far at ultra high graphics without any lagg or problems.

It's very comfortable, but the battery life is only 3 hours and it weights very much because of the components which sucks. :/

I have the g53sx-xt1, picked it up for 900 on black Friday. You cannot find a better performance/price ratio for gaming in my opinion. Yes, the gtx580m will be noticeably better, but only so much, not worth the extra price. Besides, Asus puts a bunch of little perks in their systems that makes them really nice; my only complaints are the ports on the right, becomes annoying to use a mouse, and I prefer (used to) having a full sized right shift like on my old toshiba, but still a great laptop.

They really just need a good CPU and lots of RAM. I have a Quad AMD Bulldozer at 3.7 GHz UNclocked, and 16 GBs of high end RAM, with a EVGA Geforce GTS 450. Plays CoD MW3 and Skyrim with like 50-60 FPS. No joke.
