Yes, heyboobooshoo, I too was thinking how could I have been unaware of this beautiful song. Today is my first hearing of it, and justdar, I thank you for sharing it, and also her website!! I've just visited it as well, and I see she's on tour near my city in July. I was able to see her live some years back and it was a perfect show! Thanks, again. Peace & light, your way...

Many of Janis's songs should be played and heard more because she writes and plays with great emotion. This is a great song along with a lot from her. :)
Janis Ian is the most talented entertainer I've seen in my 63 years. She is a musical genius, who puts her heart and soul into her music as nobody else can.
Ever since I heard Janis Ian on the radio back in the mid 70'es I have loved her music and melancoly and wise lyrics. She is a truly wonderful lady and amazing artist.
I was in a Janis Ian's concert this April when she was performing in Japan... and this was the concert of my life time... I began listening to Janis 30 years ago and just had my dream of watching her live performance realised this year..... (I missed her performance in Singapore 3 years ago and I hated myself for that)....
i'm 19 and only just stumbled across Janis Ian's music. she is beautiful and we owe so much to her. thank you Janis for being beautiful, and thanks justdar for posting!
I began listening to Janis when I was 16 years old and I'm now 49 and I never heard this song until now. It brought me to tears. It is such a touching song that immediately tugged at my heart and soul. Thank you, Janis for being the incredible artist that you are!
It's actually a pretty recent song, so if you haven't heard this one there may be others you're missing! Check out her website! She's still alive and very well and touring. Plus she has an autobiography coming out this summer!!!
I agree with what I wrote three weeks ago. BTW she's taking 2007 off from touring to write her autobiography. If you've listened to her hew CD--Folk is the New Black--that's expected.
Does anyone know where Janis Ian is these days? She and Eva Cassidy remind me sooo much of each other. This is pure music at its finest. Thanks for the post.
That was when artist were artist...thanks for posting, Justdar.

Just beautiful!..so true...and expressed so simply...it happens all the time...perhaps the male/female divide?
1234col4321 3 years ago
1234col4321: That would be true, if women never cheated on men. The divide between male and female is narrower than you may think it is.
