Just took my protection pad off. I have had it for about 6 months and I think it is time for a new one. I have to say... this is one of the greatest accessories for the MBP. And it does not leave any residue! Also, have you tried the trackpad covers? I have used them for a year and my trackpad looks brand new! :)
Yeah I tried the trackpad cover, but I didn't like it because it wasn't as smooth as the original was
My only wish is that these pads lasted longer, I think you're right, about 6 months is the useful life for these pads. But I guess they do start getting nasty after awhile since they're a pad and not plastic or metal. I hope they come out with ones for the new unibody Mac laptops!
Thanks bunches for the vid. I already had both the case (the best!!) and the marware protection pack (I'm like that, buy things and then worry about reviews haha.), but I followed your idea of cutting off the little pieces of the pad to allow the laptop to close better and it has solved the problem I had about the laptop not going to sleep properly and constantly waking up while closed. Thanks!
It's similar to Duct tape, but without the residue. It has that textured look and feel to it. Supposedly it doesn't leave any residue when you remove it months or years from when you put it on, but I guess time will tell.
I have the black Speck on my MacBook Pro, I just got it. I haven't took it out of my home yet but did you purchance get your Speck case scratched? I want to try as hard as I can to prevent that :)
No, and I don't recommend using any type of protection sticker on the trackpad or even on the button. Clear film like InvisibleShield is great for small portable electronic devices, but when applied to a laptop's trackpad, it creates too much surface skid - instead of being smooth it's like rubbing your finger over rubber, rather than silk. You can still move the pointer, but there's more resistance. I have used one in the past and did not like it.
nice vid man, could you tell me if i could get that pad in a diferent color other than the gray, i was thinking on the black case with the black armrests so they dont show off dirt so much
Hey man, you did a good job on reviewing this one...I am getting one for myself too, and I just want to ask if you can do a review on the speck seethru case that you have on your mbp?, please???...
What kind of case?

thanks for the video. Ive been debating on getting one of these. How does it "stick" to the palmrest? Does it grip or actually has sticky film?

The case is from Speck and the wrist pad is from Marware. I wouldn't own a Mac laptop without either :)

What can I say? Mac users are manly men :D
orionmods 4 years ago
Not true. That was a very sexist comment. You got any facts on that?

Umm manly men, not mainly men.
