  • How much does it cost to remove ingrown nail for both legs?

  • To the young people who had it done and want to know why it comes back. My daughter had the surgery twice. She had relief for about 6 months. She was still cutting them wrong but also her foot was still growing according to the second podiatrist we saw. They said that you usually need to get X-rays to see the foot is no longer growing then the procedure can be done. At least in our case....

  • i have been removing the triangles and its gettign worse. there is no infection tho. what can i do... must I have surgery?

  • EWWWWWWWWWWW!

  • Hi! Would you know if there's a doctor in the SF area that would perform the Vandenbos Procedure?

My toes are not abscessed anymore, but it seems that having the Vandenbos Procedure would be a good way not to have ingrown toenails again.

    Thanks!

  • well s888 i wish i would have watched this a long time ago s*** s*** s*** s***

  • I had this once. I fixed the toenail myself and have been cutting the nail properly since, but I had to get antibiotics to get rid of the infection.

  • Can you please help my i am 11 and my dad is 41 and we both have inground toenails and i it really started going deep in my toes now and my dads where allready down deep and we have been doing home surgeries just like you showed that made it worse should we call a toenail doctore and i have heard that some of them do something to kill the roots so it wont grow back and me and my dad are consuerd that it will be really painfull and will we only fell the shots that numb of tow??? please tell me!!!

  • hi i am only 13 and i see red ness around my toe nail my toe nails grown inward but its not bleeding say i got it removed what would they do

  • Oops I've been cutting my toe nails wrong this whole time! Will cutting it straight across now fix my now curved toenails and get rid of the "spicule" ?

  • The nail docters did the same thing about cutting the whole side of the nail off but the did not numb it. And plus is just came back after about maybe 11 months. PLEASE RESPOND WHY IT CAME BACK (i have been cutting my nail straight across and every thing else, but i play football and i dont know if my football shoes could have caused it to come back)

  • i gave myself that pointy thing under the skin and now i don't know what to do. i think the whole nail is just a few mm deep. is a toe nail not suppose to fold under skin at all? mine has for as long as i can remember. i have been cutting the side for about a year now. now i realize i just screwed myself. what should i do? i would rather not get it cut out as i saw the procedure and it horrify me. is their anything else i could do? like use a small stick to force it back up over the skin?

  • IF you have to cut straight then why are trimmers curved? Bullshit

  • spicule thats what its called i don't have that anymore due to me cutting it and now the nail is growing out from the side please help

  • hey can you please help me out unfortunaly i cut my big toe to short and you know the white stuff that you cut when the nails is big i don't know what it's called but yea it's growing for me on the bottom of my nail and i need to find a way to stop that HELP ME?

If you need more information about what am talking about ask because i really nervous about this

  • I actually had this done on my big toe today. It only cost 50 dollars exactly..Yeah i will be returning to him in fact,i have another ingrown one right now lol..ouch..

  • But If u do it professionally, it will Cost like $1,000 -.-

  • I think my pedicurist gave me an ingrown toe nail. I went 2 times this year (and haven't went for at least 3 yrs before this, as I do my own) and after the second visit my big toe is killing me! Once I get it fixed I will make sure they are cutting properly or will not go anymore. It hurts even when I bump my toe on my down comforter :(

  • Just had this don't today! I hate shot and I had to get 2 (half of the shot at once so technically 4) and it does hurt after the numbing goes away, no you are not put to sleep, and yes there is something you can put in your nail after the surgery to prevent another. My doctor puts it under and around my nail after the surgery. I've had this done on both big toes.

  • Very educational even though it was an ad. Good video.

  • so pinte shoes may have caused my ingrown toenails.... :(

  • o boy... i did the exact same thing the video said not to do when your cutting it....

  • I feel like an idiot , i just did what you say not to do this morning before soccer (clip out the angle of the nail thats in the skin ) :/

  • I had this done in september 2009, one of my nails is fine but the other one grows and then the nail splits from where they cut it and grows underneath my toe nail. do you have any ideas why this has happened???

  • Had one removed today.. Instant relief!

  • thanks , thats exactly what i have!

  • are you conscious when the surgery takes place?

  • heyy, do you know any tricks to stop me biting/picking my nails? also what happens if you just don't go to get your ingrowing toenail removed? please reply, thanks.. :)

  • hi, i have had ingrown toenails 3 times. i just got one taken out again the other day and right now it's healing. however, i'm afraid that it might grow back again in the same place causing an ingrown again. is there an ointment or medication i can buy to treat my toenail so that it will not grown back into an ingrown again. i would much appreciate it if you know one. thanks!

  • hey, does any one know any tricks to stop myself from compulsively picking my finger and toe nails? i cant take it anymore, i cant stop doing it. i suffer from ingrowns alltime on both big toes. my toenails are all stubs.

  • Oh I'm pissed at my doc then. When I went in about 2 years ago, he gave me a shot for the toe...but it wasn't enough to completely numb it. So without asking if I was ready, he just jammed his scissors in/under my nail and cut it out...I was in tremendous pain the whole day...but I did wake up feeling better :P

  • i might join the army but i have ingrown toenails and dont have healthcare is there something the army can do for me?

  • I think I have a spikual.

  • @GodzGamerz same, it sucks :/

  • how do u cure infected ingrown toenails please reply

  • Thanks for the question,

@bellybuiscut Infected ingrown townails are cured by having a podiatrist (an expert in toenail surgery) remove the ingrown piece of toenail. In some cases it may be necessary to take oral antibiotics for 7-10 days, but it depends upon how badly ingrown and/or infected the toenail has become.

Treating Ingrown Toenails at Home Today

  • @sanfranciscopodiatry yes this is exactly what happened to me i had to take anti biotics for a week and a half and i got the toenail fixed yesterday.

  • i dont cut my toenails at an angle or too short but im kind of starting to feel a pressure at the edge of my big toes. is this the beginning of an ingrown toenail?

  • it costed my dad 600 dollars at the hospital

  • The shot hurt a lil bit I got my nail remove 4days ago

  • how much did it cost you to do this????

  • Is it bad if you have two ingrown nails? Because I do. And im getting them treated by soking them in warm water and Epsom salt. How will this help? OH! and i tried doing "at home surgery" and i made it worse so now i have to get them removed! I keep hearing that the numbing shots hurt .....do they? Please respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BingoMcCormik no it doesnt really hurt. just kinda stings a bit when the medicine from the shots going in. not to bad. then after the shot you dont feel a thing. its gravy after that.

  • @Ashirley211 I posted this one year ago, I already got them fixed. I don't know what you are talking about, they hurt like hell. And one of them grew back ingrown. Now I have to go back. ugh.

  • Is the removal of an ingorwn toenail vital, or is it an optional thing for those whose ingrown toenail has become uncomfortable and iritiating?

  • at home i soak it in boiled salt water then i cut the middle of the nail to a V shape. Will this work???

  • @lifeXXrocks i think that it just makes it works.....but i dont really know.

  • If you wait long enough (we're talking months here) the "spicule" can come right out the top of your toe. Mine has done this several times but it is achingly slow and I would not recommend waiting. Im just terrified of surgery and when I go to my GP he gives me something for the infection, trouble is, when I use the cream for the infection, the pressure builds and the pain is immense. If I dont use the cream, there is infection but the pain is a little more tolerable. In short, GET IT TREATED

  • What do I do if my nail is already too short and it's ingrown

  • @blinginwatch If the toenail is too short, painful and ingrown, you should see a podiatrist before it becomes infected. Try to find one locally that makes house calls. I make house calls to treat ingrown toenails in San Francisco. Chances are you could find a housecalls podiatrist in your location as well. The earlier it is treated, the easier the treatment will be. Best of Luck!

  • that whole infected thing that was said in the video is what happened to me. but i dont think it was my fault becuase i never tried removing it myself. the doctor did the exact same procedure where he cut the entire side as seen in the video but it keeps coming back and now its infected!!! someone please help!!!!

  • @albertvillareal26 If you had the procedure where the border of the toenail is removed, and it became ingrown again, you may need a permanent ingrown toenail removal procedure. This procedure is similar, but makes it so the portion of the nail removed won't ever grow back. Call the podiatrist that treated you the first time and he should be able to fix it so you don't get another infected ingrown toenail again. Best of Luck!

Dr. Christopher Segler, San Francisco Podiatry House Calls

  • @sanfranciscopodiatry I think I have one and I think it is infected, sometimes pink pus oozes out and it's red n that side and the pain travels all the way up the ligament of my big toe. Do you think I should see a podiatrist?

  • O.O"

my nail actually comes out of the skin in the wrong direction and pierces into the surface of the skin and some of the dermis can be seen in the side yet i am terrified to have toenail surgery

    what do i do?

  • mine have little meet that came out what should i do ? please help me

  • @kawkwang eat it

  • @x0thraxxorx0 :L awesome
