three wheelers arent dangerous. its the inexperienced riders that make them dangerous. you can smack into a tree at 50 mph on a three wheeler , just the same as if you hit a tree going 50 on a dirt bike.

I grew up riding Honda ATC's at the farm and I would probably say the slow ATC's are the most dangerous. A fast atc has the luxury of sliding easily but a slow atc cannot take corners very well which is where new riders fail. I like the extra stability of a quad but like Rubbersalt said, nothing is faster than a "Good" ATC in tight sandy trails at the dunes.

i dunno...ive had Quadzillas, 2 Tecate 3's, a 82 Honda ATC250R, a Yamaha Tri-Z with a YZ490 engine (INSANE TRIKE)...a Honda ATC110 and various other 3 wheelers over 30 years. I only wrecked when i was being stupid on them. You just cant jump on anything (especially the insane 2 stroke bikes, trikes or quads) with no rider experience. 3 wheelers got banned because of stupid parents buying their 10 year olds something like a Tecate 3 for his first ride..when he should have had a 110 to learn on

@netrioter I was lucky to have a parent that started me on a Honda CT110 Trail and a ATC110 and then stepped me up to a ATC250R after a few years of riding....and ill tell ya this...a 82 had no extended back end and it still had ballon tires. It took me a year to even be brave enough to floor it...and 2 weeks after i got used to its power...i get busted for going 75 mph in a 40 at 12 years old. LOL. Its the rider..you give these to young kids and not teach them..then ANYTHING will hurt them

@MidwestMadness775 post it, because a well tuned tecate will keep up, if not smoke a banshee. This is of course a stock bike. A heavily modified Tecate is in several classes above a banshee.

@Lalann actually the 3 wheelers were blamed as dangerous, but that is not the case. 5 years after the ban the number of atv accidents and fatalitys was still about the same. 3 wheelers were just popular so accidents on them were popular. it is just as easy to crash any other atv/bike. they also tried to do the same with crotch rockets in the late 90's failed on that one though.

@Lalann Dirt bikes are lighter than 3 wheelers and they are not "death traps". And If you learned to ride a 3 wheeler, you would know that it's all in how you slide the rear-end. people think they can turn it like a quad and they flip over. you have to lean off the seat and slide it. As for 3-wheelers being faster, they are lighter than quads....but the biggest factor is THE RIDER!
