  • @greenvegan828 you are 1 arrogant prick! I'm a jockey in Britain and you obv don't know anything about racing! ALL jockeys love horses that's why we choose to do our job! We put our life's/careers on the line atleast 2 times a day! 364 days a year! Tony McCoy the greatest jockey of all time Is hard as nails and he still cries if he's riding a horse that get put down for whatever reason! RACEHORSES are looks after better than some HUMANS! You need to get a life and prob get a job coz most off

  • @mybigkindheart horses can't be saved from broken legs! And it's not just racing that they get shot in! Horses break legs and have to get shot from galloping in a field!

  • @Rossco2705 This isn't the 19th century. Horses don't get shot on the track anymore. If they are euthanized, it is done the same way dogs or cats are. Lethal injection of phenobarbitol or KCl.

  • I know that this isn't the racing's fault, or the jockeys, or anyones. Even though I could argue that I hate how trainers start horses before theyr're fully developed so their bones are weaker than a horse who wasn't started so soon :( But, accidents happen.

  • @Greenvegan828

Stop saying bad thing about Canada we are just like americans only we have more space, widerness, less people and we aren't as fat as some amaricans.

  • @MrMapleleaf77 I heard that Michael Moore is the President of Canada. Does Canada still give all of its money to the Queen of England? If this is the case, you can keep that place.

There are less FAT AMERICANS because you do not have any fast food joints except Jack ass in the box. Hey, do they deliver?

  • @Greenvegan828 You didn't notice that america and canada is almost the same? Whe are not fat neither are you so stop insulting whats different than you

  • @TheHorseLuverForever They are not the same. Trust me.

  • @Greenvegan828 Actually, I don't believe that Canada has Jack in the Box. And no, we don't give our money to the Queen anymore, at least since 1982... And puh-lease, for the love of GAWD, keep Michael Moore!! You guys have bigger weapons to deal with him more effectively. Just sayin.'

  • Really, horse racing without the jockeys?!!?!? What are you 12?

  • @Angkad No, are you 5? JOCKEYS are NOT NEEDED. Save money.

  • Whooaah :L ooop. xx

  • The problem is there should be NO JOCKEYS. Run horses like GREYHOUNDS. These midgets could be shipped back to their countries. The extra money for the purses could be used for retirement homes for the horses. Get rid of the CROOKED JOCKEYS/

  • @Greenvegan828 midgets huh? how about you think of people's feelings and realize not everyone can be six foot four!

  • @kkpanda13 I think people should body slam those fidgets. I suggested to the racing association to race horses WITH OUT jockeys. Why? This would save MILLIONS and of course, send most of these worthless slugs back to their native countries.

  • @Greenvegan828 kid its aginst the rules to have a youtube account if your under thirteen. Now then how in fuck's name can you even think a horse is smart enough to know to gain position in the herd running without a superior thing telling it to? Get a radio on its neck and say "hey go to first and win" ?

  • @TheDragonLake Jockeys are stiffing midgets that need to be deported. If a faster horse runs against an inferior horse, it will beat it EVERY time unless it is sick or drugged. FACT. Get rid of those FIDGETS.

  • OW!!!!!!!

  • Shit happens....

  • The filly who caused the wreck, Private Details, was a 3YO(Tr. John Terranova) whose L front leg snapped, euthanized on the track. Jockey didn't cause this tragedy and neither did "racing" in general... On 01/23/2010 Honest Wildcat 3YO filly (Tr. John Terranova) broke her L front cannon near the 3/8 pole, did a sumersault, euthanized on the track. Jockey Richard Migliore suffered a severe concussion, also at Aqueduct. DO THE MATH.

  • @LJBroussard people who put these animals to sleep just over a broken leg should be shot dead too

  • Yes, there are people who care about horses. There needs to be better policing of the sports. I am not a big fan of jockeys. I wish that some of them can be dropped on their midget heads or deported to Canada.

  • @Greenvegan828 Sure bring them to Canada. Full time jobs, You can buy a house and not have it repossessed and the healthcare is better. Hell of an idea.

  • if you look closely you'll see 2 of the horses get up and gallop off

  • @FanOBarbaro i saw 3, the grey was getting up just as the camera moved.....

  • I think this might have ended a little better if the horses jumped over the fallen one...that would have saved them and it a lot of pain. Plus it would be cool to watch.

  • WOAH! It's the BIG ONE!!!

  • [iminent=fFQRHhUL1VEE] wow

  • two of these horses that fell came back the next race and broke their maidens..

  • @bigtimebrent (just messin with you), but BOTH horses cannot come back in the (same) next race and break their maidens!

  • IF i wasnt involved in the accident i would have stopped and turned around

  • @JustinBieberluver794 Race horses arent exactly the easiest to "stop and turn around" just fyi.

  • @chantellini ik.... i was jk

  • @JustinBieberluver794 Hows is that even remotely funny? haha seriously?

  • @chantellini wow are we rilly arguing over my comment. its fine okay?

  • @JustinBieberluver794 Im not arguing at all actually, just clearly stating a point. ;)

  • @chantellini okay well i get ur point........

  • @JustinBieberluver794 good stuff

  • Look, two horses got up and started to follow the other horses. They werent injured. All horses survived this accident. I have seen worse accidents in cross country and other equestrian sports. I believe horse racing is like any other horse sport. You have the good people and the bad. Accidents will happen, but most of the time horses survive with little to no injury.

  • @RuffianZenyatta15 Actually Private Details, the horse that broke down and started the chain reaction, broke her left front cannon bone and was put down. The rest of the horses involved went on to race again.

  • my dad was the jockey on tht horse(mike luzzi)

  • horse racing is a sport for horses and accident like these happens like in any other sport. and if it wasnt for horse racing lots of horses would be suffering of hunger or would be in poor conditions from ppl that wouldnt give a shit

  • horse racing is a sport for horse. they can break a leg or something like that

  • hope the jockeys got crippled. assholes.

  • man= 0

    horses= 1

  • Multikill !!!!

  • Private Details had a hard fall!

  • I love all animals, and I do believe they have souls, but I would not equate euthanizing an animal who is in pain with the word "murder". I think "put down" or even "slaughter" would be fine. It's important culturally that we maintain a separation of words.

  • oh poor babies </3 i hope the horses and jockeys were ok ]:

  • Holly

  • to all of those hating on this sport if you don't like it don't watch it. I work in the horse racing industry I think anyone in the industry along with myself can say that we take good care of our horses and riders. Sure there are good and bad trainers or people but thats life in general. These horses LOVE to run if they didn't they wouldn't , thats all they want to do runrunrun. This sport is great. As a rider you can tell the difference.

  • Racing isn't cruel in SOME cases. SOME. It's not the horses fault really..

Some people FAIL at riding , so they make it look like it was the horses

fault horse gets blamed , is disowned . Possibly killed unless someones nice enough to fucking take it.

  • horrible crash, I agree but this isn't cruel. I have worked with TBs and they LOVE to run!! if they don't want to then they aren't, simple as that! if a horse doesn't want to do something then most of the time they won't be made to because they fight it and it is no longer fun for the horse or rider.

  • @PrincessChanellita No, it is not.

  • Not all the horses got up. #5 broke a leg, and that's how the spill started.

  • heftig und aowas zeigt man!

  • If you notice, all the horses get up and so do all the jockeys. Horrible accident i must admit but it looks to be that everyone it fine, possibly quite a few bruises. Horses are very hardy animals, even TB's. A fall like that in 9/10 cases wouldnt injure a horse. Luckily the jockeys were thrown clear.

  • I have one thing to say, there is no problem with this, period. So shutup and stop arguing

  • @Gravy Snifter In the words of Antoine Dodson...YOU ARE SO DUMB! YOU ARE REALLY DUMB! Obviously, you don't know a single thing about horses. I am a barrel racer, and accidents do happen, in the arena and on the track. HORSES LOVE TO RUN. IT'S IN THEIR NATURE. SO UNTIL YOU LEARN SOMETHING AND ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, MAYBE YOU SHOULD QUIT CALLING ACCIDENTS MURDERS.

  • WHY ON EVERY YOUTUBE VIDEO I HAVE TO BE PREPARED FOR A WAR IN THE COMMENT SECTION???

  • OMG :O

  • Those horses aren't 'forced' to do anything. They LOVE to run because it's what they do best. Furthermore, they aren't being 'murdered.' It kind of negates the point of the whole process.

If you want a good cause, how about you talk about all the wild horses that are currently being shipped out of the US to Canada and Mexico to be slaughtered, just because they're disturbing the oil companies' productivity or some such nonsense. THAT'S a cause worth getting pissed about.

  • @mrsphelps56

as 2 yr olds YES they are forced, why do you think they use whips? because a horse's instinct is to flee. at 2 yrs old their knee's aren't fused together, why do you think %50 of ex-race horses have leg problems? if they even make it to a second home. now if they were running them as 4 and 5 yr olds, it would be different.

  • haha its funny how the guy talking is so calm. sounds like he doesnt care that much.

  • @Sammmm80 Are you kidding?! Of course he was concerned the tone in his voice dramatically drops after the spill. Still, he's the announcer and two horses were still racing so he has to do his job.

  • @bubblinbrownsugar616 chill out dude. all i said was that it didnt SOUND like he cared. i never said he didnt. cool your jets it was just a comment. no big deal.

  • @Sammmm80 you cant keep your comments straight, an since you dont care about horse acing, you obviously watch these posts for the gore.....youre a big faggot and you chill the fuck out...dont botherresponding either asshole

  • @Sammmm80 no he wasnt upset you fucking idiot the guy talking is the race caller obviously you know nothing about racing you hick

  • @bigtimcny it was just a comment. calm yourself. and your right. i dont know anything about racing. so what? i really dont care. no need to make a big deal out of it.

  • did they died?

  • If a horse doesn't want to do something THEY WON'T DO IT. The majority of race horses love to run. The horses who sustain life threatening injuries are euthanised on site to relieve their suffering. And also, most race horses are treated like children and are VERY well cared for. I say most, unfortunately not all. But these animals are the lives & businesses of the people who own/train/ride them. It's against their best interests to take poor care of their horses.

  • @EbonyLover4Ever your mom wont let you post videos, nuff said. get lost

  • A horse can easily break its leg in a paddock as easily as it can in a race. It has happened. And they don't "shoot" the horses anymore. They have the facilities to do so at many vetinarian places to repair the leg and keep the horse off it comfortably until the leg has healed. Well... Mostly comfortably considering it's a sling.

Technology has improved vastly over the years. And I've seen Barbaro in his last race and wept with America during his breakdown, I have read of others, and I love it

  • Gosh the announcer doesn't sound happy at all. Aren't they supposed to be excited for whoever's winning and placing? This guy sounds like someone kicked his dog.

  • *sigh* For those commenting on this video with the uninformed "slow horses go to slaughter and racetrackers don't care" line: I work in the racing industry. I also work at a farm with some incredible retired thoroughbreds. I know that a lot of trainers/owners DO work hard to make sure their horses have good lives after the track. There are a few bad apples out there who I'd like to see hung for how they disregard their animals. But please don't lump the majority of us in with those few asshats.

  • @SaratogaDreamer Thank you! Some one who knows what their talking about :)

  • @SaratogaDreamer Uhm, it's hanged not hung. =)

  • Youd be stoked if you had the quinella

  • Only Private Details was euthanized due to her sustaining a broken left foreleg. The other 4 horses involved in the spill were unhurt.

  • if this is going to be a common thing then we should make horse racing illegal you know.

  • @Haflingers96 its not a common thing, I watch horseracing all the time and breakdowns don`t occur very often and when they do, its normally treatable. Its not very often that a horse is euthanized.

  • hints the reason i dont like horse racing i have road horses my hole life accidents happen i know but they are raced way to young!!!

  • Whew! Good thing I put my bet on Southern Oaks!

  • @roamingcandle Sometimes horses "clip heels" with another horse and it is not the jockeys fault.

  • @roamingcandle a simple twist of a hand maybe, or he fell forward into the horse. I don't know.

  • You can't just become a Jockey for the money. You have to live and breath the life. Jockeying takes passion and desire to push farther.

  • i feel more sorry for the horses than the humans...

  • @Ninaki13th the horses are in perfect condition. they are healthy and happy. You have nothing to worry about.

  • Have you checked out this guy's WALLPAPER?? He's obsessed with horses enduring tragedy! I'm not surprised he calls merciful euthanasia murder! He'd rather see them suffer!!

  • @GravySnifter so why DO you claim murder? If an eventing or barrel horse broke a leg competing would that be murder also?

  • @GravySnifter umm not really you are stupid

  • @GravySnifter You are an idiot. Horse racing doesnt please humans. It pleases gamblers and sheiks. Both of which are considered unholy in the Bible. What I'm getting at here is that it doesnt matter if a horse dies under any circumstance. It creates more food for dogs, and creates less work for the Mexicans working in the horse barns for these millionaires with their race horses. You should devote your life to a more worthwhile hobby like trying to lay off the patchouli oil you hippy basterd.

  • @GravySnifter would you rather see the horse suffer in pain? when people put down horses it cause it the best for the horse

  • @GravySnifter actually most horses want and like to do these things but when they decide enough is enough the do something about it. I should know, I have ridden many horses in my life so far... And you dont have a right to tell me to get lost!

  • @GravySnifter NO actually it's not. Usually it's euthanized! You're sick and need to see someone about this... and I looked at your channel... yeah only five STUPID people agree with you.... So seriously it's NOT murder! Look it up!!!

  • @GravySnifter its all about the owners hands and how they handle and treat the animals. any tool in the wrong hands can be a weapon. and there are very few people who are able to " force" a 1200 pound animal to do what they want. training which in the horses world also means COMMUNICATING is a way to express to you horse what youre asking, in turn the horse express how they feel about things and we adjust our methods accordingly trying our best not to hurt or do the wrong thing.

  • @GravySnifter (#2)

misinterpretations happen and we are human and sometimes we make mistakes. but i train horses and my whole life is horses and my babies run to the gate when they see my car comming down the road. one of my old horses Babe used to meet me every morning with her halter in her mouth excited to explore and do things. my horses and i have such a good relationship i do lots with them at liberty.

  • @GravySnifter (#3)

i have rescued many race horses and do not agree with most of what goes on there but that doesnt mean everyones like this or that animals arent meant to be companions or do sports. i really wish i could show you for a day how much my own animals, aswell as my close friends', love to do "work" as we call it- to our animals who are naturally suited and enjoy it they see it as "hobby/interests".

  • @GravySnifter Horses do these things because they like it. You wouldn't ever see these horses doing things they don't like because they would suck at it. The good racehorses are only good because they enjoy running. The good jumping horses are good only because they like jumping. Same case with gamers, drivers, dressage horses, etc.

  • @TheHorseLady1212 You're a fuckin' idiot.

  • @TheDisfigured Maybe I wasn't clear enough...Let me put it in terms you can understand. If you suck at playing basketball, would you keep playing basketball or try your hand at something else? If you had a dog who wasn't good at catching a Frisbee, but was really good at agility trials, would you keep doing the Frisbee tournament or start training in agility?

People won't keep spending money and time making a horse do something if he sucks at it. It makes no sense. They'd find something else.

  • @TheHorseLady1212 It's a risk to the horse that is uneeded. If I like doin' meth, and I smoke it REALLY well, doesn't mean I fuckin' should. Nevermind, I'm retarded for arguing on Youtube anyway.

  • @TheHorseLady1212 Im not trying to start anything, but no... horses don't race because they like it, but rather because they are trained to do it. Horses are not naturally made to jump. If it can, a horse will go around an obstacle. It still doesn't mean that they don't enjoy it or aren't good at it. Horse racing is unnatural. If you place horses in the wild, they dont race. Horses save energy when they can. They race because we want to do it, and being loyal faithful animals, they let us do it.

  • @HorseLvrArtwork Sure you can train a horse to run, but it's the ones who love doing and have the heart for it that win. The losers end up getting relocated, slaughtered, or sold to God knows where. Same goes for jumping. Once you teach them how to do it, the ones that enjoy it will try their heart out and win.

And I agree that horse racing is unnatural... I wish they'd wait another year or two before running them so hard :/ Less accidents like this.

  • @TheHorseLady1212 Fair points there. I don't really like racing tbh. Some racehorses start their career when they are 3 years old, which is really quite sad as they are not fully mature yet. :(

  • @HorseLvrArtwork my horses race all the time my dad us to put all his mares out to paster and they would always race eache other so dont say they wouldnt normaly do that

  • @HorseLvrArtwork i totally agree with u ..well written ty =)

yes horses like to play around in their pastures..but race eachother for a mile ? no freking way lol

  • @lakota123max THHHHANNNNK YOOU.

Ok, maybe yes. Actually, horses do race each other, but only for a short distance, to usually show stamina and dominance, which is why when they do do it, its usually young males. :) And yes. You are absolutely right, - horses do not race for a freaking mile for the hell of it.

  • @GravySnifter dude, im not trying to start anything, but no. murder is deliberate. Horseracing is not murder. When people race horses, its for pleasure, to gamble. A jockey does not race horses to murder them. When horses die as a result of something people do for pleasure, it is usually a mistake, or the rider not knowing how to control or deal with horses. The only part when it is sort of murder is when there is betting on horse fighting , putting two stallions to fight till the end.

  • @94gunsmoke yep, besides murder sounds more dramatic. : P

  • @94gunsmoke Merciful euthanasia is murder. It's literally the same thing as any other murder, just not painful. So he's right.

  • @Shaffassi but letting a horse forever live in pain is torture. Euthanasia all the way in necessary cases.

  • omg i hope they are all ok!

  • Whats with all these dumb titles for videos on Youtube. Like others have said there are no murders and where is evidence or deathe an injury. Another joker looking for attention..geeez..

I think GravySnifter was sniffing some pretty spicy gravy

  • @GravySnifter leave youtube? The entire youtube? You have no right to ask anyone to leave the entire youtube! They`re just as welcome as you are! Just becuase someone has a different opinion doesn`t give you the right to leave the entire youtube. I LOVE RACING! Should I leave youtube as well? Maybe youtube should be PETA`s video center, lacking varied opinions and showing the world only one side of things. I suppose even just being on a horse`s back is cruel as well?

  • @GravySnifter You are not welcome here, you are the weakest link. GKYS.

  • @GravySnifter Dude, you're weird. I'm going to loudly demand that you see a shrink!

  • @GravySnifter Not for you to decide. Besides: People trip, horses in the meadow trip and CAN get hurt. Horses can also pull amazing tricks and falls without getting hurt. Speaking out of personal knowledge of this industry in various countries: These horses have a way better life than many backyard ponies. Every day I pass by two Shetlands standing in a mudpool. No grass nor care. Rather worry about those poor sods being starved and neglected and others out there that suffer the same faith.

  • @GravySnifter dont worry, i am on your side.

  • These are NOT murders.

  • what i dont get is when these sort of things happen how can they keep going id stop and help

  • who was the moron who called it a murder? what an idiot. is it a murder when a parent wakes their kid up and forces them to go to school, and they get run over by a bus on the way? should the parents be put on trial for murder? its part of life. shit happens sometimes. and you know what? if these animals were not being trained and so well taken care of to race, there would be a hell of a lot more of them being sent to slaughter and eaten. it is their ability to race that prevents that.

  • They never have horse steaks or horse burgers at races ?

Would eb a good idea dont you think ?

  • *sighs* Really, the only people who think that horse racing is bad are generally people who have no idea what it really is. Honestly, these horses would be miserable if they didn't race. I'm not saying every TB is like that, but most have the desire to run and the competative spirit. If they didn't, they wouldn't be any good and they wouldn't be raced. That's how it works. Horse LOVE to be under tack, they are companion animals (like dogs) and really enjoy working for people. That being said...

  • (continuing from last post) ... there ARE problems with the racing industry that should be addressed, but most savvy horsepeople know what they are. It's not perfect, just like anything out there, and it is our responsiblity to care for these beautiful animals properly, but ending racing isn't one of them.

  • @Starlilica BUT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHIPED FOR SPEED AND DONT COME OFF BEING MEAN IM JUST SAYING THEY ALSO GIVE THEM DRUGS BEFORE THE RACE SO THEY DONT BLEED PLUS RUNNING NON STOP .....ISNT THAT A NICE WAY TO LIVE

  • @cdukes1129 Sources, or it didn't happen. I really get the feeling that you've never even met a horse before. Also, typing in all caps gives you zero validation to your arguements.

  • I know that this is mean and I'm probably a bad person but I kinda found it funny that they all fell over like dominoes

  • Le corse mi appassionano da sempre! Ultimamente scommetto con TotoSi e vincere qualche soldino rende il brivido della corsa ancora più intenso. ;)

  • @pieface172 This happens all over. Europe and Australia too.

  • :O poor horses i dont give a damn about the jockeys just the horses :P

  • Thats why you should not race horses in SAND they trip up!!!!!

  • The first horse that fell we all know where the poor things headed... END HORSE RACING!

  • @WestlifeFan1995 i agree because some horses get sold

for meat if they don't meet there potenshal.

and they drug them too....END HORSE RACING!!!

  • @Shimstock74 If it wasn't for horse racing, none of these animals would exist...they were bred to race...end Shimstock!

  • @altohart THATS A LIE THEY WERE MADE TOO RUN FREE ON GRASS LAND WE WERE MADE TO RACE THEM THEN AFTER A RACE THE SLOW HORSE GO TO SLAUGHTER SO NO WE ARE KILLING HORSES REAL MEANING.

  • @WestlifeFan1995 i agree because some horses get sold

for meat if they don't meet there potenshal.

and they drug them too....END HORSE RACING!!!

  • I bet this race and saw it live. Think I had the winner too.

  • 'a horrible accident resulting in murders and injuries?'

    murders?

  • Does anyone know if any jockeys or horses died in this accident?

  • no third dividend!!!!!

  • it happens

  • it happens

  • believe it or not, only one horse had to be put down. the rest suffered only minor injuries and were able to race again. all you animal rights wackos can clam up.

  • Yea honestly you HAVE to love horses to be in the industry.

  • im a jockey in australia myself but i currently injured at presant from a racefall WTF u mean by resulting in murders falls are part of the game no murders in this clip just a bad day at work

  • i also know that most jockeys do not (unless they are at the top of the game like Mike Smith or Edgar Prado) make a lot of money doing this..you could make less than 1k a week..and i have seen my fair share of horse racing accidents and injuries and yes the horses were sometimes euthanized and yes it is sad,but in the back of my mind i knew it was best

  • Horses run because they love to run, horses compete because they love to compete... They can be around 1200 pounds do you think they would compete if they didn't want to? 1200 pound horse against a 170 pound human... Their athletes, when that person who was practicing at the luge got killed before the olympics nobody was saying that luge was cruel... Horses aren't dogs, or cats, there hard working creatures and city people don't understand that.

  • The commentator actually sounds upset, i don't really like horse racing but when some people say that cruel and it should be banned i would have to disagree because, they are bred to race and it is in thier blood. You see draft horses that pull a massive amount around, couldn't that be classed as cruel? You can't tell what the are actually thinking so it's just one of them things.

  • @tommyrowe88.....yea you sound tough talkin about people who weigh 123lbs

  • @UrGatorBaitFLA or less lol

  • @tommyrowe88 it isn't

  • @tommyrowe88 u obvoiusly have nothing to do with the sport u know nothing about what goes on behind the scenes...i love my racehorses more than u can imagine and they get better care than me. they love what they do...no human can make a horse run that doesnt want to.

  • @ Beatle I agree, other horses such as Invasor, and Seattle Slew were always rearing to get on the track, ears pricked. So people don't say all horses are forced to run, most want to.

  • Murder is when you intend to kill soemthing. ACCIDENT

  • I know, i love horse racing. I want to own a barn of race horses one day. My biggest dream xD but at times when given illigle[not good at spelling today] and bad drugings that is counted as cruelty. Not saying horse racing is crule, just how once in a blue moon owners and trainers play the game on a few horses. Anyway, I hope these horses were put down if in to much pain to live. Once again, don't start reply raging about what I said. just at points bad line are crossed in racing.

  • This isn't murder its an accident

  • Murder is ponying a horse around the track five or six times then tying it to a tree, after that beating it to the point where it's neck snaps. THAT is Murder. THAT is cruelty and as long as humans are on this earth there will always be cruelty towards animals and people.

  • Murder is not the word. Accident.
