Mums Xr6 2006 model cost about $24000, but the xr8's are about $30000 and they are really close to the FPV-GT's..

thing is, falcons have borrowed heavily from mustangs over the years powertrain wise. rumour has it that ford australia wants to bring the 410kW supercharged V8 over here for our GT HO to compete with HSV's W427. i know id rather have a blown twin cam than a 7 litre crate motor from the USA

@ItMakesMorePowerMate Glad you put the "USA" part in because that's where the engine is from, as is in the HSV V8 range. The F6 is the last remaining "Australian" muscle car (except the ZF auto German trans) and literally shits all over the current V8 range for way less $ too . Cheers :)

thanks for the comment. I can see you are an HSV lover. Its good to see people who are not one-eyed, biased. Ive owned both Holdens and Fords and love them both. The sound from quad cam V8 on this one is the best Ive tasted so far

Engine remains unopened. Ive replaced the entire exhaust with pacemaker extractors, ultra hi-flo cats and 2.5" stainless exhaust, plus I'm running a CAPA reflash box with custom tune. All adds up to around 370KW @ flywheel

Very good gains there, Ive got a similar exhaust on my xr8 (pacies 4 into 1's) etc. Just wondering what you picked up with the edit. I gather as its a custom tune that these numbers where on a dyno, so job well done!

I didnt note the edit value on its own but initial work of exhaust/tune went from 290 to 346KW done on a new engine. At 15000km I installed the ultra hi-flo cats & retuned and it jumped 370KW. With around 630NM of torque and no low down flat spots. While the performance is brilliant, the sound is absolutely superb, it's a shame that crappy phone cameras dont do the real sound any justice. mitchellowens182 has loaded a recording of me in the garage, check out the noise on that one too
