hello sir I am Vineel Morris from India there is a problem on replacing my motorcycle air filter. its a Honda CB Twister (110cc,9 bhp engine) it has Paper Filter & filter is in a box . I want to increase its performance by changing the filter. but i have a 2 problems .one is i don't know which size of filter have to use & the another one is two more small tubes coming from the engine to the air filter box ( like the GY6 air filter box ) i don't know what to do with that .i know you can help me

@chickumorris hi i would say that you will not gain much from changing only the air filter but you might eventually loose power, if the filter is round you could look for a motocross sponge airfilter, they come with a spring hose collar to be fitted on the carburettor flange ( tube from air/filter box to carb. ) this one has to be adapted to your airbox sponge filter, if it's a squared filter you can buy a performance sponge panel to be cutten as liked the rip the paper off your filter and

@chickumorris stick two layers of sponge instead. at this point you could change the main carburettor jet put one in that is a little bigger and you'll notice a slight increase but the most effective mod would be to open (cut) the exhaust and take the catalyzer cells out than weld it again the engine will thank you and give you eventually 1 or 2 hp

my scooter has a mrp 63mm with a 30mm carb it has gone up to 97mph on flat terrain

OK, I hope you can understand that this is a TV show so they purposely do some things to be funny or just to make the show last longer. They wouldnt do well on TV if it was just technical info. If you want tech talk get a Haynes Manual, this is more for the everyday person who watches the show on a Saturday afternoon you have to make interesting and fun. We know not to put in a piston backwards or not to cross two wires but when you watch the show keep that in mind.

what a piece of crap scooter,my Kymco 150 does 64 without mods my honda dylan 150 did 75 without mods. if you put a 170cc on that with other gears, airfilter and rejetting you wil get 85 and stil get 90mpg

It takes a real "know how" to make right parts and even to work right with the rest of it...

Take example like the Burt Munro. He made his own pistons, cylinder heads, camshaft... All home made...

I had my 124cc doing 72 with a muffler change and a 2mm bigger Mikuni carb with K&N filter, Racing CDI, Coil and racing clutch.
