She also does free public events on a regular basis.

From my own personal experience, this process of inquiry frees me from any stress or suffering my thoughts bring me. As soon as a stressful thought comes up, I question it, and any anxiety or frustration, etc. I am feeling, just seems to melt away. I find a profound peace after doing The Work.
Well I couldn't afford to go to one of her $3,500 dollar seminars, I needed more money. When I see her give away her millions and take on robes and a begging bowl and teach for nothing I'll believe that she believes. She can give her house and millions to me!
She offers tons of worksheet downloads, as well as lots of free information about the work and how to do it- All For Free- online. You can watch these videos for free, and her books are readily available in public libraries. What more do you want noonefound?
Even i feel the same, she does charge a lot, what for! People like nasargadatta and krishnamurthi gave free discourses. May be this is the American way or may be this is reality of the world!!!? I dont know. I am from India and i love her work but i dont think i can afford it. However I would be happy if she did make a trip to India once for us.

It is an illusion that you can possess anything. Money is the fysical form of that illusion.
The Matrix connects us in a natural way with life. Everything is allready there, we are born that way.
The Patrix tries to connect us in an unnatural hierarchie. In that way we are not connected with life.

It makes sense that we live in an unnatural hierarchy. Money is manmade therefore not natural, and everything around is hierarchical. Sometimes it's not fair on the people on the bottom of the hierarchy (or, let's face it, it's NEVER fair on them!).
But despite being unnatural and entirely manmade, it is still real and inescapable for almost all people.
By the way, do you actually have a job or spend money in any way? If you do then how would you propose to live without your job and income?

OK I don't actually have any kids myself (it was a theoretical situation I was talking about), but I understand other people do, and they of course would need money to feed their kid/s.

Well said John2o2o. I can't quite see why people are criticising Byron Katie for charging money for her seminars. Do they expect plumbers and electricians and mailmen and doctors to work for free? Do THEY do their work for free? Everything you need to do The Work is available at no cost on Katie's website, and she posts videos of her seminars for free on YouTube. She also does free public events on a regular basis.

Actually, elsewhere Katie reveals that her husband was once made homeless - it didn't ruin his life. I have a therapist friend who was on the streets at 16 - now in comfortable retirement. Doesn't have to be permanent, doesn't have to be the end. The folks in the auditorium agreed that you don't need more money since they could all afford a ticket. The ReaganClintonBush homeless outside, who couldn't get in, may have had a different idea ;') I'm not being cynical here, but hard-working people who have become disabled, for instance, and have then been ruined by our "healthcare" system, may have Real worries that spiritual yuppies don't. I really do think we need a spiritual revolution to change things, but we need vast social change, too.

From my own personal experience, this process of inquiry frees me from any stress or suffering my thoughts bring me. As soon as a stressful thought comes up, I question it, and any anxiety or frustration, etc. I am feeling, just seems to melt away. I find a profound peace after doing The Work.

Well I couldn't afford to go to one of her $3,500 dollar seminars, I needed more money. When I see her give away her millions and take on robes and a begging bowl and teach for nothing I'll believe that she believes. She can give her house and millions to me!

She offers tons of worksheet downloads, as well as lots of free information about the work and how to do it- All For Free- online. You can watch these videos for free, and her books are readily available in public libraries. What more do you want noonefound?

Even i feel the same, she does charge a lot, what for! People like nasargadatta and krishnamurthi gave free discourses. May be this is the American way or may be this is reality of the world!!!? I dont know. I am from India and i love her work but i dont think i can afford it. However I would be happy if she did make a trip to India once for us.

I also have heard she gives scholarships and financial aid.
