I have to agree with Brenna hayfield. I did a Nile cruise in 1983 when the river and the sites were almost deserted and it was a superb experience. I went back in 2006 and returned to mass tourism hell. The archaeological sites were still magnificent but all too often the experience of visiting them had been destroyed.
The first time I went to Egypt there were only 4 tourist boats on the river. No big cruisers. Ours only held 30 people plus staff. I think it's sad how it's so congested with tourists these days. It would not be the same if I went back now. :(
Great video! Brought back memories of when we did that (my wife is Egyptian) 7 years ago. Did you have the kids on the river bank throwing the plastic film cases on deck to throw money back in? LOL!
You make the comparison with driving hayfield. Would you rather be driving along an empty road or be stuck in a traffic jam.

i was in aswan the boats were excelent we used 2 hire a faluka witch is a small boat 4 about £25 a day well worth it
