Grenadiers are soo bad ass. Too bad it's much different in modern warfare today. Back in the 1700s grenadiers have to be huge and can chuck bomb really far. They even wear those big hats to make them look more aggressive. For Brits it's those puffy hats, for the French and Prussians, their hats are more cone like. Some think they're funny looking but it's really more of tradition.
1:05 - The music that announces the arrival of any British forces anywhere, and also announces that a world of hurt is about to come crashing into you.
@transonicbuoy1 That'd be a great way to respond to any mosques seeking to blast their call to prayers on loudspeaker into the suburbs of any Western country! 5 times a day as a response to their call, redcoats come marching down the street with SA80's, music and NCO's barking orders just for lols.
my son was in No 7 guard, 'F' coy Scots guards, i was sat in front of the chelsea pensioners, just to the left of where this vid was taken, all of the lads in the guards should be extreamly proud of themselves, for people that dont know ,these lads have put in hours upon hours of rehersals, kit inspections etc as well as having to carry out guard duties at all the royal palaces and castles. It makes you proud to be a Brit.
You should be very proud of your son. F Coy always seems to shine in these things, and I've been watching from across the Pond since 2005 and listening on radio before that.
Great video, just makes you realise how difficult this stuff can be and how much discipline/practice it takes to pull it off. Which is why the British Army, despite budget constraints and all the rest, is still amongst the best in the World.
He appears to give some advice to one of his guardsmen and then fall back into his proper position. If you look closely, he inclines his head slightly to the left as he shouts at him.

Having taken part in a parade like this during National Service....I know exactly what preparations and rehearsals are required to perfect the drill:
The music at the beginning is the ....St Patrick's Day March:
Ex: 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards

Did I actually just see them do a turn *during* a form to move the formation forward a few paces and then resume the form?
Amazing.

Hmm, the line either seems to be snaking in the middle, or some of the arm swings seem to be going out of sync, difficult to see.
