The only thing the Louisiana government can do for them is charity donations, temporary shelters and food stamps, and it is not just Blacks. The media frames Blacks and makes them think that Blacks are lazy, bad, etc for money. The government needed to do something, if nothings done, then the people would feel abandoned.

I was in an airplane on my way to Mexico when we passed Katrina!!!! Little did we know what damage (and losses) it would cost on the ground just a few hours later!!!

I still remember this huge wall of dark-brown, circulating clouds with stripes of pink and a rusty-brown. It looked beautiful but superscary. I had a friend who lived down along the gulf coast, a bit inland but in the path of Katrina. The last thing I remember her telling me was that her family was preparing for the storm (a few days before Katrina made landfall). I never heard from her after that.

Katrina received more & harsher warnings than any other hurricane I have experience before or even after. They actually had govmt officals on radio & TV saying this could potenitally wipe out NOLA completely & may be the worst natural disaster ever.
