@blingv007 - They are not made anymore but they regularly show up on eBay. If you want one like the one shown here in the video just make sure that the one you bid on is run on electricity and has a spigot for foaming milk.
I have used the machine to foam only. But getting the correct amount of water into the reservoir is a little tricky. I always use the coffee pot to make sure I'm not going to have a spill over of water. You can get a good microfoam with this vesuviana.
the gaskets fail because of the heat, if you leave the pot dry, or not enough water in it to create pressure, or leave it too long. It happens all the time. I got a spare but will probably get a couple more as the site is so rarefied who knows if it will be around forever.
Thank you, Delaware! This will be most useful, although we've now managed to file down the incorrectly sized gasket we purchased and don't expect we'll have to change it again in our lifetime. (Hope I didn't jinx anything by saying that....)
We’ve found that some tamping is necessary, but you’re right that heavy tamping makes for poorer coffee. But we have found that it’s absolutely essential to lightly tamp the coffee so there are no air bubbles and the surface of the ground coffee is smooth. Also the rim of the coffee holder has to to be absolutely clean to eliminate any chance of leaking.

tamping not recommended according to the Vesuviana Owners Club of Nerac 47, France and I agree too for best results.
