I just bought this mic with a filter and stand. But im having some trouble getting hooked up to my computer, I followed all the instuctions. And i got to step 9 on how to set it up with windows XP. What audio recording software am I needing?
hey man i just wanted to know that this CAD U37 USB Studio Condenser Recording Microphone is suitable for recording a rap song? does it sounds good please help me with this thing and does it worth's?
ok i need help.i record metal with vocals tht sound like lamb of god, pantera etc.would this mic be good for tht or would it still pick up a shitty sound
@caseyjones67 It would be OK, not really much for loud vocals such as what you are trying to do, it is more of a podcasting mic, but you should really try it out with a pop filter and it could work for you!
By the way, you really only need the pop filter if, like me, you do a lot of voiceover. Just for music when you are off the mic over 3 feet or so, it won't pop. Ten bucks for a pop filter and another 10 for a real mic stand help a lot. The stand it comes with blows chunks.
It is amazing the mics that are out there now. I just ordered an Apex 440 that has a 35mm Diaphram on it! IT IS HUGE--EIGHTY BUCKS! If anyone wants to hear my videos with the Cad U37 (music montages) to hear the quality just click on my name and go to the channel. Lare
@svetkaw72 Yes there are a couple that can work for this it has an irregular circumference not circular more like squarish so finding a good shockmount would be easy but hard at the same time.

@teendottie Hello, when using XP I'd use audacity. It should work well with that.

You'd be better off getting an Editors Keys SL150 (and a pop filter of course).
It has a larger diaphragm so is better for recording vocals on.
Costs a bit more, but it's well worth the money.
It comes with a shock mount, but you'll still need a stand (if you don't have one already).

If it is for a Republican talk show...wouldn't it be more fitting to use a tin can and string?
