To each his own. I'm not here to rebel-rouse, but I was epically disappointed with this movie. I read every issue of the comic. It was my favorite. This movie, however, kicked the comics in the sack. Monet was supposed to be snobby & autistic, not a b*tch. Mondo was a beefy Samoan, not a scrawny smart-*ss. They DID nail Jubilee, I'll give them credit. Sean & Emma...not bad but could have been better. HOWEVER replacing Jono & Paige for Buff & Refrax?! I understand it was for budgeting but C'MON!
this movie, REALLY, is NOT that bad! yeah, it had some cheesy effects, but all the characters were awesome. matt frewer was so damn great in this, even if he was kinda doing a jim carrey impression the whole movie. haters, hate on, but i watch this movie every 6 months or so. too good to be missed
I remember begging my dad to stay up and watch this movie hahaha it was pretty cool for its time. I miss Tuesday night movies on for after the Simpsons, home improvement and martin.
I remember not being able to wait for this to finally come out. I followed the comics closely then was disappointed when it didn't get turned into a series and all characters they just THREW IN!!
I am not quite sure how any true X-men fans at the time this was made could have expected anything else from Generation X, since Generation X was an already existing X-men spin-off comic at the time this was made. Anyone who knew anything about the X-Men universe at the time should have fully expected this would not be about or include any of the big name X-men except perhaps in cameos.
Everything cheesy from the 1950s - 1990s is fucking awesome lol. I was thinking about the flaws of the recent x-men movies and traced my memory back to this shit. As for being mislead...not nearly as being mislead by a Fox movie called "CODENAME: WOLVERINE" lol....that's back when we could only daydream about the superhero movies we have now.
@Spideredge 2000- 2011 has tons of cheesy movies/shows etc. Cheesy does not mean old, cheesy means campy, silly, corny et.c no matter when it was made.
@KevsHardLemonade You misread. I'm referring to how much I prefer old cheesy movies as opposed to modern ones. I'm not....16. I really didn't need a definition of the term. On youtube.
@Spideredge Oh okay. I just figured you were another moronic kid under 20, who thinks anything before 2011 is cheesy and that its cheesy because its 'old' and that everything 'old' is cheesy because there were no Ipads back then or some shit like that.
@KevsHardLemonade nope, just trivial and nostalgic. I grew up on a lot of campy 80s and 90s stuff. Back when we could get away with Hulk Hogan and Chuck Norris being a 1-man army.
I remember i was 14 and expected too see the x men live, but i never noticed it said, by the producers, so... th movie was a disssapointment, but in retrospective i liked a lot at that time.
I liked this movie. I do however acknowledge the questionable acting, mediocre graphics, and strange character additions. Overall though I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, X Men Evolution actually sucks so bad. But actually the 90's series of X Men were the best.Gambit,Wolverine,Jean, and Jubilee were awesome back then.
I thought the movie was very corny but if you stop trying to take it so seriously, its really not so bad. Its just a fun super hero movie. I remember watching and recording it onto VHS. I wish I knew where it was. Id watch it again.
After this, I can fully understand why they were so reluctant in getting X-Men (2000) up and running. You can't blame FOX for being cautious back then.
Nowadays, maybe they're not being cautious enough!
I finally saw this movie on Veoh. I thought is was pretty good. The animated was kind of like Misfits of science. But either way, I think the show would have been a hit like, Dark Angel and Mutant X.
3 things. 1. I liked Save by the bell: the college years. I just wish I could find Save by the bell: the new class season 2 - the last season. Hard to find those. 2. X-men evolution was ok. I just thought making them teenages was abit farfetched. I wouldn't it was really Half-ass ideas. And 3. My point was That never saw this movie. And like I said before, until I see this movie, I have to say that I think they should have keep going with it.
well, me and my father sat down together after waiting forever for it to come on and it was the WORSE thing we had ever seen superhero wise. it was NOT acurate, AT ALL. they took out characters and added others. it was BAD. hell, the live action Ben 10 joint was better.
well i'd like to see if Hell really exists, but if 90% of people say its bad, then i think i'll pass on it and save my self some time and my soul......
What about X-men evolution? Let's be honest about that. Turning the members into teenages. That was completly confusing. As for this I never saw this movie. If I did I would agree with you. But until I see this movie. I have to say that I think they should have keep going with it.
My problem with X-men"evolution" was that they were mutants going to a private school but at the same time they were going to a public highschool with villain mutants. It was like the assholes that wrote "Save by the bell: the college years" wrote the fucking thing. Half-ass ideas, man. Half-ass ideas.
Hey this movie is better than any of the budget-hyped hollywood x-men series of films. It has a certain cult feel that is more aprreciated than boxoffice mainstream fillers do.
I know what you mean. I can't believe that i still have this movie recorded on VHS. I'm 26 and i still have my VCR. And my sega genesis too. My girlfriend unhooked the VCR. She said, "Honey, it just looks weird next to the Wii"-lol
hahaha i have a copy of this that's the unrated version and some of the dialogue is so much funnier when they're cussing and saying things that would've never made it onto network t.v.
the townie jock doesn't call mondo "butt-breath" right before he punches him, he calls him "pube head."
even tho this movie was awful it still holds a place in my gen x loving heart.
I loveed it lol! Even though the comics are a million times better, I still found it fun to watch! I do kinda wish they stayed faithful to the comics, but hey atleast it as an essence of generation x in the movie! I wish they made a new generation x movie, but I doubt it :(
This movie was beyond CRAP. I was so disappointed because I was a HUGE fan of the comic at the time. No Chamber or Husk, Jubliee was WHITE, & the entire look of the movie was super cheesy low-budget. I mean, it made the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers look like the Godfather. They NEVER should've attempted this if they knew they couldn't do it the RIGHT WAY. Leave it up to egotistical, network executive jerks (while riding high on the success of X-MEN: TAS) to think that fans wouldn't care.
