They do a good job. That says a lot. It's a tough cover to add some invention without disgracing the original. Def Leppard, as they themselves are fans of the Kinks, were well aware of that I'm sure.

I'm 58 years old and a Kink Kultist from way back. This is a great song.. Who cares which version is better than the other?? It's just an opinion and everyone has one. Everyone is free to like one version or the other, or neither. It doesn't really matter. Personally, I think it's an awesome cover.
