  • I am considering getting one and I keep reading reviews that the peep (smells like skunk) and poop everywhere...is this true with your experience?

  • @sinagog truth: yes they poop and pee a lot. But the pros (if you can call it that): the poop is normally the size of a few raisins, if not smaller sometimes... and the pee doesn't smell like skunks... it just smells like pee... not very potent, but not unnoticeable either

  • hahaha took the Leap of faith quite a few times there. He is so cute

  • Does he ever slow down?

  • You need carpet.

  • How much of the Diazepam did you take, Sniper Wolf?

  • i'd be fun to have one of those in the house

  • Adorable!

  • Bahahaha Super Cairo Away 1:05

  • Looks like rabies dude

  • do you own A FOX??!! i'm so jealous!

  • This reminds me of hammy from ice age.....

  • @supehaysain23 Mine does too XD

  • So cute ^^

But its freaking out like that because you need to take it on walks every single day for a long period of time. They are HIGHLY energetic animals ^^ But you look like you take very good care of him. Also Kyro is the cutest name EVER for a fox :D love it!

  • When he did the little jump of the sofa I just lost it LOL

  • my dogs do the SAME EXACT THING! but when i get the video camera they stop running

  • It's not the quadruped who is crazy.

  • And this is why fennecs are not allowed to have coffee anymore. XD

  • lmao my dog always does that xD I want a fennec now... :3 It's sooooooo cute!

  • You probaly need a new couch now lol

  • i couldnt stop laughing at 1:07

  • you have mice in the house.

  • What on Earth has got him so excited?

  • the jump at 1:05 was epic. it reminded me of a dirt bike doing a whip

  • @lovethe1wolves

Women belong in the kitchen, but all of us occasionally branch out of our comfort range.

  • You have a wonderful home, lots of space. Looks like hes happy :)

  • Dude that's badass

  • Version 2 of The Road Runner

  • @ 1:07 she like flew off of the couch. She so kawaii (cute)

  • I think he had too much mountain dew!

  • @227kittys cairo is a dr. pepper fox ;)

  • @thedizzyedge how old is Cairo? she or he is very pretty!

  • looks and sounds like pokemon. ITS A POKEMON.

  • absolutly cute x3 just on his acting you can see that hes totaly healty and happy ..i mean otherwise he woudnt run in fullspeed and squeek excited... realy cute the little guy x3people that hold animals like " a puppy" as christmas present ..this is a crime ...but not people that give a animal a home that woud have probably died in the nature... i bet hes pretty wild anyhow *grins* (even with a "indoor home"

  • was worth it to watch again!

  • OH MY GOSH THAT IS FREAKING CRAZY AND FUNNY!!!!!!!

  • this isn't a fence. i am disappointed.

  • maybe its his first time experiencing fleas?

  • i told my mom that a fennec fox would be the best little friend for our cat who is also hyper as hell. i even have everything down and ready to take care of a fennec fox. but my mom said no. ;w;"

  • To me, when they scream like that, I initially think they're in pain or are scared or something, but nope, just happy. Domesticating wild animals is interesting :D So many things to learn about them..

Also just wanna throw this out there: Dogs and cats were once wild animals. As were birds and fish and snakes and everything. So, gotta start somewhere to make domestic animals, right? x3

  • That fox has WAAAAAAY too much energy.

  • My Fennec Fox keeps eating my internet cable #LOL

  • Are they cuddley at all? I want one but I've never been around a fennec fox, so these vids are invaluable

  • being a pet is a sign of evolution for animals...

at least that's what I believe...

  • So adorable. So many people seem to be complaining about how you own a Fennec. I believe as long as it is in a good home (which he seems to be) he is well off. I can understand not wanting all Fennecs to be owned, but we own horses don't we. Were they once not wild? Is it right for us to own horses if we cannot own a Fennec? Another point, I'd rather see someone with a fennec in a good home versus a dog in a home where he is beaten. I'd rather fight animal cruelty than a good person with a fox.

  • wut is this? :P SO CUTE! :)

  • there goes the leather sofa. . . .

  • @thedizzyedge where do you live that its legal to have a fennec fox

  • ok. js. but LMFAO

  • This is just my two cents. I am sure the fox is much better off in the safety of this house than in the desert where people would probably do all sorts of cruel things to him for his fur. If I was the fox I would take a house over a desert any day. The fox is safe, happy, and healthy and that is all that matters. Therefore it is not cruel of her to keep this fox as a pet.

  • How do i obtain this pet?!

  • Ok, seriously, ur gonna make fun of someone because they have an animal that most people dont have? i think you all are jellous. i mean this is pretty freakin cool i would do anything to have a pet like that. and @thedizzyedge , I think that is pretty beast and even IMM jellous.

  • his fucking voice is awesome! ugh!!!! he sounds sooo cute & excited.

  • Comment removed

  • I have also heard they respond incredibly well to training of all kinds if u use one of those dog clicker things. They are very smart.

  • I think they are absolutely adorable. I can't see myself ever owning one but I would like to have a friend who had one that I could play with from time to time. They seem like a LOT of work and I hear you basically have to baby proof your house cuz they get into everything.

  • Zoomies!...lol

  • @suicideking0316 Though I do question my sanity at times, I assure you that I am not mentally disturbed.

  • @thedizzyedge Because of Cairo?

  • @suicideking0316 many people actually happen to own them.. it's a fun pet to have

  • XD Such a crazy fox there :D

  • SQUIRREL CAT DOG! :D Cute as heck!

  • @lovethe1wolves Naturally he would have been a desert animal, but he was not born in the desert and physically does not rely on a desert landscape to live. If you have any indoor pets though, you should put them outside and keep them there because they "belong there"

  • @thedizzyedge

I Agree with you.there is some People that are claiming themselves to be animal protectors, sometimes becomes annoying, they cant even see a exoctic animal being as a companion, yep but more companion than being just a pet.In my own thoughts, i find fennec fox as one of the best animals to be kept, at least that i what i think, better than keeping a venemous or dangerous animal. includying better than dog or cat. Im working in learning more before adopting one.

  • and this is my reply to people who says that theses type of animals needs to be on the wild: my response is, theses animals has better chance of surving while in the wilds has big chances to be hunted by people or animals, BEING OVERPROTECTIVE can be very annoying, give it a rest having a fennec wont hurt anybody, who knows if fennecs population will increase dramactically, because of people having one, isnt this a epic come back?

  • @lovethe1wolves Stupid people belong in schools.

  • @lovethe1wolves Cats are native to deserts. Do you oppose people keeping cats as pets as well? As long as the animal is happy and healthy, it doesn't matter. If he was raised in captivity, it'd be cruel to return him to that environment.

  • @lovethe1wolves how bout you keep ur hippy lovey dovey stuff to yourself these animals are perfectly fine in a domesticated area, my friend has one of these and she is just fine she does not need to be in the desert to survive or live they are perfectly fine in homes.

  • CUTE

  • Mute this video and play this /watch?v=Gpc5_3B5xdk

  • My neighbor's dog does the exact same thing when excited, doesn't stop till he's tired! Afterwards he cuddles :3

  • Мy cat does exactly the same after he has been fed, or went pee pee, or had water, or I made a sudden move....my cat is crazy

  • omg Cairo is adorable i cant even stand it haha. i been researching on them because they seem to be a very fun animal, and id love to train on and bring it to agility with my other dogs. I have had exotic animals before but not as exotic (: hope to see more cute videos of Cairo!

  • Woah, is the couch ruined?

    Cairo is cute!

  • @xLexC7x Not from running, but from digging it has some bare spots. A leather couch with bare spots is way better than a fabric couch with pee smell.

  • @xLexC7x Not from running, but from digging it has some bare spots. A leather couch with bare spots is way better than a fabric couch with pee smell.

  • @thedizzyedge were do you buys these i have been looking for one forever and cant find them

  • I can't believe some of these comments lol. My dog does this! When I let him inside after going out he runs all over the house and on the furniture. He's just having fun! This is a beautiful animal and if he felt threatened or wasn't well he would be hiding not running around playing.

  • omgosh do want ;A; too cute you are so lucky <3

  • You are a saint for not getting mad about the way he jumped on your leather sofa. Your fox is adorable though, I'm sure it would be hard to get mad at him. :P

  • Cairo is so cute!!

  • r.i.p. furniture.

  • As a fake professional vetanarian I say Cairo is suffering from...

    Culture Shock

Being trapped in a small house compared to the great wild outdoors is new to him and now he has developed a shock from such events.

  • @Tyrant9

Except it's not because it was a captive born, hand reared fox. If anything, it would be more shocked if we were to dump it back in the dessert.

  • @EternaFYI Ah well careful he doesn't claw or bite you to death if you go trying to kiss it and it goes insane like this o_o.

  • How scratched up is your furniture??? Lololol. Cute fox. =P

  • S-S-S-SOOOOO CUUUUTE! ME WANTS ONE NOW PLES! >:D

  • Also I hope your couch survives this :(

  • Sooo cool. Me and my fiance are thinking of getting one. It's too bad about all the people who can't seem to understand that a fennec can be a wonderful pet. I think they're all the people who can't understand a dog wants to play half the time it barks, or when it runs around the home. All animals have a wild streak, just like humans, and it just takes knowledge and responsibility to handle one. So I'm sorry you have to put up with this crap, and enjoy raising your beautiful fox :)

  • He's havin' WAAAAY too much fun, LOL

  • my dog does this alllll the time! :D hehe I just LOVE fennecs! Though, I was unaware you could keep them as pets. I would really appreciate if you let me in on where they were legal. (I understand if you completely ignore this comment though haha) doesnt his/her nails hurt your lovely leather couch?! lol. another thing I love & respect the way you responded to those comments up there. Also I cant believe you listen to Fleet Foxes they are amazing x)

  • This is so CUTE!!!

  • Omg that's so adorable! I really want one... I live in the UK is it leagle to have them here?

  • You guys are stupid. I suppose that old lady from the Fox and the Hound was a bitch for keeping Tod in her house, too...

  • lol Those things are energetic little buggers, aren't they? Has he caused any damage to your leather furniture yet? Or are his claws not that sharp?

  • That thing is so fast!

  • @Kalypso1323 I actually encourage people not to get them unless they can handle the full responsibility of taking care of one of these animals-- which is why I don't tell people where I got Cairo from. He was born in the US though and hand-reared--he specifically never would have ended up in the wild. People seek different animals for different reasons, and all animals will behave differently depending on their environment and the people they are around. Every situation is unique.

  • @thedizzyedge Good to hear, but you must understand my legitimate concern. Many people aren't going to be as responsible as you are, sadly. :/

  • @Kalypso1323 What makes you think every pet is captured and sold? They're bred for domestic living, you ignormaous. No one is taking the wild foxes out of their habitat.

  • @coughin05 And do you think this fox just appeared out of nowhere, semi-domesticated? And when demand for these creatures increases do you really think people won't pursue them for this purpose? Interestingly enough, the Fennec is quite difficult to train and solicit, yet I imagine there are plenty of cats and dogs being put down because people would rather purchase (and for quite an expense) a pet that can make people go 'omg wow so cute'. Also, it's ignoramus, try the spell-check.

  • @Kalypso1323 Well now, I never said that. Why would you assume I think something that you, as you pointed out in such an obvious way, consider an idiotic notion?

It's interesting that you should tell anyone to settle for a cat or a dog from the shelter--it's a nice idea, but honestly, if someone wants a fox, they should get a fox at no cost to the fox, not a cat they don't want.

Also, do you think animals are in some way hurt or hindered from 'captivity'? Because I really can't see that.

  • @coughin05 Oh no. Not all animals are hindered by captivity, dogs and cats do quite well. But they have been domesticated for thousands of years. Foxes are a rather new acquisition, and as I mentioned, only semi-domesticated. But why should we bother looking for new animals to keep when we have so many in need of homes. If you cut availability, then people won't have them. 'If they want a fox, they should get a fox'; how do you know they're as responsible as the owner in the video?

  • @Kalypso1323 bla bla bla.

  • @azi2g I'm sorry, who are you again? Please, if you find yourself unable to understand my commentary and instead try to denigrate my words to suit your own simpleton understanding, it becomes more embarrassing to you than myself. Or, as you would better comprehend: 'bitch, please.'

  • @Kalypso1323

Most wild animals are taken in to be cared for because their environment was destroyed or is dangerous for them, not because people only feel like catching them out of the wild. It's not only cat's and dogs that end up in shelters. Both wild and domestic animals are sheltered. It's just that some don't develop the ability to fend for themselves because they were too young when they got separated. So people continue to care for it as best they can.

  • 1:05 and 1:14 epic leaps XD

  • "CAIRO GIVES NOT A FUCK ABOUT YOUR QUERY. CAIRO IS PLAYING MARIO KART."

  • This fox seems like it has a comfortable life with a caring owner, which is good to see. I still think that a wild animal like this one is to remain in its natural habitat from birth to death. I have read that you adopted this animal from a very early age and I can easily understand how this fox would definitely not make it in the wild were it to be released into it. My only sadness from this is the thought of the original fennec fox that was taken from the wild which was the ancestor of this.

  • @ChelseyKnowsNoBounds you never know if it was really taken from the wild or not. There is always a chance that one ended up in human care because of an injury and wasnt able to go back into the wild. There are many animals that get hurt by human activities and can not go back into the wild, thats why they end up in cares or zoos. One of his ancestors might have just been that. You never know.

  • @kikowzz One: Keeping a fennec isn't illegal where I live. Two: Keeping a fennec doesn't make me a bitch. Three: I take him to the U of I for wild/exotic vet care-- if there were a problem I'm sure they'd prevent me from taking him back home every time I go for checkups. Four: You lack sufficient information to even have an argument over this with me... So do us all a favor and never do jury duty or go into some law bullshit... You're clearly an irrational individual with a shitty temper.

  • @thedizzyedge Well said.

  • @thedizzyedge Where did you get your Cairo and how much did he cost? He's adorable btw :)

  • @thedizzyedge Bravo! :applauds:

  • @thedizzyedge hi i think its really cool you have a fox, im only 16 but i plan on getting a fox when im older......i live in Indiana and i want to know if i needed a permit or not......and where do i get one. Im a huge animal lover and i respect all of them so im sure i whould take great care of a fennec fox....but i need to know if or if not i can buy one

  • @kikowzz I agree with everything thedizzyedge said. Plus, all fennec foxes that are now sold as pets have been raised and bred for over 50 years for that purpose and would die if put into their natural habitat, even if they aren't a domesticated creature.

  • @kikowzz Ya thedizzyedge is doing everything right with her fennec and you obviously aren't from this country to know anything about how these animals were bred. I would just keep your comments to yourself because your making yourself look stupid!

  • @kikowzz Keep your ignorance to yourself. Look up what a fennec is is before you make yourself look more like an idiot.

They are legal in many places as pets. Moreover, you have NO idea whether the person in a video is licensed to have an animal even if it was illegal as a pet! That would still make it OK.

    Fool.

  • @kikowzz lol u for peta or summin

  • what if its running of spirits

  • 1:04 what a jump! ;D

  • Fleet Foxes.

  • @csscszcsgv cairo gets to listen to them on vinyl :D

  • Finally! Something cuter than Maru... :)

  • OMG epic jump at 1:06!! To cute

  • this is fantastic.

  • Were you able to litter box train him? Also, how is his temperament being that he is male? Would you recommend male - female or fixing them? Did you have a biting problem ( I mean did he ever purposely bite you to inflict harm)? These are the question that I am trying to get info about so if you could tell me what you think from your experience I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your patience.

  • @wildfiresspindal2190 he uses training pads... i gave up on box training because he'd end up thinking the box was a good place to curl up and nap in and that was pretty gross... all male foxes kept as indoor pets should be neutered or they will spray. Cairo's been neutered and he still tries to hump my cat, so I'm not sure if it really affected his behavior much-- but I'm no expert on that sort of thing. Cairo can draw blood, but usually growls and gently nips before he'll ever actually bites.

  • @wildfiresspindal2190 You have to have them when they're recently born, you got to take them from their mothers.

That's the only way you can domesticate a fennec (and even like this, fennecs keeps their pride)

And the only way to get them like this is going to the sahara desert and buy it from a hunter or at the market.

    Otherwise yes, he may bite.

  • @wildfiresspindal2190 ah sorry I didn't made my point btw.

You can't fully domesticate a fennec, even when you get him as a newly born.

he may bite like I said, but if you realy like this animal then it's nothing, just don't be naive, fennec's tends to run when you let them go outside.

  • Found your channel via a video posted on dogwork dot com. I think your pet is adorable and has one of the nicest "captive" living environments it could possibly have. I'm assuming the trolls have cause you to remove some videos since there were more here last night than there are this morning. I personally apologize for the internet trolls and congratulate you on having a good attitude towards the criticism. Hope you and Cairo have many happy days together.

  • @jaeklund Thank ya :) and I did actually have more videos, but I just started cleaning out my youtube of all the videos that don't get watched as much since I'll probably start uploading some more things soon

  • Wow. I just read all the comments, and what the hell, really people are giving you shit for owning a fox that was from a breeder. My god its not like you keep him in a tiny enclosure, Though I do think we should get him a sand box. Anyway I did enjoy that all the fennec fox experts came out to give their professional opinions. Either that or all these people are suffering from small penises, that's the only other explanation for a bunch of pissed off people.

  • @klayevan welp i'm glad you don't have a small penis and you're not a pissy, animal welfare "expert" ;) ... but you're right, cairo needs a sandbox... a sandbox with really high walls.

  • My roommates dog use to do that. The problem was that it was a weimaraner so it wasn't so cute when it did it. he would slam the furniture into the wall.

  • why's he so exighted? (sorry about the bad spelling)

  • Lol very hyper must be a handful

  • I swear to you people that keep things trapped like this are sickos. You are on a dizzy edge too.

  • he sounds like a video game!

  • omg he is so cuuuute! <<<33

  • bitch, buy a fuking domestical pet, he need freedom

  • @1carlitoz1 stop fucking trolling,

  • @1carlitoz1 how the fuck do you get internet in mexican jail ??

  • @1carlitoz1 And why in the hell would I take advice from someone that can't even put together a proper english sentence?

  • Looks like you have a healthy and excited companion, and I am happy Cairo gets along with the cat. I hope you all have a happy life together. To Hell with all the haters leaving comments. As long as you and yours are happy together, the rest can go hang themselves. Sure you have an exotic pet, but so do millions of others, that have lizards, big cats, rare birds and Parrots etc... As long as you are caring for your pet, and it is stimulated and Happy, and Healthy, that is all that matters.Enjoy!

  • I didn't find this funny at all! I bet the poor thing felt trapped.

  • @luciferosirisarnold Poor thing? Really? You are absolutely ignorant.

  • Fennecs have worms

  • @mamarados Cairo doesn't.

  • This is my spirit animal.

  • Cairo is a wild animal. I am not going to judge you for having a wild animal "caged" in an urban apartment, as I di not know what were the conditionants to this situation. Anyway, she obviously needs more room to exercise her musculature, reflexes and instincts, thats the real reason for all the running, digging, etc. She is clearly overweight by now, probably ready for reproduction, and all the comportamental implications that it has on a wild animal are becoming obvious

  • @alvarolem All animals need exercise and I recognize that. Cairo is a neutered male living in a 1700 sq ft. house with a backyard and full unfinished basement, both of which he gets to enjoy with supervision.

  • Its illegal in Norway. Just like having a tiger or a lion. Not domesticated and not good as pets. Get a dog / cat for gods sake.. Or a ferret.

  • Enjoyed the video. Cheer up my day. Feel no need to make asinine, judging comment.

  • ¡Naruto! LOL

  • "What the hell"
