i think women, generally have lower quads muscle strength and rely more on ligament strength than muscles, than men, also women will have smaller and thinner ACLs compared to men, but the force generated in the sport remains the same for both, that explains the frequent injuries. Also women dont achieve as good muscle generation and controlled power as men on the same levels of sport.
