  • The thing that's really exciting about this phone is that they have taken their silverlight model and added it to the phone. Applications are developed in Silverlight. (there have been 4 updates in 3 years. Silverlight (much like the iphone) gets frequent updates. Applications automatically get updated on PCs and Mac and most of the time happen in the background and you don't know it's happening. So will Microsoft update like iOS ?? Most definitely..

  • Just wait and see amigo...

  • the xbox tile for now mosot prob works same way as the windows desktop live does when u can see whos online on the live services and targets etc , perhaps some new xbox games will have mini games that uses the mobile in the same way the n64 connected with the gameboy , who knows , but the xbox tile has to be added as standard or itll be kinda silly

  • 27+ million xbox users can play on live, save and continue on phone.

Facebook users, looks like best facebook intergration on any device

Business users, Multiple Active Sync, sharepoint, one note, real office apps ect.

They've stated no upgrades to old devices as they don't meet specs, keeping a tight rain. Stated they will release regular updates to OS directly.

Apps will go through approval and willing to bet you won't see Gay Pict apps in their Utility section like you know who!

  • shoey5 what games are you referring to being able to do this feature? chess,checkers..uno? all great games but really?!?!

i think the xbox live integration will be nothing more than seeing who is online, checking stats, possibly downloading remotely to your home console. Not trying to down play it but i think thats what it will be if you guys have any links or anything. Twitter me!

    Peace

  • what about the quality insurance peace, do you think buyer's should believe M$. And not expect to see a media market place loaded with crap? I do think that on the hardware side there will be a tighter requirement. But trust me there will be some crappy phones loaded with this OS.

  • if you listened their going to have a business version and a mainstream version

  • I gave this video a rating of 1 star. It wasnt because I simply dissagreed with your opinion, but that your opinion lack substance. Some more research on your part could have been done before doing this vid to determine the demodraphic MS is targeting... if you watched the MWC unvieling, it would (or at least should) have been pretty obivious. Also, your Vista and Xbox jabs hold very little weight considering how loved Windows 7 and Xbox Live is by people who use the software/devices

  • It's actually Windows Live & XBox live so you weren't completely wrong :-)

They are going after everyone. What's happening is that slowly some business users are turning to an iPhone for fun dispite the fact that it's not as good as a Blackberry.

MS realizes that the future is really combining business and pleasure in a fun convenient interface and give users the *choice* between business, music, movies, games, FaceBook, etc.

Making a phone customized and "personal" is the key.

  • Microsoft is going after everyone, The GUI of the Iphone, the usably of the Blackberry, and the geeky side of the android. With Xbox, ZUNE, and Live all one the same device, with having office and then having apps. hey, why not, from my point of view it is the big 3 killer, It can't make every one from not buying the other 3 phones, but it will make there sales drop.

  • well said never looked at it from that view... So what percent of windows phone users to you think will also own a xbox? also there are rumors floating around about a xbox live app coming to the iphone..

  • @iTriggerTv u said it, rumors. i dont microsoft will release an xbox live app for iphone. also theres the demografic for people looking for a smartphone, i dont have one and if i want a new one, i will go for windows phone 7. also the first phone will be released on at&t, and when the iphone 3g contracts end, they will look for another smaprtphone and right there on at&t windows phone 7 series. instead of iphone4g with a 4 year old os.

theres a lot of opportunity, and microsoft has can succeed.

  • i am willing to bet that a lot of those "people" will be waiting and buying the next iphone. The itunes library has alot of pull on these "people". only way to see is to well "wait and see". The chips are stacked in apple's favor in the smart phone category...

  • @iTriggerTv i dont think so, because apple's share in the smartphone world isnt the biggest. all the other people from nokia, palm, blackberry, etc.. will look for something else. and believe me they arent attached to anything, so they will go for the newwest thing, just as iphone users did back in the day. i think you live in a world where everybody has or want an iphone, and im sorry to tell you but not all of us want an iphone.

  • So your issue with Windows Phone 7 is that you don't know what demographic the phones are aimed at? Perhaps Microsoft is targeting the 25+million xbox users with the xbox live integration. Have you seen the latest video of them playing the same game on Windows, xBox and Windows Phone 7? Since Windows Mobile has about 18% world market share, I would think they would also be targeting those users. And oh, don't forget the Apple users who want something fresh and new. Seems pretty obvious to me.
