Living in this area I can tell you - there wasn't anyone that didn't believe the killed was/is in some type of civic service. A cop, EMT, firefighter... Someone in the 'know'...
it is good that now you dont have to stop to use a pay phone anymore, mostly 99% of the people in the world have cell phones to call who ever you have to call. i would have never just stopped at a deserted place to use the phone especially at night where someone could just be hiding near by to kidnap someone. it is scary there are so many maniac's out there.
@DCfreak87 There seems to be a tendency for people to cite 20-30 yrs in the past as being more innocent than the present, no matter what the current year. Perhaps this is because they themselves were more innocent in decades past. I lived thru the 80s, and they were no more innocent than the 2000s. Hitchhiking, for example, was widely recognized as dangerous, just as it is today. And violent crime today is down from the early 90s, despite the impression the mass media gives the public.
the serial killer and mysterious disappearances were always the scariest ones for me watching this as a kid, the aliens and ghosts ones never scared me much lol
@sportstalk23 ya ! the aliens was all bs it was like oh wow i saw a light wow but these were scary and that robert stack guy still freaks me out 2 this day im 17 :P
@cookie123d1 if it wasnt the aliens it was the lochness monster or big foot lol but yeah when Robert Stack did it he was awesome like he was narrating a scary movie or something, but I do watch the ones with Dennis Farrina because some of these cases have been solved so I like to see who got caught or reunited
@sportstalk23 They still scare the crap out of me. I watch them while I am at work mostly the murder and unexplained death ones and I am afraid to like leave thinking its gonna happen to me.
Dr Phil just had the woman that was pregnant in this story...plus the suspected serial killers son on. The killings are called the Conneticut river killings. The daughter she was pregnant for was also on the show.
The scariest one by far, for me at least, is one that I think took place in Texas. These 2 hitchhikers were cousins and they stopped at a conveniece store and were terrified of the guy giving them a ride. They tried to get the clerk to call the police because they were sure he was a killer. He killed an old man in an isolated country home while his family were on vacation. The guy was scary as hell looking, his hair was in about a dozen pony tails and was VERY SCARY looking!!

@sportstalk23 I agree because the chances of being killed by a ghost or a alien are kinda low. a serial killer is much more likely to kill you.
