The orcas in this were Katina and most likely Nalani but you can tell this is video because Nalani is 4 months old still young but they will not make a perform she will hang with her mom. When Katina jumps the baby can jump if it wants to.

marine biologists and animal behaviour experts reckon dolphins are better off in the wild,hunting for food and enjoying the vast expanse of the ocean where they swim up to 50 miles a day and dive hundreds of feet. But by keeping them in captivity aquariums can make lots & lots of money and entertain people.see the wspa website regarding the facts surrounding captive dolphins.You will not find any marine biologist suggesting that keeping dolphins in captivity is beneficial to their wellbeing!

I've just been finding it a little frustrating, It's been happening alot , either I get blocked deleted or they pull the video , or disable all comments. I have only known Orcas in the wild and it really upsets me seeing them like this, I believe that mature tamed and trained orcas cannot successfully be released, and understand that for the existing performing Orcas the show probably must go on, I would like pro captivity people to consider alternatives ways out of this inherited mistake.

Two weeks ago we had Orcas here in our waters of Madeira. That's rar but it happens and when it happens it is wonderfull.
Only in the oceans you should see this animals, they belong to the wild and it's much more interesting to see them in their natural behaviour then in this aqua parks, where they have to funktion and make themselves like clowns. Poor animals! What the hell are we humans thinking we are?

If you punish a dolphin, then the fun atmosphere of the session is ruined and you get nowhere. If a dolphin is not given its daily amount of nutrition, their health deteriorates, and they are more prone to illness and death.
These animals are trained using a system of positive reinforcement. People twist this and make it seem like they're punished if they don't behave.

I saw this show last week in orlando and its too egotistic and what a load of rubbish with that wavy hand chant 'shamu shamu' and that stupid boy thing as if hes ment to be grown up from seeing a whale when he was little then running on with a paddle and the trainers talking to the audience we came to see a killer whale show not a bunch of big headed trainers who blow dog whistles its pathetic to make the whales act. Then they try and make you buy a wodden whale tale for like £3 its all a con.

I would appreciate to see this "working together" if the biggest Dolphin on Earth would have the possibillity to do that by his/her own free will. Unfortunatelly I haven't seen jet an free living Orca doing these things. Its an abuse not more and not less.

Encourage aquariums that provide ocean science and teach you ways how to save the ocean. You should make the best from the animals' presence in an aquarium, and that is learning how to save their habitats, the ocean and the earth.

I agree. Iam lucky to have somewhere like that in England called 'Living Coasts' It is a coastal zoo and conservation charity run in conjunction with Paignton Zoo. It protects and breeds endangered sea life, returning some to the wild when numbers permit. It is non profit making,and has educational projects for local school children to learn and understand about the animals habitats/problems being faced. I can provide a link if people PM me.

Hmm.. Marine Biology isn't the best field for marine mammal trainers.
Any of the SeaWorld trainers will tell you that they have degrees in Psychology, not Marine Biology.

when you go to sea world you see that it really isn't like that there, the trainers and whales have such a strong bond with each other, these whales are healthy and fit. Iv been to sea world a few times and if the whales or dolphins don't want to do a show they wont...

Do go its the best holiday ive ever been on coz there's so many theme parks and my fav's were sea world, universal and aquatica and in the night time we went down to old time kissmee, downtown disney for shopping and the magic kingdom for the fireworks it was all so magical... i know the fireworks sound pathetic but i nearly cried lol

notice the bend in her dorsal finn, she obiously been in captivity for a long time. I have a great respect for orcas and i think they should all be in the wild and not forced to live in containment

They feed them if they Don't Preform,Because if they don't preform they will find an orca that will.And this isn't JUST for entertainment,Orcas in the Wild are In Danger,And if we put them in Captivity they have a better chance,And if we put them back in the wild after we help them,They could may as well risk dying..So we need to help them..

Two weeks ago we had Orcas here in our waters of Madeira. That's rar but it happens and when it happens it is wonderfull.
Only in the oceans you should see this animals, they belong to the wild and it's much more interesting to see them in their natural behaviour then in this aqua parks, where they have to funktion and make themselves like clowns. Poor animals! What the hell are we humans thinking we are?

This is abuse, no question about it. Dolphins/Orcas either perform or they're not fed. How about we do that to children? Good grades, unconditional obedience to get food! No wonder these intelligent animals commit suicide. They belong in the wild and if we're lucky enough to see them in the wild then we have been blessed by God!

Dolphins and whales can not be trained by force. If you push a dolphin, it pushes back. If you starve a dolphin, it dies. If you punish a dolphin, then the fun atmosphere of the session is ruined and you get nowhere. If a dolphin is not given its daily amount of nutrition, their health deteriorates, and they are more prone to illness and death.
These animals are trained using a system of positive reinforcement. People twist this and make it seem like they're punished if they don't behave.

Ok,For all of yall that think it is Abuse,I think they Don't use the Ones they Catch in the Wild for shows.They use those whales to breed,And they use the ones Bred In Captivity for the Shows.They do this for not just the Saftey of the staff,but for the safety of the Whale.Training a Whale that spent most of it's life in the wild is dangerous for Them.They could get hurt badly,Not just the staff.

"BELIEVE" the best show I have every seen. I saw it twice this year in April 2008 and can't wait to see it again. I so wish I was 20 years younger and would do all that I could to become a trainer at Sea World or Discovery Cove!

I saw this show last week in orlando and its too egotistic and what a load of rubbish with that wavy hand chant 'shamu shamu' and that stupid boy thing as if hes ment to be grown up from seeing a whale when he was little then running on with a paddle and the trainers talking to the audience we came to see a killer whale show not a bunch of big headed trainers who blow dog whistles its pathetic to make the whales act. Then they try and make you buy a wodden whale tale for like £3 its all a con.

I would appreciate to see this "working together" if the biggest Dolphin on Earth would have the possibillity to do that by his/her own free will. Unfortunatelly I haven't seen jet an free living Orca doing these things. Its an abuse not more and not less.

Please don't encourage these kinds of shows, these animals are trained so their owners could make millions out of them. Encourage aquariums that provide ocean science and teach you ways how to save the ocean. You should make the best from the animals' presence in an aquarium, and that is learning how to save their habitats, the ocean and the earth.

I agree. Iam lucky to have somewhere like that in England called 'Living Coasts' It is a coastal zoo and conservation charity run in conjunction with Paignton Zoo. It protects and breeds endangered sea life, returning some to the wild when numbers permit. It is non profit making,and has educational projects for local school children to learn and understand about the animals habitats/problems being faced. I can provide a link if people PM me.

Noone mentioned Corky2 lost all seven of her babies, most of these babies are cired by Tillikum who came from the wild, he is no longer allowed with people b/c he was involved in two human deaths. Now they jerk him off and take his sperm to make more slaves to entertainment. But its cute, right? how sad.
