They made this scene because the creators thought the show was gonna get cancelled for good and they wanted to give Futurama a proper ending. But lucky for the fans, they signed for 2 more seasons!

one thing about Futurama, the use of music helps make those most poignant scenes more memorable. Sure, the Simpsons does this too, but like with this scene, very moving, and completely unique.

@Punisher7654 Makes sense. This was a fantastic episode. I guess they wanted to end off on a funnier note with Reincarnation this season, but even though I loved that one, too, I think this episode would've made a spectacular season finale. It definetly leaves me wanting more :)

@xXgAvInArNoLdXx Reincarnation was not one of the best episodes trough, I would like much more Overclockwise as the ending of season, because of this scene, well it was my favorite episode, but Reincarnation wasn't that bad, there is no bad episode in Futurama, it was just a bit weird and I was missing some of the funny scenes/quotes, but they made some kind of experiment or ran out of ideas, well it had all the references to the animation styles and stuff. There were hilarious scenes trough.

@MSoljah I think it limits the whole concept to try and define it in specifics. Part of what makes this exchange so brilliant is the reflection it casts about the commonality of relationships. In watching their faces, I could see my own friendships, romances, partnerships played out - a reminder of our shared human experience.
