  • i had that chopper game on a gamboy! i have never understood how to play that fuckin game

  • does it work on ipod nano 2g?

  • ten ipod linux to kijowy jest.

  • can u do this for touch anyone?

  • what is the name of music

  • @XareSoft switch off adblock and you'll see

  • Hey can you tell me how you got thos icons for ipod linux cause its podzilla 2 right

  • Bahaha. I love Ace of Base.

  • those were the crapiest games avaiable for ipod linux

  • You're the crappiest game available for ipod linux.

  • Nicely done.

  • My Ipod>Yours Tomer. It has 2g, screw your... what.. 60?

  • I wish.

    It's only 30GB.

  • is it now possible to install linux on an ipod video?

  • what is the point ipod video already has video capiblitites

  • when i try to download the installer says it cannot find my ipod. I have a 5.5g 30gig. Vid. what could be wrong

  • Make sure your iPod is enables for disk use (there is a setting in iTunes that lets you do this) and well, just make sure your iPod is connected and that you're using the right installer.

  • takes quite a long time to boot...

also this binary clock is scaring me... O.O

  • Yeah, the problem with it is, is that it loads all the modules on startup. It would be much faster and would run better if it loaded the modules when you choose to run them. And yeah, the binary clock is pretty spiffy :P

  • I love Linux. I love Macs. I love my iPod. But I really cannot see a valid reason for putting Linux on an iPod. The idea of controlling anything with that touch wheel and a few buttons seems like a lot of hard work for little reward.

  • Well y'know, it's just for the heck of it :P And plus you can a lot of extra functionality out of your iPod.

  • So...does it play music?

  • Funnily enough, at the time of that recording, mp3 playback capabilities were not supported by the 5.5G iPodLinux kernel. But Rockbox plays music like there's no tommorow.

  • i wonder how you could reduce the time of booting ... i guess you have already tried, but just in case, you could also remove some unneeded modules and have a shorter rc? ...

  • Yeah, it's pretty annoying how long it takes. But most of the modules are needed for the system and a lot are also dependencies. I think the iPod Linux team should work on making the modules load when you actually execute them. Starting up all the modules at booting is just inefficient and it really slows down the system. But it's cool anyway.

  • And with all that running, is the battery life affected at all? I'd imagine that it would be.

  • Actually, it is. iPodLinux really rapes the iPod's resources.

  • wat the hell why would any1 use linux

    get a mac!

  • I think the reason has something to do with the iPod being incapable of running the full Macintosh operating system.

I think you're a little bit confused. See, this is Linux on an iPod. "Getting a mac" really wouldn't be much of a substitute.

It's okay though, you tried to make a coherent argument, and that's what counts ;)

  • i no its an ipod but instead of having a liniux computer have a mac computer i dont get linixus with all the letters and numbers

  • the letters and numbers is just the boot up. WinXP and MacOS have graphical pictures displayed to u instead of the letters and numbers but in the back ground its still going on. linux is open source so it takes longer to get improved. theres nothing wrong with linux

  • In fact you can have a graphical boot of the Linux kernel, search the web for "bootsplash" or "splashy", it can be personalized as much as you want/can, to have a very cool and unique graphical boot. But as long as for me, I prefer the fb text boot, is cooler for me, with all the "letters and numbers".

  • Just so you know, Linux is pretty the same as MacOs, they are both build on UNIX. Linux is MacOS, under the hood...

  • Ouch. That's harsh and WRONG. OSX is built on BSD UNIX true (with some higher level proprietary APIs). Linux is a Unix-like operating system. They are very similar but Linux is NOT MacOS under the hood.

  • Not true, in fact it would be more accurate to say that MacOS has (something like) Linux running under its hood.

They're more like cousins, one who has hippies for parents and preach freedom above all else. The other's parents wear turtle necks, and insist their kid look and be expensive :P

  • That would be the best youtube response as of yet, imo 5/5 for the response, nice vid as well :D

  • That would be the best youtube response as of yet, imo 5/5 for the response, nice vid as well :D (sorry for double post, silly youtube put it in the wrong spot) If this doesn't work, it is in regards to Yoooder

  • that question is easy to answer...cuz macs suck!

  • What a well thought-out and clever response :)

  • what is this music mate ?

  • It's "The Sign" by Ace Of Base.

Ace Of Base is pretty cool
