Jehovah's Witnesses: Refusal of Blood Transfusions

Even if I wasn't a JW, I'd still like the alternative methods. People act like taking in blood is the only way to live, why so closed minded?

Her is Leviticus . So, here it is. We do not give animal sacrifices to God in our worship.

(Leviticus 3:16, 17) And the priest must make them smoke upon the altar as food, an offering made by fire for a restful odor. All the fat belongs to Jehovah. 17 “‘It is a statute to time indefinite for YOUR generations, in all YOUR dwelling places: YOU must not eat any fat or any blood at all.’” Read Acts 15 I could not fit it all. I have had four surgeries. My father & grandfather had heart bypass surgery. My mom over ten. ALL without blood and With better recovery than blood patients. Acts 15:28, 29- For the holy spirit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to YOU, except these necessary things, 29 to keep abstaining from ..... blood... If YOU carefully keep yourselves from these things, YOU will prosper. Good health to YOU. . .(HOW TRUE THAT HAS PROVEN IN THREE GENERATIONS OF SERIOUS SURGERIES.)

JWs wont read you the full bible text, here is why. Leviticus 3:17. `It is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall not eat any fat or any blood.' " They don't want you to see dont eat ANY FAT because they love eating fatty food with their fatty steaks. Next time a JW tells you they wont accept blood transfusion, ask them to read the full text. :)

Think about this: For all we know and for all the science and "progress" - we still don't know how a single human thought is formed - and no closer and no sign of ever be discovered.

Just think, you expressing the thought there is no God, that thought alone is the very proof there is one. How ironic.

Thirty pills a day sure is a lot...Then again, it takes a strong person with a lot of love and faith in Jehovah to withstand all of that pressure. I commend him for being so wise and not accepting that blood transfusion. Yay for him! :)

Blood transfusions pass AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and also carry the DNA. Do you want someone else's DNA running and controlling your bodily functions? Male hormones and DNA into a female would really confuse that woman's body quite a bit. Acts 15:20,"...abstain from blood...The apostle Paul said. i remember the day my grandmother died, she went into hospital showing her blood card and preaching the bible truths to the end (an illness they cudnt help even with blood so she didnt die because of refusing a blood transfusion)

i know the doctors or scientists do check the blood but everybody makes mistakes

and whatif they missed somethin in the blood that can affect the person thats receivin it.TheyCan Die Because Of That

I'm no witness, but it's not right to drink blood. transfusions are totally fine if i needed one, but drinking it? even if i was 100% non-religious i wouldn't do it.

Yes we don't give blood because yes it is sacred to us Plus just think bout it blood can have all these diseases

@raunchbear i`m not an expert in medicine, but in my opinion, any organ once removed -should be empty- says my logic. if it holds any trace of blood it can`t be helped... or would you like to wash it with soap :)) (a joke)

@solomonred1 simply put the bible says nothing about organs. but about the blood the bible tells us that Jehovah holds blood as sacred from all verses relating blood principles. keep on studying and ask the ones you study with:)

This is beautiful, thank you so much for posting it.

I am not yet baptized as a JW, but am working towards it. I recently had major surgery and refused blood. The hospital gave me pressure to sign paperwork giving them permission to give me blood, but I told them no. Also told them I would get my surgery elsewhere, lol. I lost 3 units. I am feeling fine now and back to my normal activities. I am glad I got to make a stand for Jehovah. Seth, please update!

@bacamom i am so glad to hear you stood your ground. i know a sister who lost alot of blood in child birth. also pressured to get blood. she took alternative choices and is alive today.  may jehovah be with you always

@shihtzufizzers I'm not a jw but i respect jw's beliefs and i know why jw don't accept blood tranfusions but i just wanted to know(this may seem a bit of a stupid question) but what if your stung by a wasp or been bit by a snake and the venom gets in the body?

@laurfm93 the bible does not say abstain from fractions. but yet it is a conscience matter whether to receive treatment for this. example, if a dr. told an someone they need to stop or abstain from alcohol would it be ok to inject in their veins. they would still take it in. but alcohol can be used to cook with and not have its adverse effects. hope this helps.
