  • nah, 6505 aint the amp for me i think. they sound quite good mixed, but i dont really like the response of it.

  • I love Harley Benton cabinets. You get offered a lot for your money. Before I had my ENGL 4x12 Pro cabinet with V30S, I had a 4x12 Harley Benton cabinet for my 6505+. Sounds great. (:

  • Based on your videos, there are other high gain amps that sound better than the 6505. But for some reason in person the 6505 always gets me. I owned one at one point (first expensive amp I ever had), and I just can't find anything else that matches it anymore. I've gone several routes, but the 5150/6505 is still the king of brutality for me. I guess I just set the tone differently than you do.

  • Great fucking sound!!!!!

  • I am gonna try out those settings at rehearsal this week, thank you so much for listing them.

"Sorry for shitty playing" - you've got to be joking right?

  • Nice eq/speaker placement at the start

  • i see u really like country music :-)

  • shitty playing??? fucking A bro !

  • Hey man i have the same harley benton setup, i was wondering if the amp has been ok running into it? Since the 6505 is quite high wattage and the harley benton is on 120w, have you ever cranked the amp up to the maximum level?

  • @ChristianBurrell No. I would be deaf right now :)

  • What's funny is that the 6505 amp is actually the EVH head, renamed after Eddie Van Halen and Peavey parted ways - the amp is capable of extreme heavy metal distortion but Eddie never used it like that. I always wished he would have used more distortion on the later VH albums.....

  • @thestratdude1 the 6505 is actually a renamed 5150 after Eddie left Peavey. The EVH heads are made by Fender and came after the 6505's and 5150's if I remember correctly. Either way, they're incredible amps. I have a 5150 myself.

  • really nice song stay metal \m/

  • Is it a huge difference between this and a 6505+ combo amp?

Is the combo amp also a good amp? :)

  • @AnOldShooe the 6505+ has an equalizer per channel instead of one shared eq, so it's a little more versitile. the combo has 60 watts, instead of 100. but 60 watt tube is more than enough for most situations.

but probably the biggest difference between the 6505 head and the 6505+ combo is the price. dunno where you're from, but here in holland the head is almost twice the price of the combo.

tonewise they're pretty much the same, but they need a lot of volume for good, agressive, thick sound.

  • I'm missing the BALLS of your guitar, please let the mids, where they should be ;)

  • Great music and tone, but you're only demonstrating studio quality of the amplifier surely after mixing and editing.

  • @hanlyrivas just hp/lp on the guitars. I don't think there's a need to edit it more.

  • @MattismPL

What were the settings for the deviltoy bee? Thanks

  • @imnrax 6.6.6 :)

  • Do these amps have no "volume" knob at all? Is that what the resonance/presence knobs are for?

  • @INeedSizzors61 they have a master volume, and i think they also have a volume for each channel

  • @INeedSizzors61 'Post-gain' is the volume knob.

  • @INeedSizzors61 resonance is almost like another low as presence is like another high

  • @INeedSizzors61 post gain is volume, essentially.

  • AAAAAAAA!!! THIS IS FUCKING METAL!!! I LOVE THIS SONG! MAKE PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE A LONGER VERSION!!!

  • LOVE THIS MUSIC!!! \M/

  • amazing tone

  • did u use Lead Channel or Rhythm Channel?

  • @bokNpok lead I believe

  • so is this bone stock??? and what are your settings? thanks sounds awesome..

  • @tc8849 dude, check the description...

  • Good sound, but boring riff

  • U need more Mids... but nice tone, is really mnemic-ish

  • which imput are you using and are you in rythim or lead?

  • nice compression snare drum

  • nice tone and mix - what did you record with?

  • sounds alot like something id hear by fear factory

  • Man! Sound awesome! The effect at 0:20 how you do it?

  • @MusicPancho hp/lp

  • @MattismPL What is that :O? A vst?

  • @MusicPancho an overdrive pedal used as a boost. OverDrive = OD

  • BRUTAL TONE

  • fucking bouncy :D

  • the pre gain is on 4!!!! WHAT, my buddy's Dual Recto, pre gained up to 8 or 9 does not sound this thick. awesome amp.

  • @adampope64 I'm using a OD. Without OD I would have more pregain :P Btw. 5150 is a little bit more gainy than Mesa :)

  • @MattismPL what kind of od ?

  • @420aloha420 Bee Overdrive

  • @MattismPL \m/

  • @adampope64 check out my 6505 videos, i use pre gain on 4/5...no pedals

  • Nothing compares to this! nice vid man :)

  • @samxma thanks :)

  • @MattismPL Thanks you, ima have to save up for this one, im gonna get the vavle king with a cab and foot switch for £659 first but then i will save for the 6505

  • amazing tones what type of mic did you use?

  • @cbertram11 SM57

  • what drum program did you use?

  • @poisonedxtears1993 Superior

  • Wet low, tight, clear hi and big headroom... so PEAVEY \m/. Nice choice u got man.

  • Just to set things straight. To understand what the extra 12ax7 tube does in the amp you need to know what gain is. The 6505 and 6505+ have the same gain, but because it is spread over an extra tube in the 6505+, it will not break up as quickly when playing cleans.

  • @JustSomeRandomNewb yup the 6505 sux wen it comes to cleans.

  • a na zdjęciu mój 6505 :D Miło widzieć, że komuś się podoba to zdjęcie. Ładnie go wykręciłeś, mnie jednak brakuje jeszcze dwóch głośników do swojego (:

  • sounds like slipknot! HELL YEAH!

  • what did you use for drums?

  • O_o awesome

  • very well done!

  • Is it the 6505+ Version? Going to buy an 6505 next week if im lucky. I play Parkway Drive and things like that and is it really neccessary to get the 6505+ ?? Or is the "normal" 6505 heavy enough?

  • @BreeBree1731 6505+ just has separate eq for clean channel. overdrive channels are the same tho

  • @asashesrain

Thanks for the answer, but i heard that the 6505+ isnt as thick as the 6505. Its more...like, well digital you know?

  • @BreeBree1731 The 6505+ clean channel is actually the exact same as a normal 6505. This channel isn't really meant to be a clean channel, it is a very good crunch channel. It has more low end than the lead channel on a 6505+ but it is much more loose. Considering the small price difference, I would go with the 6505+ because you have all the good of a normal 6505 as well a separate higher gain channel.

  • @1Muzition1

You mean that the 6505+ has more gain? If that is true, i dont care. Because the 6505 is heavy enough for every genre i think ;) And who would buy a 6505 for the clean channel?

  • @BreeBree1731 Well yes the 6505+ does have more gain but what I really meant to say is that the 6505+ has more options in general. The extra channel can be quite useful. And yes both amps have more than enough gain for anything. ; )

  • @1Muzition1 Acually the 6505+ has an extra preamp tube for the clean channel to give it more clarity...

  • @robvk6 I don't know about that.... That extra 12ax7 is actually for more gain. I've owned a 5150II for about 3 years and I can tell you right now that it is not meant to have a clean channel, only 2 different overdrive channels. Using the clean option on a 6505+/5150II is absurd and I advise strongly against doing so. Anyone who has tried doing knows that the last this that shit needs is clarity. What it needs is bottom end.

  • @1Muzition1 Yea a little more bottom end would be nice thats why i use a sonic maximizer for that, helps out alot...

  • real drums or program? What prog? Amp sounds great

  • @LargKok program

  • hey man this is a great tone... Whats is your tuning here ?

  • @aris17561 B

  • Bardzo zacnie nagrane ! Ja mam 6505 i w nim lampy Ruby a Ty z jakich korzystasz?

  • @PrzemekPaloma tu byly seryjne

  • what audio interface you using man??

  • @specialbru profire 2626

  • insane amounts of gain

  • would you recommend getting this amp? or is there something better for the money?

  • @aldricsuan Hmm I think it's a great amp, just change tubes and you'll get a monster. Also I like Engl Fireball and PV XXX. These are different amps so pick the one you like :)

  • how many layers did you record of the rhythm part? it sounds huge

  • @johnnybyall 2, thanks :)

  • This is pretty good, how do you connect the SM57 to your computer?

  • Kick ass sound man! Could you upload another vid with some melodies/solos? I'm really interested in buying 6505, but I can't seem to find a reiview that suits my taste, this is the best one I've found so far, I would really appriciate it.

  • @SerenityInHatred IMHO I can give you one good review - Buy 5150/6505 replace tubes with JJ's and you've got a chainsaw gutsfuck armageddon machine! :)

  • @MattismPL Sounds nice, make a video if you got that equipment, I would really like to hear it first! :)

  • @SerenityInHatred I don't own it anymore :(

  • HOLY FUCK. Dude this rocks. I have the same amp and was just curious about what other people were playing with it. Can't say I'm at all disappointed! Do you do an magic with your sm 57 or are you just recording straight on the center of the cone? The clarity of the tone is pretty astounding.

  • man this is sick, what tubes are using? jj tubes or instock?

  • @deadxreaper666 stock ones. they sound like shit actually :)

  • @MattismPL Lol I refuse to believe the stock onse sound like shit xD cause this sounds wayyy too beast

  • AAaahh, why must you live so far away?.. would've loved to jam with you.

  • Isnt the 6505 sorta one trick poney? I cant honestly decide between a XXX, 6505, or maybe a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100, Im wanting to death metal but at the same Id like to have a useable clean tone, the brone crushing distortion is sorta is more of priority, what do you recommend MattismPL?

  • @Gravatrax101 I don't know anything about marshalls but XXX and 6505 are kind a tough choice. XXX is in my opinion most versatile metal amp with some cool distortion and beautiful clean. 6505 has awful clean but very aggressive and heavy distortion. In case 6505 check out tubes. Imho stock tubes makes this amp sounds like shit. But yeah, if you add a little chorus or delay 6505 clean is quite usable... :)

  • @MattismPL Hmm I was told doing the bias mod on the 6505 (or plus) helps improve the clean channel, I never would've thought about using a delay or chorus though. So would it be possible to use some sort of boost/od pedal to maybe bring the XXX to a more 6505 heavy (like a tube screamer or something of that nature). Thanks for the response btw!

  • @Gravatrax101 TS is a cool think for both of them. It gives a tight and crunchy sound. I don't think there's a possibility to make xxx sounds like 6505 but don't worry XXX it's a really good amp with awesome distortion.

  • @MattismPL Thankya! My main concern is if I still haz brutalz with the XXX.;D Just a different sounding brutal

  • @Gravatrax101 \m/

  • @Gravatrax101 you can't make 1 amp sound like another by adding a pedal because its the characters of the tubes, and the eqin in the amp i honestly recommend a 6505+ ive on so many amps that just left me feeling empty and thats after like 30mins of playing a lots of tweaking, i pluged into the 6505+ 112 combo gain 6 low 6 mid 3 high 6, res 6, presence 10, omfg it was bliss at least i thought it was until i plugged a ts9 behind the 6505+ THEN IT WAS KILLER

  • @alvarg I thought the 6505 112+ was just a low wattage version of the 6505+ but as it turns it out I was not very impressed

  • @Gravatrax101 not the 6505 is the same as the 6505+ only different is the 6505+ has 1 more preamp tube little more gain, thats all

  • @Gravatrax101

Don't even think about getting the XXX. If you want a tight distortion, the XXX sucks in every way possible. There is a reason they sell very poorly... The XXX's tone is very muddy and not tight at all. It should be a clone of a Rectifier, but Peavey failed IMO. The clean is decent, yes, but not perfect either.

The 6505 or 5150 can do a very good lead and crunch tone, and has decent cleans as well. Search for "Charvel Model 88" on Youtube and click the first video and listen! :)

  • love your tone like always.

  • @subhumanproduction thanks dude!

  • hey man awesome test. i have a question for you.
