As the club begins to build up speed and the left hip makes the first move down the target line before it turns backward, the width of the stance will hold up just fine. If you have a tendency to lose your balance, your stance might be to narrow. w w w (dot) golferbreak80 (dot) c0m
For a long time instructors taught students to have the feeling you were “sitting” on a bar stool. I always believed we should have been teaching people to feel as though you were “leaning” back on a stool. The last thing you would ever want to do is sit in golf. Sitting will cause the golf club to swing too level to the ground in the downswing, and you will have a tendency to hit the ground behind the golf ball. w w w (dot) golferbreak80 (dot) c0m
What I like about Padraig (and this goes for Singh and Villegas as well) is that he has a very distinctive swing and personality. To me, he stands out in a crowd of stereotypical golfers (ie Adam Scott and Anthony Kim, no offense). That he puts out Tiger like wins in Majors (and he did win the first Open against Tiger, give him some credit). 3 for the last 6 with another top 10 and making all the cuts, thats pretty dang good.
if majors are so much harder to win than normal tournaments, then why has tiger won 30.43% of the majors he has won as a professional which is the same as the 28.97% of regular tournaments that he has won? because a tournament is a tournament, and tiger is better than the rest, the difficulty of majors is an artifact, that everyone buys into, "you judge a player by how many majors he has won" no you dont, you judge them by their scoring average compared to everyone elses each year....
k well if u were a competative golfer u would know that some tournaments are bigger than others. A major championchip is a compelety different atmosphere than a normal pga tournament. plus in majors, the fields are soo much better than in normal pga events. Only the best players in the world get to play in the majors. making it THAT much tougher to win the major. a tournament is a tournament eh? well tell that to fuckin colin montgomerey. he has over 30 european tour wins and no major titles
you ignored the fact that i proved mathematically that tiger woods has won a higher percentage of majors than regular tournaments.....though this needs to be recalculated now that he has played in 2009...... how is the atmosphere different? they are playing on a course with alot of fans standing around.....it is usually quiet while they hit.....things are not much different......it is all in your heads....
you ignore the fact that the fields are better in majors. every pro golfer doesnt just dream of winning a pga event, they dream of going further than that, winning a major championchip. . most pga golfers play better in normal pga events because theres less pressure on winning and like i said before, the fields arent as good. clearly joey, u arent much of a golfer
you also shouldnt be basing ur completely retarted theory on tiger. if u havent noticed before, tiger is not like the average tour pro. tiger is clutch in majors where other golfers are not. lots of normal tour pros can't keep up to tigers clutch putts and they crumble under the pressure of contending in a major. just because tiger has won a better percentage of majors than normal pga events doesnt meen everyone else does too u fuckin idiot. do me a favour and check the statistics of other...
..major championchip winners and see if they have the same statistics as the number one golfer in the world. if u played in any golf tournaments ud understand how completely rediculous u sound
homie.........most players play about how many tournaments per year? 25? four of those being majors.......so let's see.......sounds like those players have a 5.25X greater chance of winning any normal tournament than a major..... there is already a greater chance of people winning normal tournaments compared to majors simply because they play in far more normal tournaments compared to majors.... now if you want to go and see whether everyone has at least 5.25X more normal wins...be my guest
hah! im done here. its painfully obvious that ur completely missing the point. u should spend less time with ur mathematics and more time working on ur own golf game. or better yet play in a tournament. scince ur SUCH an expert.. hahahahahahahahaha!
no im not missing the point.........you just dont make your points clear and make them very easy to argue against..... you have yet to address the fact that players participate in many more tournaments than major tournaments in their career which may explain why they win more of them than majors.... refute the claim with something that makes sense
to clear up the confusion its not about moving an inch or anything. a ball isn't in play until a stroke is made off the teeing ground. since he hadn't taken his stance and addressed the ball and he never made a stroke to advance the ball it doesn't matter if he accidentally bumped it off the tee.
Good interview!!!The lad is class!! His wrist does get bad - Messed it up a bit when playing for colaiste eanna hurling team back in 1990. Handball (irish version) in the school hall at lunchtime am sure didn't help it either. Legend!
lots of players tap the ball on the tee before they hit, i see couples do it all the time... good thing he didnt try tap it on the second hit cuase hed be going for 2 from there :)

Harrington is the only player to have a better scoring average than Tiger Woods when Tiger Woods is his playing partner
