I've had mine for about 10 years and have never had a problem with it. It may not say Glock or Sig On the box but it shoots every bit as well and at half the price.
Excellent review! I was leaning between the p95 and the Smith and Wesson Sigma. Your review has helped make my mind up that p95 is the better choice. Thanks.
You can get one brand new for under $300 where I live. Not bad for what other firearm makers are charging for semiautomatics pistols these days. Once I get my tax return I'm gonna buy one. Had my eyes on this gun for a while.
you said the gun wont win a beauty contest. I don't know man mine is jet black and I shit bricks the first time i saw it. tho its kinda heavy I still love it. Much more than Glocks, But that's just me.
Just bought this ammo. I prefer Federal Champion ammo from Walmart. LOVED IT THE MOMENT I PULLED THE TRIGGER! Hands down much nicer than my Sigma 40ve, but I am holding onto the sigma too for home defense.
Well done vid! I shot a friend's p95 a couple weeks ago and was very impressed with how accurate it was. My sr9 was accurate too, but I sadly got barrel peening after 2 thousand rounds and got rid of it. The reason I was watching this vid was that I just purchased one of these today new for 295 bucks! I just don't see how this gun would be a poor deal. They shoot great, have double action, and the friends I have that own them love them. Thank for the field strip, that is deffinately going 2 help
How di you pinch the webbing in your hand with the Sigma? I have the SW40VE and have never had any problems with it. I guess it's just how you like your guns to feel and shoot. I personally love my Sigma. Cheap, accurate, and sexy
Yeah California has some of the most oppressive gun laws. I just found out that in CA if an UNLOADED GUN has an empty magazine in it. The police will consider it loaded and pursue charges as a loaded firearm. I hate this state.
great video! i believe that you've covered all relevant aspects of this review. i found this video very informative. i urge anyone who is considering on purchasing a ruger to watch this vid!
someones always got somthing to say about somthing all the time.....truth is the p95 ruger 9x19 is an awsome gun and has all the things that a high dallar guns have and i couldent be happier with my p95.and visemanech....get a life why would you post that edc vid you must have a bad back from carring all that junk....where do you carry this stuff around the moon? you can clearly see that someone handing you that stupid shit....
Have you ever had that latch as you call it pop up while putting the slide back on? It's happened to me twice and I'd really like to know if there's a quick easy way to deal with that. If it's happened to you, I'm hoping you might help me there. Love mine except for that.
Why in the world do you have Federal ammunition? Sure the stuff is cheap, but it gets the gun dirty faster than Winchester and the rounds never eject in the same fashion.
@thedothedew I have never ever had any issues with the cheap Federal ammo. Who cares if the gun gets dirty (I'm going to clean the gun after every range visit anyway) and I have not had any issues with ejecting either? When I go out, I only put a few hundred rounds down range at a time. What do you care what ammo I'm using? It works for me and it's cost effective!
i heard that the alternative for smith and wesson sigma is the ruger p95, which would you recommend for conceal carry. ive heard alot of negative reviews about the sigma
@azn1980 The P95 is a great gun, but it's a bit beefy form concealed carry. I have done it, but there are much better options for CC. I know that people bash the Sigma, but I never had a problem with it functioning..My issues were more with the trigger pull...didn't much like the trigger pull. If you like Ruger look at the SR9, it's a better CC choice.
@azn1980 The P85, P85 Mark II, P89 and for those who want or need a .45 the P90 are also good if you can find them. I had a P89 and P90, would like another of each. The Ruger P series is tough to beat.
great gun. got for a great price and cant complain .ruger is one of the best hands down. had few problems with federals jamming at first. but like he said ,new gun its expected. recoil is at a minimum for a 9mm. awesome review and keep it up.
Not to bash Glocks or anything, I really like them, but I think the p95 is a very nice looking pistol, especially for the price range. Not as pretty as a lot of Sigs or a Beretta PX4 for sure, but I certainly think it LOOKS nicer than a Springfield or Glock. Just my 2 cents.
WTF Mate!? You carry that to save your life in a dangerous situation. I'm a gun owner, I love guns. Hell, I even have an AR-15, but you should take this down lest you actually have to use a gun to defend yourself and some ambitious prosecutor sees this video.
It is not a given that the reason the people get a ccw and carry a gun is to protect their lives in a dangerous situation?? Shooting hollow points at targets like pumpkins is great fun! You should try it, and while your at it, lighten up. :)
I do have the tough Ruger P95 exactly the same like yours, im from Philippines and would like to know what particular kind of cleaning solutions or oil do i have to use in my gun. thanks !
good review, i recently bought a p95 , and im a BIG guy , meaning i took an extra hour to find a handgun that didnt feel like it was going to break in my hand , my point is can you recommend a leg holster for a p95 ,
I agree about the grip but it's not really a major issue for me. Thinking I might get a Houge grip and see if anyone makes an aftermarket safety that closly matches the one on the right side. So far not one jam ect. At 30yrds, all in the kill zone after a couple hundred rounds. Good vid. I'll check your channel after this thunder storm passes.

the first time(today) i shot the p95, man, my wife shot the first shot, the first shot and it fired like 30sec AFTER she pulled the trigger, also, it was ejecting live rounds or not ejecting anything at all !
It depends and it's subjective. For target practice I use cheap Federal, Blazer Brass, or Winchester white box. For carry and defense I use hollow points...too many brands to name...
They are easy to break down. Just watch a few vids here on YT on gun cleaning. You can pick up a cheap gun cleaning kit from Wal Mart along with some cotton patches, a bottle of Hoppe's 9 and some gun oil and you're good to go!
Excellent review man. Proud owner of the kp95r in black (blued) slide.
Like how you emphasize the gun is "inexpensive", not cheap. Ruger made a great 9mm with this one. 0 malfs of any kind and about 1500 rounds down range.
This is a great first hand gun, but also a great last hand gun...
Highly recommend trying out the 17 round mec-gar magazines. 17+1 and it fits flush.
