i got into the ghost in the shell series through a friend lol she gave me a dvd of the first ghost in the shell film and i seen it and i got interested from then onwards but does anyone know what order the series goes and does stand alone complex take place after both ghost in the shell films?

Ok, so here is the deal. There were two movies first, the original which was self titled and the second which was Innocence. The first and second movies were taken mostly from the mangas but not entirely. After that the first and second seasons of Stand Alone Complex which is based off the manga but not taken directly from it. Last the newest movie, Solid State Society, ties up the ending of season 2. All of which are amazing. I challenge someone to find better writing then Ghost has. :D

@hazehound187 To my knowledge the other person who responded is not quite correct. The two movies (original and innocence) are based on the Anime. The Stand Alone Complex series (as well as 2nd gig and SSS) are also based on the Anime, but a different "universe". So while both the original movies and SAC share similarities they are not in the same universe, but based on the same Manga.

well, since you asked and you dont mind spoilers, i will answer. after the battle with the armored suit, the major picks up something, that something was their intelligence chip (or something like that). They were able to reconstruct the chaises of the old ones and put the intelligence back in them like they never left. Also, check out my new vids.
