  • my god it's very beautiful

  • I have a connection like this with my Mom, she feels it when I'm sad, 800 miles away. My Dad just died, and I am there for her now, when she needs me. This is real...

  • prekrasna pjesma - amazing song

  • I LOVE his songs...his voice...so touching!

  • Your mother and father are thinking of you, my sweet brother.

We'll always love you till eternity, and we will be reunited in heaven

    Your sister

  • His albums are sold in museums and gift shops by many of the beautiful castles and historic sites in Scotland. He captures the mood and history of our Celtic heritage.

  • I keep coming back to Steve's songs, they're very beautiful and some make me tear up. I always wondered where the musical abilities that my sister and I share....clearly its in the MacDonald genes.

  • I have owned this album since like 2000. I love his music! I own all of the albums!

  • Just love this, the words, composition. It makes me feel so emotional everytime I hear it.

  • I had the words to this song memorized the first time I heard it. I absolutely love his music and I'm thrilled to find this here! Thank you for posting it!!!

  • first came across this a few years ago on his stepdaughter hollie smith's cd & promptly bought all the steve cd's I could find, played this track repeatedly,it'sso hauntingly beautiful and is so expertly crafted. a true craftsman, many thanks for posting it

  • Sons of Somerled is a killer album too. I'd recommend it to anyone. The 1996 version is the best in my opinion.

  • I just found out that the girl singing with Steve in here is Hollie Smith. She collaberated with him on a few songs and is a fantastic singer herself.

  • It's hard to listen to this and not get choked up. Steve McDonald is truely a talented artist.

  • our hearts belong to scotland

  • My favorite Steve Mcdonald song.

  • this is for Littlebear, we'll miss you forever more my brother... you and all the others taken from us too soon.

  • This is my favorite of all his songs, although each on that particular CD is wonderful.

  • In memory of my brother!

  • We'll remember you forever, my brother!

    Always, till we'll meet again.........

  • If you guys Like Steve McDonald, I recommend Celtic Woman. They are another good group. But I love them both.

  • A werry beautiful song.

But i like Ken Mclellan´s cover version mutch more "Ken Mclellan - Fallen Flowers"

  • Actually this song is from an album called "Light From a Distant Shore" by Hollie Smith. Steve McDonald produced it and a good deal of the songs on it feature him... She's his stepdaughter, I think. It's a really good album.

  • The beauty of this song is only outmatched by its sadness. The meaning behind it is so powerful that it always makes me cry when the mothers part comes up. I am truly and deeply moved by the passion in this song

  • My brother died 11 years ago: this is a hymn to him, especially for his and my parents!

    Great song!

  • Thank you for posting this, my cousin had died of a brain clot in his sleep a few years back. They played this at his funeral, and coming from a family of 100+ people it just brought back old memories of me and my cuz playing together...

  • The history of this battle is amazing and the idea that the fallen soldiers become flowers in the battlefield is almost as amazing as the music between McDonald and the female voices.

  • Without one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I love the poetic nature of his songs, and how they have an older feel to them. More like they're modern versions of traditional songs.

My computer got fired and with it all of my music, so thank you for posting this song, it'll tide me over until I can get the CD's again :

    )

  • I'm glad you think so. :)

    and you're very welcome.

  • such a beautiful song. :)

  • Halidon hill was a great victory for the English army against the Scots. After the victory we put a King of our choice to rule them and Bewick became an English city.

  • Ooh. I didn't know that.

    Thank you.

  • WOW... This is amazing! Who is this guy? I came across his music by pure chance... and I love it. I have been listening to other songs, and they are just as great.

  • I'm glad you think so :D

Steve McDonald is a wonderful composer/instrumentalist..Originally from New Zealand but he has a Scottish backround (and most of his solo songs reflect that)

  • @WynterSong Esta canción es de un album cuasi-conceptual llamado Stone of destiny. Todas las canciones son geniales y tratan sobre leyendas e historias escocesas...

  • It made me cry when I first heard it to. So beautiful.

  • i like this music very very much

  • Absolutely gorgeous

  • I agree :)
