  • does it record video???????????????

  • @kortedfranela The XS does NOT record video, no. I picked this up a few weeks ago to dabble in photography. The quality is phenominal, but I'm jumping up to the T3i for the video capability and the added ISO. Definitely a great starter camera

  • Finally, a reviewer who doesn't ramble on about irrelevant bullshit. Quick and straight to the point.

  • can you do a review of the canon rebel T3?

  • @JoePro1155 T3 is a great dSLR. I have it. You can check out my picture on flickr which I took earlier.

  • if a point and shoot camera has a 12 megapixel sensor but a 1000d has a 10.1 megapixel sensor does that mean that the point and shoot is better altogether?

  • Loved your video. Just wondering if the 'live feed' feature just works on the manual function? Mine doesn't seem to turn on, while camera is in Auto Mode?

    Thanks

  • Does anyone know what to do when this camera won't take pictures like it just thinks forever and it won't take is there a way to reset it? I really need some help!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm in need to take pictures! Please help I've been looking everywhere and can't figure it out.

  • This is a great camara

    .love the way it feels

Just got it few days ago and its officially my best friend <3

  • I want this :/

  • Im getting this camera friday <33

  • I have the EOS Canon Rebel XS, got it this year, I need explict details on how to get that LIVE VIEW to work. Not a camera person, new to the whole scene, But, youtube has been very helpful, hands on. thanks. I was In N.Y.C. and missed many great shots because I didn't know how to use the LIVE VEIW, and was wondering where it was located on the camera, The store I bought it from ( camera) was helpful in a quick way, but too fast to retain. Ended up doin' the sqwint/lense thing whole time .

  • what do u recommend canon eos 1000d or sony a390?which one gives more good image quality?

  • @LifeIsBetterInColor it doesn´t have video....so

  • Wow! Thanks for the detailed explanation. I got all the way down to the last instruction...When I want to AF (still setting on P?)when I hit the AF button it says "One shot"/"AI Focus"/"AI Servo". I still don't see anything on the screen?

  • Best review I've seen of the Canon Rebel XS. I've had my camera a few months and I didn't realize that it had a 'live view' function? Where do you turn that feature on?

  • @Designed4giving put your camera in the program mode (P on the dial)

hit the menu button and search for "Live view something", hit set and turn it to "On".

Go back and hit set to enable live view.

    to get autofocus

now go to custom settings and navigate to number 7 which is about live view functions, set it to either "Quick AF (screen will dissapear during focus)" or "Live AF" (screen will stay on live view).

go back and when you want to AF hit the zoom out button on the right

    Mastermindzh

  • @mastermindzh -- Can you only have the LIVE VIEW on the creative side (like P, TV, AV, & M) only ? Or can you awlays use live view on Auto too?

  • @raverkiid08 had to go get my camera to try this one :P.

I only seem to have live view in the creative area :)

just put yours in P which is fully automatic but gives you control over anything if you want!

    Good luck

  • Hij is en beetje druk en zo ;-)

  • It's a GREAT camera.

But 1600 ISO really isn't that high... I mean it's fine but I wish it was higher.

  • Does is shoot video?

  • @spacerevolutiongroup nope!! which stinks..

  • there is software to enable video

  • @FrankDaTanka where can i find the software for this?

  • Canon eos rebel Xs or Nikon D3000?

  • Excellent review and very easy to watch.

  • I just bought this camera online cannnot wait to get it :D

  • I switched from Canon Digital Elf to this late last month, and INCREDIBLE! But I barely know how to use it..I've got a lot of unanswered questions :(

  • Whats the difference between a 16mm lens and a 18-55mm lens?

  • Just one of these for aviation photography.

  • great overview/review.

  • I just got this model for $300 second-hand ... a beginner with SLR technology and my first ever DSLR! I'm loving it! Great review, very informative straight to the point! Nice one.

  • hi where did u get it for 300?

i want one and im trying to find the best price

  • @ExoticBlue22 may i ask where you got it second hand? was it in good condition?

  • Glydeuserhelp:

I think you have already bought camera, but I just say still. Buy this one! becouse sony alpha a200 (and 220) doenst include "LIVE View" so you should buy a330 then. And that cost 100Dollar more so this is much better option! -And I own this camera, this is good!

  • Canons are the best, so comfortable to use

  • that was a really helpful review--- thank you

  • im getting this camera by next week, but lots of people told me its confusing. O.o

  • Great review.. got this camera a week ago... superb image quality! takes a while to get useed to how to do things... settings, but it is definitely worth it.

    Best quality|price combination!!!

  • hey i just got the camera and was playing around on it and now when i take a pic the shutter seems to get stuck and go really slow, how do i get it to the settings when i first recieved it?

  • this or a sony alpha a200

  • canon man. no question.

  • xs is better then the xti

  • ya for first time people.

if you want a better and have the money go for the xsi its 3.5 fps and higher res i think its around 12.5 but 200 bucks more. so if you have the money and know alittle about cameras go for the xsi!!!

  • this is the best review for canon 1000d ever made so far! it's very clear and succinct! mmmm... i'm now having second thoughts of getting a canon over nikon!

  • @ed10908

    is canon better ?

  • i hate those american names for the cameras

  • @magix93 like what?

  • this guy has no idea what he is talking about

    shit review

  • What do you recommend?

  • What should i recommend?

  • Well you said this guy has no idea what he is talking about. I am looking to buy this camera. Do you know any better ones?

  • Oh i only mean the guy in the video.

If you are an beginner with dslr then this cam is fine. Even better is the rebel xti. Or a nikon. But dont get sony or all the others.

  • ya rebels rock but go for xsi (3.5 fps, 12.2 mp, 3.0 inch

  • 2:00

  • can he talk any faster? there were a few times where he had to pause to breath.

  • lol this is the tigerblog guy.

  • Rebel's are gr8! had a couple, ez to use, gr8 photos
