  • I'm no longer a believer, but I'm with Larry 100% regarding Stryper. I'll put Soldiers Under Command and To Hell With The Devil up with my Crue and Maiden jams any time!

  • Larry the Cable Guy ... an underground christian metalhead... that is awesome to know

  • amazing everybody out there if u know how to play guiatar, bass,or keboards please join my band cause were playing stryper in the band

  • 30 people do not know talent. Especially guitar duo talent.

  • Larry you and Stryper are awesome I also know also Stryper's song and lyrics.

  • I LIKE HIM EVEN MORE NOW.

  • Glenn Beck is Mormon. Larry the Cable Guy loves Stryper.

    Somethings just make perfect sense.

  • @plunderpunk2 Yeah, there is "hope" for us yet! and i don't mean that 2008 kinda hope!

  • @plunderpunk2 I've learned more history in 3 years watching GLENN BECK then i've ever learned going through grades k-12! educate yourself, listen to GLENN BECK and "GIT ER DONE!" GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  • @ROBB21265 i meant "GIT R DONE"

  • @ROBB21265 "I've learned more history in 3 years watching GLENN BECK then i've ever learned going through grades k-12!" Maybe if the American public school system clumsily wove half baked conspiracy theories concerning topical events, issues and figures (replete with Nazi Germany/Hitler comparisons to keep the entertainment/fear factor jacked up) into their lessons like the great prophet-patriot Beck shamelessly does, perhaps then you would've "learned more history".

  • @plunderpunk2 NO, if the schools were not so busy "brainwashing" the kids (the obama songs) maybe we would have kids that can compete with the rest of the world! oh, i forgot, obama said AMERICA IS LAZY! silly me! he knows best, thank god for obama! he knows how to take care of us all! (HA,HA,HAAAAA!)

  • Are you ready?

Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a women with lust you have committed adultery with here in your heart?

If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Does this concern you? The Bible says despise the value of your eye compared to the value of your soul. would u sell your i for a million dollars? And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. needgod.com

  • IRON MAIDEN!!!!!

  • Larry the cable guy. LOL! What a funny dude!

  • Comment removed

  • as good as any metal band ever. let's be real tho...... oz is good but Michael is the writer of all the riffs and the one whom is truly deserved of 1 of the best ever titles!!!

  • wow.... Larry is very cool! I knew he liked the Huskers but add that to Stryper... wow!!! so awesome!!! im beyond words

  • LOL larry :P

  • i used to like stryper when i was like 13 then i found about deicide and death metal after that its all about the dark side

  • "Larry" would think Stryper is a great band. I also like how he said how this Christian band is great and if you don't like it you can kiss his ass. Nice.

  • Larry i love you man!! ..call me man...come back to bakersfield...leave your # 661 326 1604 . i'll be waiting to get you here..and yes stryper roxx

  • Most Christian rock bands are all "it's ok to be cool and Christian, children." But not these guys. They're not just putting 3 chords behind some praising stuff. They're not religious. Religion thinks we all have to be the same, aka boring. Stryper isn't scared to get hardcore. that's how all Christians should be.

  • Merle, Maiden and Stryper... Sure, why not?

  • @artemusprine cover all bases

  • if you listen to metal then you should know this band i dont like their religion thing but i cant say they suck cause they dont

  • Stryper is #1 rock on Larry!

  • I like Larry the Cable Guy even more now.

  • @bagelguy520 lol so tru

  • Cool video! And since I only know Larry as Mater from "Cars", now I know what he really looks like. :)

  • HAHA I AGREE WITH YOU LARRY stryper is one of my Faves...

  • @jamieknight7777 i love stryper their lyuocs move me im not christian but their songs move me

  • @MsVipersvenom let the songs move you to learn more about God and what he says about you

  • Kolyma666 - what really is your issue with Christians or Christian music for that matter? What really is your agenda with comments like that? Though you could probably care less, I still say I pity your blindness thoughts!!!

  • i never thought id say this, but i now have the utmost respect for larry.... ;-)

  • Yeah "STRYKER" Sang really High Octanes, them and my other fave "Iron Mullet"

  • I don't know man . I think STRYPER might be the reason Metal PPL worshiped the devil in the 80s!! I know there are a lot of Christian "Heavy" bands now .Back then the other less famous Christian band "Ken Tamplin and Shout" were late 80 early 90 they are cool. They played Shred GTR Shrapnel type stuff , Grunge rock They have close to 10 albums. As for Stryper...this is a bit too light for my taste.Thumbs up if you agree!!!

  • @ChaoticRealm7771 Putting their best/hardest against each other, Shout: In Your Face ROCKED but is no match for Against the Law from Stryper. Listen to them back to back and you'll agree easily. There were lots of good Christian Metal bands from that era. Bloodgood, Rez Band, Guardian, Holy Soldier, Rage of Angels, Vengence, Whitecross, X-Sinner and Barnabas are all pretty good. Check out my channel for some different bands from then. Rez and Stryper are the best live by a million miles though.

  • @Echoboy2002 I respect your opinion . I like a rawer sound . I don't like the fact Styper are considered Thee band of Christian Metal ,they are glam . I didn't like the band Extreme for example , they have that Swing groove in every song . I like the commercial band Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow " Ritchie parted ways with Glen Huges for playing swing R and B influenced songs, like the groove on "Killer Queen" Blackmore would never do that .I thought "Shout" is better than stryper That's my opinion

  • @ChaoticRealm7771 I hear ya. Rock on! =)

  • It shocks me when people say Stryper were not metal, Seriously.... Take a listen to "The Way" "Soldiers Under Command" or "Loud N' Clear" .... They were Christian Metal. This song is more of a commercial song which EVERY band has, It's an amazing song, But the majority of their stuff is METAL

  • Larry the Cable Guy you sir kikass... Stryper pwns

  • Another reason to like Larry the Cable Guy

  • I just them tonight and they were awesome! and it is amazing how they ended it with a prayer to help some of the people there

  • I just saw them last friday 3/18/11. I have seen them several time. even though they are getting old. . . they still sound fantastic. . . as good as they ever did. . Love Stryper

  • deliverance is better wayyyyyy better thrash till death

  • dude! i have a way new respect for Larry the Cable guy!

  • "That guy was four octaves above an octave......" It makes you wonder... =)

  • yeah....anymore i can't call this metal even tho media calls it metal (same with other bands of the like *poison/warrant,ect ect*) but its still good!

  • hahahahahahaha

  • I saw them at Hershey arena on the to Hell with the Devil tour back in the 80's and Michael can belt it out live.

  • I LOVE STRYPER AND MAIDEN!! LOL KICK ASS BANDS!!!

  • This isn't metal.

  • @MrChristmas365 This song isnt too metal but MOST ALL of their other stuff is pure metal. Michael Sweet can out scream anyone ive ever heard

  • I LOVE striper BASS!!!

  • 897powerfm

  • This is funny as hell!! Larry the Cable Guy and 80's glam excess in all it's cheezy glory.

  • Octane,Octave. same thing

  • Hey manofthemaker the lord will always welcome you back and yes stryper rocks

  • THANK YOU. Someone else who can appreciate the "Sweet" works of Stryper!

I grew up on these guys! And I believe I will die with these tunes in muh ears! :p

  • I used to be a Christian but I fell away for a while but listening to this music kinda makes me want to come back man this music ROCKS!!!

  • @manofthemaker that's because He's always there for you even if you fall away. He loves you and knew your name before you even existed. If you know Him but have wavered for awhile it's okay because I've done the same thing but what I've found out is that these songs don't just pull at your heart strings... it's a longing for a relationship with your heavenly Father and what you are feeling inside is possibly the Holy Spirit telling you it's time to come back. Come back to the foot of the cross.

  • @hammerfistofjustice Amen brother

  • @manofthemaker Bless you

  • @manofthemaker

I fell away from Christianity years ago but I will forever love Stryper and Michael Sweet cause they keep the faith for those that believe and I think that it really important to keep faith in what you believe in...no matter what that may be.

  • @llyj GOD still has his eye on you! and loves you so so so much. You may have left him be he hasn't left you. come back to your first love,JESUS!....Praying for you man! Remember Satan is a liar the father of it!

  • @manofthemaker come back brother.i slipped away from my faith for alot of years but have come back to faith(trust in god). god is waiting for you

  • Oh and Stryper is an OK band, but I'm not a fan of their vocalist. I like screaming banshee vocals, but this sounds like screaming banshee mixed with opera. It just doesn't sound right with me. :/

  • I used to pronounce it Striper

  • Maiden yes. Stryper HELL NO. But I still love ya Larry!

  • I used to hate larry the cable guy, but since he likes Stryper AND Iron Maiden,

    he is my favorite comedian

  • @maidenizeyou iu agree up the irons and to hell with the devil my friend

  • God and Stryper rule!

  • If you listen to some of Iron Maidens music, it is influenced by the Bible and so is Black Sabbath's War Pigs, so if you dislike Christianity and anything to do with it, then why do you like the bands I just mentioned? Ozzy was once in to priest hood.

Stryper is an amazing band, and I am very proud of being a christian myself.

  • I worship the dark lord but I love STRYPER

  • @mbm13213 I've never heard him called the Dark Lord, I study many different religions and I am Christian, however in all my studies he was never mentioned as the Dark Lord.

  • i say keep religion ouf of the rocknroll bussiness. religion seperates people rock is for everyone !

  • TheMetalheadPeng... check out other songs like to hell with the devil, more than a man, soldiers under command, surrender, loud n clear, cmon rock, the way. stryper has a whole bunch of metal sounding songs that rock. maybe they arent metal, but ill tell u 1 thing, there 80s hair metal. STRYPER ROCKS.

  • hech yeah ! git-er-done !! larry is awesome.

  • I saw Larry the Cable Guy, now Stryper needs to come up to Alaska to play. They are AWESOME!!

  • Larry the Cable Guy knows his heavy metal.

  • who wouldve thought that Larry the Cable Guy was a Maiden fan? haha

  • being a forever stryper fan,to me this is my all time greatest songs from these god gifted men.thankyou god for bringing the to us and thank you stryper!

  • how many guitar changes will they go through, great song tho!

  • I always thought LTCG was a dumbass but I guess not.

  • This is the ONLY time this guy has ever said something smart.

  • kick ass STRYPER

  • Mortification is the better Christian metal band but the best is Living Sacrifice and Extol I don't like one more than the other but they're both great.

  • these guys were and are great showmen

  • @2intenseee You're only sayin that cause you're too ignorant to admit Christian music is way better than that secular garbage! You can argue on forever, but the fact is, If you didn't like the band you could have gone to some other video of a futile secular metal band screaming pointlessly, but you just couldn't stand the fact that Christian music does ROCK and you just HAD to post your stupid comment to defend the bands without a meaning!

  • @qwecars The only thing that's different between Christian, secular, and "satanic" music is the lyrics. Yes, I like Stryper and Trouble and most of the White Metal bands, and I think God's cool and all, but I also like secular bands like Manowar or "pure evil" bands like Angel Witch and Hell. Saying Christian music is better than secular and evil music is a load of crap.

  • @KingOfTheDead77 When I said "Way 'better' than", I meant lyricaly! The meaning and purpose of Christian music is much deeper and has a positive message. I listen to ALOT of secular music such as (my favorite) Van Halen, I am a musician myself & I find it hard to find good Christian music such as Stryper, but when such music does exist, the secular music in (lyrical) juxtaposition is just futile and serves no meaning besides entertainment!

  • @qwecars The meaning of Christian music isn't necessarily any deeper or more meaningful than secular music, or music influenced by other religions for that matter. Bands like Sabbat have some of the most thought-provoking lyrics ever, based heavily around Paganism. The lyrics to songs like Do Dark Horses Dream of Nightmares sound like they were taken out of a medieval book of poetry. I like Stryper and their message, but music is supposed to be entertaining, not always meaningful.

  • @qwecars And another thing, "futile secular metal band screaming pointlessly"? Not all secular music is pointless or meaningless. Fates Warning's Guardian is a song about hope.

"I had a dream I was you strong as the fire

In your veins then when I called out your

Name I would remain and witness the pain

I am beyond silent black I will be back

    As your guardian"

That's poetry. Screaming "God is cool" through a cloud of hairspray isn't.

  • They could've turned the keyboards down a bit so i could hear the guitar rhythm sections. After all, it is a metal band.

  • Larry has great taste! I respect him even more now. I am as big Stryper fan. This song contains one of my very favorite vocal high notes (on last chorus)

  • This earned a ton more respect for him from me

  • great Larry, one Christian band and a satan band. dufus

  • @1bruiserboy Iron Maiden are not satanic.

  • rock on btw didnt know larry like metal lol

  • I absolutely loved the song Calling On You. But I didn't care much for any of the others. Michael Sweet's vibrato really harps on my nerves after awhile. Pretty annoying.

  • NICE! iron maiden and stryper, wow what a combiniation! haha

  • Stryper is very compelling. I seriously think that even the critics are bangin' their heads to this stuff when no one isn't looking :D

Not only are they pretty darn good, they are FUN!

  • Lol larry is funny as hell

  • man how can you not feel awesome after hearing this song??

  • awesome band truly my favorite

  • Dude this is freakin awesome!

  • He's right about Oz Fox. Just married an ex prostitute

  • Stryper does it over & over again. They show that Christian Rock is nothing to be ashamed of. Keep it up guys you rock. Saw them for the first time this year loved them but that is due to the fact it was the first time they ever played in Montreal,Quebec,Canada.

  • @Starchild0013 I have no religious beliefs at all, I am a man of science, astromomy in particular, but I love these guys. Did when I first heard them on The Yellow and Black Attack, went to see them on In God We Trust tour out here in Australia. Still like them now

  • Dang....how high is he singing @ 4:40 ?

  • very

  • @daspudster01

That would be a really high, nearly inhuman, F#.

That is if you wanted a serious and technical answer... ;D

  • They call that a High G my friend!!!:) michael sweet is the best. great guy as well as the best, in my opinion, metal vocalist ever to live.god blesses his voice, because he sings for god.

  • never throught I'd hear stryper & iron maiden in the same sentence hahahaha

  • Yeah. We all tried to block it out........thanks alot YUUTUUBE!(vomit noises)

  • larry has good tatse in music, don,t think I,ll do the wig thing,

  • I went to their concert yesterday and they were just simply amazing! They are very very very talented musicians . I fell in love with the guitar playing. I was in awe when I saw their show.

  • I actually thought that this album was too poppy. If not for 'The Writing's on the Wall' (great song) and 'The Reign' this album would have been way to light-weight. Probably their weakest album (Barren Cross kicked their butts anyway!!).

  • This guy's got a third lung! Amazing voice! God bless them!

  • I love how "metal" isn't "metal" anymore, yet it can be considered "nu" metal or "thrash metal" or "metal core" but when it all comes down to it... metal is the music that the average pop listener turns down when it's on the radio. Why? "Too loud" or "Too Heavy" is what they typically say. Guess what? TIMES CHANGE. My MOTHER likes Stryper and she's 52, but she hated'em in the 80's. Why? Times change, so do interests and influences. WHO CARES if they like God - they're musicians. Judge THAT. :)

  • No matter what any one says..Stryper is one of the best bands ever..

  • @Dorian17xD I don't measure a Christian band's success by a secular television station's ratings. Stryper are hypocrites who would be nowhere if they weren't using God to sell their music. I don't break my genres down nearly as finely as you do, but no matter how you slice it, Stryper isn't metal. Rock, glam rock, sure. Metal? No.

  • no matter what type they play, their songs are great to hear....

  • Back then, Stryper could have been considered Metal. It was the early 80's, the average Heavy Metal band then would be considered Glam now compared to today's standards. Besides, the term Metal is just a broad genre today where just about anything with guitars falls. Heavy, Death, Cores, Nu, Industrial, Symphonic, Black, White, Christian, Pirate, you name it, it exists.

  • adolson "In God We Trust" is and was a metal song you idiot. So was "Rock The Hell Out Of You" from Against the Law, "To Hell With The Devil" etc etc etc. What do you call it when riffs are played that heavy and with such extensive use of pinch harmonics... I'm pretty sure that's metal. And this is coming from the perspective of someone who also listens to Cradle of Filth and a lot of Nordic metal, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.

  • Yup, you're right. A couple of their songs can be considered metal. Doesn't mean they aren't a glam rock band.

  • @adolson it is funny that you are calling someone else a hypocrite when you are just as guilty of it as any. How do you know anything about them? There are so many people out there that are christians so does that mean they ALL use God? How do you know God doesn't use them? Before you judge, you might want to take a long hard look at yourself.

  • @hmcgill911 I am not perfect, but how do I know anything about them? Easy. Saviour Machine, Narnia, and Mortification put up a site begging them to give back the over $50K they took from the poor Mexican people and canceled their concert. Stryper then went on to sell "Stryper in Mexico" shirts (what a joke), with a portion of profits going to the people they robbed in the first place. Google this. It happened shortly after they reunited. All about the money.

  • @adolson Yep, God, Satan, Goth, Kiss, Gwar, it's all a gimmick to make money. Everyone has something to sell!

  • One the best band that were ever formed...Robert is a "leonardo" with the drums...oz fox, WOW!!!micheal, amazing and powerful voice...THEY ROCK "FOR ALL ETERNITY (from their song: all of me)....

  • Weak, that's not Metal takes more than long hair , guitars and leather. Wouldn't one of the worst sins be using God as a gimmick to sell records?

  • not for a reason, and they had reasons. they became devoted to god, and god granted them there hearts desire. Maybe you should take a look at nations they use god as a gimmick. Really every nation but israel is a gimmick

  • Who says Christians are sissies? These dudes went balls out in to the enemies camp. Openeing for bands like ANTHRAX & TWISTED SISTER, they were deep in the trenches, FEARLESSLY spreading the Gospel mesage. That is what I call some serrious OUTREACH! If you dont like STRYPER, keep to yourself. These guys ROCK!

  • I was a big Stryper fan too lol

  • great band, great song. one of the best metal bands to emphasize on melody and harmonic structure.

  • Satan hates you.

  • @coffinbuilder Why would anyone be afraid of Satan? He is NOTHING!

  • False

  • Gotta be careful with gossip.

  • larry the cable guy rocks

  • Wow, I have a new found respect for Larry the Cable Guy. I think he is 100% right.

  • False.

  • @MarvinMar what is false?

  • @j0nj0n3697 Probably a response that I deleted.

  • This genre is a joke? According to who? This band sold millions of records and people actually know who they are, like lots of bands from this period. This type of music had widespread appeal, as opposed to today's metal which virtually no one listens to and no one can name anyone in the bands. I don't know if that is a joke, but it sure is funny huh?

  • JESUS IS LORD

  • Amen

  • Just seen these guys live in TO.. They still got it after all these years.. Michael still had the best voice in the buisness..

  • He talks about OZ, but I was suprised (never having seen Stryper live until recently) at what a great lead player Micheal was too. He actually plays a majority of the guitar leads. ROCK ON!

  • So true. He's every bit as good as Oz Fox. His lead in Free is amazingly good.

  • Actually the lead in Free is Michael and Oz is the rythm, but listen to The Way or More than a Man and you will listen to Sir Oz Fox doing a great lead guitar ;)

  • I know, that's what I said.

  • I saw them live many years ago, and as a hair band, they are good. The genre today is basically a joke, but I still pull out the old stuff. POD, Pillar, etc is more todays standard. Being a metal head, I'm glad that the church has opened its mind to the face that there are more genres out there that will speak to more people....ROM 3:23...

  • Gotta say this, stryper had the best duel guitar soloing then anyone else, that i've heard anyway.

  • I would be going to a stryper concert, but I gotta have heart surgery when they are coming near me.

  • Hail Nebraskans!

  • jesus loves..SLAYER

  • I hear he loves everyone.

  • im seein them 9/11/09!!!!!

  • Actually it was all the christian book publishers that had shocked looks on their faces.Must of cost millions doing to go back and rename all those books! Plus the idiot preachers who've based their whole ministries on 666 and what it means. In the Satanic Bible there is not one mention of 666 or 616. The only place its used is by christians and kids trying to look rebellious.

  • stryper and iron maiden!! the guy has AWESOME taste in music!!

  • haha larrys got good taste in music!!

  • Love sweet with Boston!

  • the number 666 is in reference to Emperor Nero not the devil. aslo iron maiden drummer Nicko Mcbrain is a christian.

  • Stryper is the BEST HEAVY METAL BAND in the world . !

  • i love iron maiden but i am also kinda depressed that they named their albulm flight 666. its terrible... i love them but i also dont want to support them with a name like that...

  • wow that's awesome! he likes stryper and iron maiden!

  • Lol.

    Kinda...

    Ironic?

  • TobyMac is a rapper/hip hop music kinda guy. There is NOTHING heavy about him xD The heaviest song he has is probably Ignition, or Catchafire :P
