I remember the John Birchers in my hometown in the 60s - all on the far, far right, & knew one personally who would go through public/school libraries, then try to get books banned he didn't approve - he kept files on liberal professors at the local college. Today's religious right can be like that too. I do agree with you that many on the left are intolerant of dissent, but feel it is more historically accurate to compare to commies, not Nazis.

I was asking if you were serious, because it sounded like brainwashing. "Teaching" kids about religion when they are young (i.e. an age where their critical thinking abilities aren't developed enough to question anything they are told). And only christianity? Doesn't leave much of a choice for the kids. They would obviously go with the one they are familiar with, if any.

As for enemies, it depends on how you define them. My "enemies" are misguided and ignorant. I don't really have anything against them, for their own oblivious suffering should be adequate. I "do good" by trying to enlighten a few. I also get enlightened by them and that's why I love debates. I get the chance to become a better person and make better decisions based on new knowledge.

Shintoism is a break off of Buddhism/Confucianism/Animism.
Shintoism isn't a religion in the Sense of Christianity, its more of a spiritual guidance, whereas Christianity is a Guide to life and the rebirth.

My main point has been very "out there", I don't think I need to reiterate. It was about children being "tought" either christianity or islam at a young age and therefore the odds of them following that particular religion they have been "tought" instead of another one is very high. The other one was that religion isn't necessary.
