The IWC does allow a certain number of whales to be killed for scientific research but the IWC also declared that particular part of the ocean to be a marine sanctuary for whales. The japanese use one IWC ruling as an excuse to hunt whales, but dispute the other IWC ruling as "not binding". They pick and choose the laws they wish to follow. The Sea Shepherds try and prevent the whaling under UN GA RES 37/7: World Charter for Nature which specifically allows persons or associations to take action
Japan's "research" ends up in supermarkets. Research? I think not. Does Japan have Australia's permission to conduct "research" in australian waters? I don't know.
Since when is the South pole even IN the water? It's in Antarctica, on LAND! Even if all the ice melts it will still be on land. I do NOT want to sail with anyone who thinks the S Pole is in navigable waters at the helm...
come on mIkee1434 i bet youre japanese .... lol ... the LRAD was used and the Japanese whalers are outlaws ... and i agree sea sepherds are true heroes ....
the problem is when there won"t be anything left in the sea the same that fight seashepherds now will say they were right and cry their eyes out .... tooo late ...
Who is the FBI to call anyone a terrorist? They burned 86 men, women, and children alive in Waco, TX.Some called them the "Federal Bureau of INCINERATION for that. As long as the Green Scare continues and peaceful protesters are imprisoned or driven off, underground warriors must use more aggressive methods, as they do around UCLA primate vivisection in response to people going to prison for giving out leaflets.
it is astounding to me that people can't see that, as goes sea life, so shall go life on land. it's sad to say, but we (man) are doomed to extinction by our own hand through ignorance! or is it arrogance? what do you think?
As I recall, the helicopter pilot specifically complained about the LRAD, saying it created a very dangerous situation, presumably for flying. The Nisshin Maru is one of the most violent ships on Earth short of a US aircraft carrier. This Nisshin Maru and the harpoon ships exist for one reason-to KILL.
I'm sure the whales would consider sinking the Nisshin Maru to be just as important as the Brits considered sinking the Bismarck to be.
and a warship was never sent either. What will they lie about next!
YOu are clearly a very violent and sociopathic person to suggest such action be taken against a non-violent ship and encourage further violence by the hands of Sea Shepherd
