HE THAT BELIEVES AND IS BAPTIZED SHALL BE SAVED JESUS SAID IT. JAMES SAID CAN FAITH ALONE SAVE A MAN? WHY WOULD THE EPHESIAN DISCIPLES BE ASK UNTO TO WHAT BAPTISM THEY WERE BAPTIZED AFTER THEY BELIEVED(ACTS 19:1-5) ONE BAPTISM THE ENUCH WAS TAUGHT WHEN PHILLIP PREACH TO HIM JESUS(ACT 8:35-39). SEE HERE IS WATER WHAT IS STOPPING ME FROM BEING BAPTIZED OR PHILLIP DON'T YOU SEE THAT I HAVE FAITH WHY WONT YOU BAPTIZE ME SO THAT YOU WILL SEE THAT I BELIEVE(ABSURD) JESUS SAID IT MUST BE DONE
Then, how do you answer John 3:5 which states, " Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." It's pretty clear that baptism is essential. Also refer to Ephesians 4:5 which states,"One Lord, one faith, one baptism." Thus, these two scriptures makes it clear that being born again spiritually and being baptized by water is critical and essential for salvation!
@drmacavinta The word “water” of John 3:5 refers to the natural birth of man in context with “womb” of verse 4 and “that which is born of the flesh is flesh” of verse 6. To be born of water is to be born of the flesh (womb), to be born of the Spirit is to be born again. To be born again (born of the Holy Spirit), to have everlasting life, one must believe “in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18&3:36).
@javypez - I have to disagree with your argument, Christ was born of the water and of the spirit (Matthew 3:15-17). In these verse, Christ set the example to "fulfill ALL righteousness" and likewise, he is the WAY the TRUTH, and the LIGHT. The light we follow is his example to be baptized. If he being HOLY was baptize by water by immersion HOW MUCH MORE do we need to be baptized of water BEING SINNERS and Unholy?
@drmacavinta If "we" fulfill righteousness by something we do, that is works. Notice that Jesus said "us", this means Jesus and John are both fulfilling all righteousness. Jesus is the righteous, see 1 John 2:1, so there is no need to make Him righteous, and John is fullfilling all righteousness and is not even being baptized.
@drmacavinta Concerning Eph 4:5, One cannot come to Christ unless he is called by God (John 6:65, 1 Corinthians 12:3), This is what is taking place in verse 4. When one believes on the Lord he is baptized with the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:15-17, Ephesians 1:13), this is verse 5. Then he has access to the Father (John 14:6), this is verse 6. When one trusts Christ he is baptized with the Holy Spirit before water baptism. Eph 4:5 is refering to Holy Spirit baptism.
"You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart"." I will be found by you" declares the lord. "And will bring you back from captivity" "I will gather you from all the nations and places where i have banished you," and will bring you back to the place from wich i carried you into exile" Jeremiah chap: 29 verse: 13
"Please understand, Baptism is important. You should be baptized. We are in no way intending to diminish the importance of baptism." - Your videos, being in disagreement with the words of Christ, himself, IS diminishing the command of Christ. Once again, if it was good enough for Jesus, the 3000 on the day of Pentecost, the eunuch, Paul, the jailer and his family, and numerous other examples in Acts, it is good enough for me. They are all examples of what to do. Why fight it?
Baptism is not necessary for salvation; but it is the ordinary means of salvation. Just as the church is the ordinary vehicle of salvation, but not a sina qua non of salvation.
My question is this: who holds that baptism is absolutely necessary for salvation? Who would say that a misguided but sincere believer in Christ who somehow doesn't think he should be baptized, but who believes in Christ for his salvation by grace through faith - who would say he goes to hell? I can't think of anyone.
@foucachon 1 Peter 3:21 and Acts 2:36-40 (specifically v.38) say you need to be baptized... so does Paul when he tells John the baptist's disciples that you need to be baptized (Acts 19:1-5) not only for the gift of the Holy Spirit but for the forgiveness of sins also! It is necessary, why, because you need to have the faith it does what it does or else 'they go down a sinner and come up a wet sinner' ..i would never want to roll the dice to go to heaven, i would want to obey! (John 3:5 also)
Matthew 16:18-19. If the Bible teaches on a subject, it is BOUND by the Word of God. The Bible speaks clearly on baptism. Jesus says baptism saves you. (Mark 16:16) Therefore, it is bound by God, which means we HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE IN THE MATTER. To say baptism cannot save you is a direct contradiction to God's Word. Please read the Bible and do not be charmed by men's fancy words. (Romans 16:17,18)
Water baptism was prefigured in the flood of Noah; the flood waters washed away the old world of sin so likewise the baptismal waters wash away our "old world of sin".
-------------------
Also, faith itself is a "work" just as John 6 says it is.
@TheBlackPhantom454 Faith is the work of God (John 6:29). God gives faith to some...not to everyone. Faith is a fruit of the Spirit. Baptism is a figure, a symbol, a picture. It washes away sins ONLY in a figure, or symbolic kind of way. Only the blood of Christ can take away sins. Man can do NOTHING on his own except sin against God.
