  • Much more enjoyable than being stuck in the soup the entire trip, IMHO

  • Popping out on top is always cool... but wait until your first approach to minimums in actual, still remember my first as a student, flew into Okmulgee, OK. Next chance I had to fly down to actual minimums was a few years later in a T-38A at Laughlin AFB, TX in USAF SUPT... was a whole different ballgame in an approach Cat E aircraft, but still a heck of a lot of fun.

  • @BMWMarv

    Did you go to Spartan?

  • Yes, flew out of Jones-Riverside back in 1989-1990, did the Oklahoma-Kansas-Arkansas-Missouri tour for my student cross-countries. What I think is really cool is that I remember flying on a dual X/C into Ardmore and watching a couple of USAF students take off in T-37 Tweets, not knowing that 4 years later I would be doing the same thing :)
