Hi CassetteMaster!, I join the club of collectors of this model Lloyds. I bought it only for curiosity, and their sound reminded me of my first cassette recorder: a Juliette I had when I was about 10 years old. Your recorder looks great, mine is yellowed because it was exposed long time to the sunlight and is full of scratches, while retaining complete and works great. Of course, no accessories.
I actually just bought one of these today! Although mine is missing the case, it does still have the original 30 minute cassette and three of the five original batteries!
I bought a Rexina CT-500 a few months ago. It must have been dropped multiple times, the door is broken, the mesh is dented and scraped, and the speaker is useless, but it still worked like a charm. apart from some electrical issues...
I'd like to see a video of the internal components, just to see how far the similarities go.
This unit came out after the 8V84A that I have. They started to "cheap" on it. No more meter, now an ALC circuit which accounts for the distortion. You got it at a great price!
you said a mouthfull there. i had this same unit, and I loved it for the memories, but I wouldn't touch any Lloyd's unit anymore with a 20 foot pole. i learned from my mistakes. I had a Lloyd's stereo [among a number of other Lloyd's units] and i spent more time constantly fixing the damn thing than I did actually listening to it. I mean, COME ON! when i fixed one thing, something else would break a week later, finally I got fed up and threw the fuckin thing in the dumpster LOL
i wish i hadn't have done that now though... it was my first non-boombox stereo, and it meant a lot to me because it was also the very first item i ever bought with my own money when i got a job when i was 16.
i'm sad now LOL... and I wanna apologize to Ricky for chucking that stereo... as low-quality it may have been, IT WAS STILL VINTAGE, DAMMIT! lol
You use a CD player?!?! How dare you! No, just kiddng. That Loyds Works great for being all original. Yeah, the only draw back is it being DC Bias with the scratchy "S".
WHOOOOO!!!!! I had that EXACT, EXACT same tape recorder!!!! AWESOME!!!!! Except mine didn't have the leather case.
Also, I wouldn't do anything but voice recording with that thing, because if it's anything like mine, you'll get a lot of wow and flutter unless the batteries are brand new, and even so, the sound quality would be horrendous.
I don't have this tape recorder anymore though because the buttons wore out and wouldnt stay down, so instead of keeping it, i just layed it to rest.
I had it for about 10 years, and me and my friends used to talk and screw around on it, and I still got the old tapes.
Yup, even though the thing was so low-quality, and that I hate Lloyd's equipment, I still loved this recorder because of all the memories it holds, and it's nice to see an identical one again. I feel all nostalgic now lol.

Is that cassette deck down in the corner at 4:59 a Pioneer CT-F500? I have that cassette deck and it's a really nice model too.

Lloyd's was one of the worst band I've ever seen. It is the same brand as the 8 track player on one of your past vids.
This Lloyd's cassette recorder is suitable for podcasting.

And BTW I'm sure the tape recorder is from 1972.

Very similar to a brand called Crown sold in Brazil in the 70´s. The CROWN was good and reliable.
