"largely smoke and mirrors" is what they said about the defence, even though 7 of the witnesses recanted their previous statements?
That is what you get from a justice system which is a CONTEST OF EGOS AND PUBLIC IMAGE. Very similar to America's foriegn policy. The poor get screwed while the powerful send out their message "don't fuck with us" and money talks!
Although I'm in Britain, an ex-empire that's gone to seed, I just hold you in contempt and pity the stupidity of such a system!
White folks are from the hillsides and caves of Europe. Most white people are sociopaths and "blood shedders". This is why they kill animals for "sport". They love seeing blood. Research was conducted by Pat Buchanan. It says that the "white" race is disappearing. White women are not having many babies, and most of the white women who do have babies, have them by "black men". White men tend to be homosexuals. Black men, keep making babies with white women. You are "eliminating the white race".
All races were affected by this and it's just sad because it continues to take us 5 steps back when we are trying to move forward. Please don't let this change the person you are inside. What goes around comes around, and people will be dealt with in due time! It's very hard to change your views of people when you continuously have bad experiences with that "type" of person, but wrong will never be right and right will never be wrong. God bless you all and God please help and bless America
there was evidence against him..just was;nt allowed ..u stupid liberals he did id it and is dead..thank GOD...there are more whites on death row than blacks..look that up..but u won't care...fake ass assholes..
@jjcatful What horsecrap, there was no "evidence" against him not allowed, and the "evidence" they DID have was a pack of LIES. There is MASSIVE question as to whether he did it. There are NOT "more whites," blacks are THREE TIMES more likely to be on death row than white.
But the single most VILE thing you say is "Thank God," how DARE you blaspheme like that! God is DISGUSTED by our cold-blooded murder and the racism and sadistic cruelty of our "justice" system, God has NOTHING to do with it.
@jjcatful Thank you for PROVING MY POINT (and for providing a site with a MOUNTAIN of evidence of how cruel our "justice" system is, and how racist it is)
African-Americans make up 12.6% of Americans. But 35% of victims of capital punishment are black. THREE TIMES MORE LIKELY.
Race of the victim is also a massive factor, a white victim is FAR more likely to lead to execution than a black victim. The whole thing's just sick, and goes directly counter to what we CLAIM to believe in.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I don't know where you are getting your numbers from..there are more whites on death row than blacks. As for your claim about how blacks make up 12.6% pop. and 35% victims of capital cases..Thats like saying the system is sexist because there are more men on death row than women.
@jjcatful There being "more whites than blacks" is IGNORING that blacks are there at THREE TIMES their numbers in the overall society. Black people are VASTLY more likely to get death for exactly the same crimes as a white person. Blacks get it far more than whites, death is given for the death of whites FAR more than of blacks, and it's also insanely classist, a person who can afford decent lawyers almost NEVER gets the death penalty. It's inexcusably unjust.
@PrisonerNumber9653 You have some good points here...If you are rich, your punishment would likely be much less time than a poor person. That's why I believe in capital punishment in some white collar crimes.
@79goldmaster1 That's just sick, just sick. It's sick enough that we murder people for violent crimes, now you'd murder people for white collar crimes, meaning stealing money? That's so counter to EVERYTHING this nation stands for. To put money ahead of human life is just vomit.
@PrisonerNumber9653 In your opinion, nobody deserves the death penalty? THAT'S sick. People have to be held accountable for their actions. Hell, if I get a DUI , second offense, I know I'll go to jail...And you don't think that Ted Bundy deserved to be executed? Check out Paul Dennis Reid. And he's still alive! What the hell good would Paul Dennis Reid ever accomplish? Think about all the fast food workers he killed.
@79goldmaster1 No, opposing state-sanctioned murder is NOT "sick". At all. People should be held accountable for their actions? Fine, I call upon the governor of Georgia to be jailed for murder. Upon the parole board of Georgia and the US Supreme Court to be jailed for murder.
But, they're all rich and almost all white, so they won't ever be jailed.
Paul Dennis Reid is a HUMAN BEING, murdering him won't bring those victims back. Punish him? Absolutely. Murdering him is as wrong as his crimes.
@PrisonerNumber9653 What's wrong with being rich and white? Is that a crime? You can be rich in many ways. Good health, large , close family, wisdom. Who wants to be wealthy and sick? Paul Dennis Reid had no mercy for his victims....Sure, I think prison is too good for him. Taxpayers, like myself, shouldn't be burdened with upkeep of the Paul Dennis Reids in the system.
@79goldmaster1 Nothing is wrong with being rich and white, dumbass, what is WRONG is our system which gives incredible advantages SOLELY for being rich and white. THAT is very, very wrong.
You don't belong in America, you belong in the old Afghanistan, you'd make a perfect Taliban. Chop of their arm for stealing a loaf of bread. Accused of worse? Fuck trial, shoot him in the head in the town square as a warning to others.
Burdened with upkeep? You fucking Nazi, kill him to save you money?
@PrisonerNumber9653 You've got a chip on your shoulder bigger than an elephant turd. You must be mad at everyone all the time....mellow out! The world may end tomorrow and that will reduce everyone to dust
@79goldmaster1 No, asshole, I'm not mad at everyone, I'm mad at bastards like you who think it's just dandy to murder for money, who think people dying, CHILDREN dying so a few corporations can have profits in the billions is fine, that there's nothing at all wrong with it.
Shove "mellow out" up your ass. I will NOT "mellow out", will not just close my eyes to injustice and pretend it's not there. If the world did end tomorrow, I know I've used my life for a PURPOSE, you've obviously not.
@79goldmaster1 No, it's not "idiocy", rejecting your sick, vomitous greed and hate is NOT "idiotic". It's common decency. I'm NOT saying anyone owes ME anything, this isn't about me, this is about people in poverty.
You've got a sickness, an illness, that thinks it's OK to only give a shit about yourself and not care about anyone else, and this nation's tried for decades to brainwash people into thinking we should all think that way. "Look out for No. 1" "Greed is good". It's dead wrong.
@PrisonerNumber9653 If a person doesn't look after himself, no one else will. That's not greed, that's common sense. I'm far from being considered rich and I don't look down on anyone . A person can be a complete asshole whether rich or poor...white, black , red, or yellow. It's sad that more and more Americans are slipping into poverty. What's even worse, a lot of these people will turn to crime . I don't have all the answers.
@79goldmaster1 See, I totally disagree with that "everyone for themselves" BS. It is NOT common sense, it is greed and NOTHING but.
Yeah, more poverty DOES mean more crime, and this "we need smaller government" blah blah blah means more poor people. And more crime.
I don't have all the answers either, but we DO know that poverty leads to crime, that the ONLY way out is education, and STILL people want to cut education funding and programs to help the poor.
@PrisonerNumber9653 It's hard to be greedy when you make less than 30,000 per year. But I've helped countless people who have asked for help, buying gas or groceries, or small loans for them. We do need smaller government. Certain problem areas(such as poverty, hunger, and education) should be drastically increased. But some departments should be downsized. That would save on federal retirement plans and thus billions could be diverted to needed areas.
@79goldmaster1 And that's great, I admire the heck out of you helping people, but "smaller government" absolutely IS NOT the answer, it will make the problem much WORSE. You can't help EVERY person, nor could I. But all of us TOGETHER can absolutely make a major advance in eliminating want. Every person together...that's all "government" is. If you give someone 20 bucks for food but cut their food stamps they're a hell of a lot worse off in the long run. more
@79goldmaster1 What "departments" would you want downsized? I'm GREAT with a massive reduction in our money wasted on war making and empire building...as Obama actually INCREASES military spending (I refuse to call it "defense", it's nothing of the sort)
You talk about "saving on federal retirement plans," and that means fewer workers, and more unemployment, the exact OPPOSITE direction we should be going. More working in public service means more employed AND more work towards a better society
@PrisonerNumber9653 Reduced military bases overseas, plus maybe postal service cutting back. I can remember a time when kids fresh outa high school could land jobs which would provide families a good living. Now where are those jobs? I just think that it's not right for huge retirements benefitting government workers...and I'll be picking up aluminum cans to make ends meet.
@79goldmaster1 The postal service cutback is a lousy idea and won't save that much anyway. Corporate greed is the reason those jobs are gone, union busting is the reason those jobs are gone. Profits are at RECORD levels, why is income down?
It IS right for people who've EARNED a secure retirement (it is NOT "huge") and if you're picking up aluminum, what the HELL are you doing defending the mindset that put you there in the first place? If that's true you should be a flaming liberal.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I'm not really picking up cans...but I know some people who are. I just don't think it's right that Congressmen vote themselves raise after raise and then retire multi-millionaires. They are supposed to work for us...not themselves. They are also against term limits. It's always good to see some incumbants lose their re-elections. I feel the top tax bracket should be raised and the bottom lowered. I could build up my own retirement if paying less taxes.
@79goldmaster1 Yeah, I do too, and it's a disgrace. The wealthiest nation on the PLANET has millions who are hungry and homeless. It's inexcusable.
the problem is NOT the salary of Congress. They "retire multi-millionaires" because of the lobbying they do AFTER congress, if we have lobbying reform we can cut that crap right off.
Term limits is a dreadful idea, one the founders very much opposed. Again, we need campaign finance reform, NOT term limits, which throw out the good AND the bad.
@79goldmaster1 No, it absolutely IS NOT "always good to see incumbents lose", it's often a real disaster. The millionaire who bought Feingold's seat in Wisconsin is a perfect example.
What should be raised, their taxes? Yeah, the taxes on the wealthy SHOULD be raised considerably.
You're worrying about your retirement, while there are people who don't know where their next meal is coming from or how they're going to get treatment for their child's disease, the priorities are dead wrong.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I agree that there are a lot of good politicians, but it's refreshing to see some new faces. Most wealthy people are on a power trip too. Who knows, someday we may have a billionaire President. Retirement is only a dream right now.....I'd like to retire with good health and favorable circumstances. I'll probably end up just another poor old SOB.
@79goldmaster1 It's great to have new faces IF they're the right new faces. The way to do this is with aggressive campaign and finance reform, not to force out good legislators that the people WANT just to get "new faces". Term limits have been an unmitigated disaster in most state houses and senates.
ALL people should be able to retire in favorable circumstances, and all people of ANY age should have decent health care. There should be no poor old SOB's.
@PrisonerNumber9653 In an ideal society everyone would have plenty of everything...I'm for that. But we all know life is a rat race and we have to struggle sometimes. I think about the jobless, homeless, poor, and wonder how people can survive. We really need a booming economy with many good paying jobs to offset our nations' decline.
@79goldmaster1 We have to struggle ONLY because we've been fooled into thinking if we struggle enough we can be better off, while we know from the past this won't happen.
The problem is "We'll get better jobs if the economy is 'booming'" is used to excuse the whole rich-get-richer thing, Reagan LIED with his trickle down bullshit. CONSUMERS WITH SPENDING POWER create jobs, not wealthy people. Fewer poor people will make the economy boom.
@PrisonerNumber9653 President Obama was a welcome addition to our political arena. Reagan also inspired people in 1980. When a career politician at 85 years old works in a factory like me, or understands the problems of living in poverty, they will get my support. I see people struggling every day , just to get by. Why should we embrace some multi-millionaire career politician who doesn't understand the working class? I welcome all new faces in Congress.
@79goldmaster1 Well, I'm getting a little weary of Obama's sell-outs, he inspired people with the idea of change then turned out to be not much different from the guys before him. Reagan inspired nothing but nausea with me, I knew long before most people outside of Cali every heard of him how awful his agenda was. The politicians don't have to live in poverty to understand it, Bernie Sanders being a perfect example. We'll never get a congress member who's on food stamps, unfortunately.
@PrisonerNumber9653 You're right.....A member of Congress to be on food stamps would probably need about 80 children to qualify. And with John Edwards around...who knows? Seriously , I think Reagan would have ended almost all entitlement programs had he the chance. He even got the income tax put on unemployment insurance. That was a real slap in the face for laid off workers.
@79goldmaster1 Reagan's vicious attacks on the poor are still a part of the national vernacular, this horsecrap of "welfare mothers driving new cars" is still everywhere.
It's a shame John Edwards turned out to be such a lowlife in real life, he was the only candidate taking poverty seriously from either party in decades. He'd have made a good president if not for his damn zipper problem.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I totally agree about decent wages. It's bad when you're considered lucky to get a job at Wal-Mart or McDonalds. In the town where I reside, there are many empty industrial buildings where people used to work. It's sad that these buildings housed many decent paying jobs. Now they're just another reminder of an economy that's turning into a cesspool of entitlement junkies.
@PrisonerNumber9653 The ideal work situation is when companies have to compete with each other paying more and more for the best workers. And plentiful jobs create a demand for that. Now, a company can expect to pay people less because of the abundance of persons out of work. Like I said earlier..I'd be more than happy to work on a garbage truck for good benefits, decent pay and nice retirement plan.
@79goldmaster1 No, the ideal work situation is when all people are paid a decent wage and can also have a life away from work. We have people out of work, and companies are paying less and less as a result, robbing from workers more and more and exploiting their desperation to maximize profits. There's nothing ideal about it at all.
The people on a garbage truck deserve good benefits and decent pay as much as anyone else, we should ALL have those things.
@PrisonerNumber9653 A company has the right to make a profit. Most don't share that profit with their employees. Maybe $50 at Christmas is enough for some, but I'd like to see $500 or more. If I made the Alex Rodriguez salary, I would gladly pay 50-60% income tax. Taxes should be raised for these high earners.
@79goldmaster1 I disagree, there is no "right to make profit" anywhere. It's something that's been created out of thin air, and it's not benefiting the nation or the people. No, they don't share with their employees, and they should. You're absolutely right about the high earners, taxes need to be raised on them, pretty significantly.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I drive a car that's 27 years old...bought it new. I always admired Jerry Brown driving his old car as governor of California. Government should be more like this and less like $1000 suits and $300 haircuts. Wouldn't it be funny to see Nancy Pelosi driving in a Gremlin or Lamar Alexander in a Chevy Vega? A $1000 car, Wal-Mart clothes and a $10 haircut!
@79goldmaster1 That's a fine notion in general, but it's not remotely practical. I've never met a member of Congress who couldn't make more in private industry, and you're not going to get better government by driving them away. The whole "$300 haircut" thing remains mostly myth, they do make a good deal of money but that's not where the problem lies. I'd rather see reform of campaign finance than just making the legislators poorer, increasing the chance of bribery problems
@PrisonerNumber9653 My argument for term limits also involves age. An eighty year old cannot make 100% rational decisions. I feel it's ridiculous that there have been even some 90 year olds in Congress. This makes no sense at all. I believe Reagan was too old in his second term and McCain shouldn't have even been running.
@79goldmaster1 If you think (falsely) that an 80 year old cannot make rational decisions, vote for the other guy. We've had BRILLIANT lawmakers who were that old, and 40 year olds who sucked. John Dingell for instance is a great legislator and he's at least 85. Inouye's very good, too.
Reagan never should have been elected in the first place because he was corrupt and had a horrid agenda from what was THEN the far right and is now mainstream Republican thought.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I have no personal hatred for anyone. I'd just like to see more efficiency in government , starting at the TOP. I'm not saying that the President should stay in a Motel 6, but let's face it, that entourage to India was a LITTLE extravagant!
@79goldmaster1 "efficiency" meaning "give the rich more tax cuts by firing people and gutting services people need."
This moronic bullshit that the problem with our nation is that the president doesn't travel coach and drive a 15 year old Datsun is insane. To much spent on military madness, and taxes WAY too low and too many goodies for big corporations is the problem, not this "entourage to India" that right wing hate radio tried to turn into a news story, which is wasn't.
@PrisonerNumber9653 One thing is certain; everyone can't work for the government. And with the country broke , who will pay the pensions? I've witnessed companies downsizing for years. A 25% cut across the board would be tough, but needed. Do you realize it takes 1 million government employees to give away all the grants, loans, entitlements, etc. I'm not talking career soldiers, I'm talking people sitting on their asses giving away our tax money!
@79goldmaster1 There's no reason everyone can't of course, but I'm not talking about everyone working for the government, I'm saying the reason we've got such an unemployment problem is the major cuts to these programs, restoring those would not ONLY employ hundreds of thousands but reduce the suffering of those served by the programs, win win.
A 25 percent cut would not "be tough" it would be insane.
Yeah, and that those programs not ONLY help people but employ them is a GOOD thing.
@79goldmaster1 Those people do NOT "sit on their asses" they're working like anyone else. And they're not just "giving away our tax money" there is a REASON people get this money. It puts poor people into better housing. It educates our kids. It keeps the heat turned on in the middle of January in Buffalo. There's a REASON for it. This hate of all public servants is not only nasty, it's incredibly destructive. We saw in Oklahoma City the conclusion of hate of all government.
@PrisonerNumber9653 The government programs are really helpful for a lot of people....but couldn't they give it away with 750,000 employees? Through the years I've seen one good secretary do the work of three average ones.
@79goldmaster1 I seriously have no idea what on earth you're saying here. None at all. Give what away? What on earth is the deal with "good secretaries"?
@PrisonerNumber9653 I meant perform the same duties with less personel. Every profitable company stresses this, and if you don't agree ,they show you the door. It's not always pleasant, but this does happen.
@79goldmaster1 They AREN'T performing the same duties, the services have been drastically cut, and it's NOT a good thing to have "less personnel," meaning more unemployment AND fewer people actually helping others. Every "profitable company" stresses this, which is why we must VOMIT OUT this vile idea that companies that are "profitable" are to be admired. They are NOT. It's not merely unpleasant, it is immoral and unsustainable. It's time to care more about human beings than profits.
@PrisonerNumber9653 The public works idea really hit home with me. I'd be as proud to ride on the garbage truck as to work in a factory. Might build up some decent retirement!
@PrisonerNumber9653 I've never made an in depth study of Federal Retirement...But personal experiences reveal a nice livable pension plus great healthcare benefits for retirees. Everyone should be blessed with bountiful retirements, but unfortunately that's not the case.
@79goldmaster1 Well, I have, and those people EARN those benefits. They EARNED that right, people DIED for it. They get better benefits because they get less in pay. We spend TRILLIONS on war-making and empire building and mass murder, and you want to take the money NOT from that, but from old people who served this nation and it's people with honor their whole life.
It's not the case that retirees have a secure retirement because of GREED, you act like it can't be changed. It can. Easily.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Poverty is a viscious cycle. I feel if current programs are updated to current needs , we can diminish a large portion of the nations' poor. But the problem remains; where will all these people work? Jobs are scarce. I'm totally for the working man or woman. Companies put so much stress on workers...faster....more....faster....more....you are too slow, you're fired! Then you go back to first base and start over.
@79goldmaster1 You're right, the ideal some have of every able-bodied person working isn't remotely possible with the increasing "efficiency". All these technologies were SUPPOSED to make our lives easier, remember? When machines did more work, everyone was supposed to have more free time. But corporate greed killed that. If we had a living wage and a 30 hour work week for everyone we COULD have full employment. The only other way is major investment in public projects.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Helping others reach ambitions is an excellent ambition! Sometimes we need a guidance counselor troughout life. Many make mistakes or are just undecided about their future. Even me, at 50, may be changing jobs soon. Factory work gets old after 31 years .
@79goldmaster1 Absolutely, and that's one of the biggest problems we have is that a huge percentage of Americans cannot hope to have any kind of choice. I bet factory work would suck about...well, for me about a day and a half, for practically anyone 31 years would be a killer. People SHOULD be able to pursue what they're passionate about and good at. Some of the most brilliant musicians and artists I've known had no time to work on their art, they had to go paint houses to feed their kids.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I've never been a demonstrator, agitator, or much of a hell raiser. I do that in the voting booth. I would like to see everyone : employed, content, drug free, and most of all, succeeding in their lifes' ambition .
@79goldmaster1 I'd love to see everyone employed, that will NEVER happen. We've developed too much technology and "efficiency", the ONLY way that happens is with MORE public projects, and we're cutting and cutting and cutting them. The only OTHER way is a 30 hour work week with a living wage, and we're moving in the OPPOSITE direction. Content? Not until there's economic justice instead of the wealthy hoarding it all. "Drug free"? We need more treatment for the hard stuff, legalize the rest.
@79goldmaster1 Succeeding in life's ambitions? My ambitions are to help OTHERS reach ambitions. I got a roof over my head and enough to eat, everything else is gravy.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I wasn't put on earth to complain about all the bullshit that's wrong. The U.S. Congress IMO has greatly damaged our nation. Government should be smaller and less intrusive. We have to live by the laws they make. Most of the laws passed usually help big corporations and banks. THIS is injustice. The American people, especially the poor and middle class, should benefit from huge spending bills. Not wealthy corporations.
@79goldmaster1 I was put on the earth to try to make things BETTER for people. It's not "intrusive" to feed children or get housing to the homeless, help people see a doctor when they're sick or educate our next generations. It's not "intrusive" to prevent factories from poisoning us all.
We should just shut up and "live by the rules"? Would you tell Rosa Parks that? Martin Luther King?
YEAH, most of the laws passed benefit the corporations and banks, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!
@79goldmaster1 This is what I've been saying for YEARS, you're just confirming it, that a HUGE percentage of the people who babble this right wing stuff THINK they're doing the right thing, THINK they're helping the little guy against the big guy. But in your bunkum about "smaller and less intrusive government" you're doing the dirty work for those corporations and banks! THEY are the ones who want smaller and "less intrusive" government! The "tea party" isn't grass roots, it's Koch Bros.
@controversyking What a load of shit. It is NOT "white guilt" it is lack of racism and concern for JUSTICE. Nobody said Tookie was innocent, they said killing him was wrong, AND IT WAS, and that what he'd done since being jailed was admirable, AND IT WAS.
NOBODY "assumed" Troy Davis was innocent, they LEARNED it through studying the case and what happened. But a hell of a lot of white people on the hard right ASSUMED he was guilty and celebrated his cold-blooded murder by the state of Georgia.

For some reason black people are enamored with black killers ( not being sarcastic...) Seriously, Look at these people --> 1. O.J. Simpson, 2. Tookie Williams 3. Troy Davis... Do you see asians flocking around an asian on death row? Any jewish protestors over someone on death row? When the racist white trash Lawrence Russell Brewer { dragged a black man to death behind a truck } was killed I did not see very many white protesters for him... STOP SUPPORTING LOSERS!!!
@stevenabb Plenty of black people have different opinions on all those cases. OJ, yeah he's a rotten person WE THINK but they didn't PROVE he killed anyone, and if the idea is "well, if cops cannot be racist then obviously this is true" is laughable, police racism is rampant. Nobody admires what Tookie did before, but what he made of his life and contributed to society after he was incarcerated. As for Troy, it's a sick, despicable injustice, Why support the murderers of Troy Davis?

@79goldmaster1 It's not about whether this guy is guilty or not. We don't know that. It's about burrying him when there are still too many question marks. Plus why wasn't casey anthony executed then?
@agata521 I agree that there should be thousands more executions in the U.S. Even white collar crimes like Bernie Madoff, etc. But it has never been a perfect system. The small number of executions receive way too much publicity. It's sad for all involved in criminal cases...especially the victim.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Murder is a capital offence for which ultimate justice is the death penalty. I feel strongly that there is some good in everyone...even serial killers. But society cannot deny the safety of its' law abiding citizens and must incarcerate dangerous criminals. Sadly, death row inmates must wait years for their ultimate fate. Justice should be swift.
@79goldmaster1 It's a despicable LIE to call murder "justice". The death penalty is NOT justice, it is cold-blooded murder. It does NOTHING to make "law-abiding citizens" the SLIGHTEST bit safer.
Justice should be SWIFT? My GOD you are just SICK! It's bad enough we murder people, now you want them murdered FASTER! We have HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of cases of innocent people being put to death, you want MORE by limiting appeals? That's barbaric.
@PrisonerNumber9653 And it's not "barbaric" for criminals to rape, rob, stab, beat, and murder innocent citizens? It's sad that these worthless criminals are not executed by the thousands . We would live in a much safer society.
@79goldmaster1 My kids were about 3 when they learned that "He did it FIRST!!" wasn't an excuse for inexcusable behavior. To say it's OK for our SOCIETY to be barbaric because of individual acts makes no sense at all. NOBODY is saying we should reward crime, of course. But it's a vile LIE to say people who commit crimes are "worthless", no human life is worthless.
And the only people who thought executions by the thousands are appropriate are people like Hitler. We would NOT be safer. At all.
@PrisonerNumber9653 thanks for your comment...you are liberal and I'm conservative. I am compassionate when it comes to poor people, handicapped people, one parent families, sick and old....But cold blooded murderers deserve no compassion or leniency. Just because someone is sorry doesn't make the criminal act any less severe. Firm and quick punishment is needed for all violent crimes and even some white collar crimes. That's my belief. Race shouldn't be a factor.
@79goldmaster1 ANY person deserves compassion, they are human beings. I'm not saying let them roam free, but there are far more humane ways to keep them from killing more people. The BEST is preventing the crimes in the first place, if we eliminate poverty and vastly increase educational opportunities, we KNOW this would dramatically reduce crime. We could also very easily reduce crime by getting rid of the drug prohibition laws which cause costs to skyrocket, it's where all the gang money began
@PrisonerNumber9653 I feel major drug dealers and violent gang members should be executed too. Being poor is no excuse for violence. There is something called WORK! Get a job...work hard...pull yourself up. Stay away from drugs and be focused. Eventually it will pay off.
@79goldmaster1 Excuses for violence? You're talking about murdering people, then talk about violence? What hypocrisy! Poverty and crime go hand in hand, always have and always will. When we address poverty, crime will go down. Instead, you just want to wait until it happens, and kill more people, leading to more violence.
Work? Go fuck yourself. The poor are not "lazy", they are victims of a system designed for the rich to get richer, and the poor to get screwed. "Pull yourself up" my ass.
@PrisonerNumber9653 You can get college grants and loans, scholarships. Free lunch and breakfast programs in school. Food stamps, medicaid...the list goes on. The poor have a lot more programs than middle class families. We need to appreciate this and quit complaining. Not many countries have the opportunities we have. What is poor? A millionaire is poor to a billionaire.
@79goldmaster1 "Grants and loans and scholarships" don't cover EITHER all the costs OR the loss of income. Lunch and breakfast programs in school are badly underfunded and being cut all the time, and don't do anything in the summer or weekend.
The poor have more programs than the middle class? We have MILLIONS without enough to eat.
Quit complaining? Fuck you. I will be cold and dead before I stop complaining about the insane injustice and inequality in our nation.
@PrisonerNumber9653 You must be frustrated. But the world is a cruel place. If you accept who you are and your circumstances you'll be much happier. I'd like to make an Alex Rodriguez salary, drive a Porsche, have a maid, gardener, etc., but reality sinks in every day as I go to work.
@79goldmaster1 No, the world is NOT a cruel place. People are cruel when they CHOOSE to be in violation of God and nature. FUCK "accept your circumstances" I will be COLD AND DEAD before I just "accept" this evil system that is killing MILLIONS of people so a few can be stinking rich.
Your bullshit is NOT "reality" it is a CHOICE, and we can and MUST choose to do better. You're choosing to let people die so other people can drive a Porsche and have a maid.
@79goldmaster1 And no, IDIOT, a millionaire is not poor to ANYBODY. The poverty rate is determined by cost for the most basic necessities of life, and in the wealthiest nation in human history FORTY-SIX MILLION people are in poverty.
Appreciate this? Go to hell! NO decent human being appreciates that we trample human beings in order to make the rich richer. NO decent human being appreciates a system this unjust and unequal. The poor will NOT kiss your ass and thank you for shit!

@79goldmaster1 That someone is remorseful DOES have meaning, and DOES make a repeat somewhat less likely. Not only does this hogwash of "firm and swift punishment" dramatically increase the number of innocent people we'd be murdering, but it does NOTHING to do with making us safer. For ALL violent crimes? Someone should be executed for a purse snatching? A bar fight? Why not just have the cops shoot anyone who's thought to have committed any crime on sight?
@PrisonerNumber9653 If someone holds a gun to a woman's head and steals her purse..Yes ! Death Penalty. And as you probably already know; most crimes are committed by repeat offenders. You are totally wrong about the death penalty. If you know you'll fry for a capital crime, you're less likely to commit it. Unless you are a mindless, drug crazed robot or just plain stupid, you would think about what your doing.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Swift justice shouldn't be 20 years of incarcerated death row. How about 1 year hard labor before being put to death? Barbaric, perhaps, but pretty satisfying for victims' families and taxpayers!
@79goldmaster1 Murder has NOTHING to do with justice. There is no justice at all about capital punishment, it's about vulgar revenge, it's the exact OPPOSITE of justice. I don't give a SHIT if it's "satisfying" to murder someone, it's still wrong.
Taxpayers? Go to hell! You think someone's life is worth less than MONEY? "Let's kill people to satisfy the taxpayers!" is the kind of thing the most brutal dictators practice, not a supposedly civilized society.

2 million supporters and most of the protests had about 100 people in them on the big night? On a Wednesday night? Most movie theaters have more people eating popcorn watching a typical movie. WOW, what a BIG push to support him... ANYBODY... post a link to a new article where even 1000 people where protesting for Troy! Common!!! Do it!!! What a fake groundswell of support. I bet you can find 100 people that went to a local health club that night... Yawn...
Casey Anthony was acquitted of murder because there were no hard evidence. There's no evidence (not even a murder weapon) to support Troy's conviction, but he's facing death. again, RACIAL INJUSTICE is carrying the highest note in America's choir.
LET ME ASK YOU PEOPLE THIS QUESTION, I SEE A LOT OF WHITE PEOPLE AND A TON OF BLACKS, WANTING THIS GUY TO LIVE.. NOW MY QUESTION IS THIS, WOULD REV. AL BE FIGHTING TOOTH AND NAIL FOR A WHITE MAN THAT KILLED A COP AND GOT ON DEATH ROW?????? ANSWER WOULD BE, A BIG FAT NO!!!!!!!!!
@source81 noone said "comute to life"...they want him released with a new trial..not a reduction in sentence to life.....where did you get that?????????
You should have stayed in school and learned to read AND comprehend. Instead you know only how to shout short stupid comments that clearly show your ignorance. What was the sin/skin color of the jurors and witnesses that convicted him? Dare you guess??? Shame on you Bigot!
your color isn't exactly blameless, you " bigots" even eat each other as in the jeffrey doumer case . if i were you, i wouldn't brag off my 5th grade education you corn fed " BIGOT" !!!!!!!!!!!
Listen, Whites, Blacks, Mexicans, Asians ect. are SO OVER the race card its not even funny!
Enough with the race crap!!!
They got the wrong man, its unfortunate and sad, BUT only Jesus Christ himself knows who's innocent!! I feel bad for this dude, its terribly sad---But PLEASE STOP with the "Blacks are the victims" BS! Its worn out its welcome!!
@sjoara I DONT HAVE TO TOLERATE NOR TAKE " SHIT" FROM NO BIGOTS LIKE YOU. IF YOU THINK I WILL BOW DOWN TO BIGOTS LIKE YOU, YOURE CRAZY. TRY THAT BIGOT SHIT ON ME IF YOU WANT TO, I PROMISE YOU, THIS " BLACK DONT GET BACK, INSTEAD, THIS EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. ITS NOT BLACK OR WHITE ANYMORE, ITS JUST PLAIN OLD IT TAKES SOME ASS TO GET SOME, YOU CHICKEN SHIT BIGOT!!!
it must be rough on these rich white retro-hippies to deal with their own guilt aboust something they never participated in, i.e., slavery & segregation - white man's burden - such a shame. Anyway at least this gives them something to do while on summer session from Columbia - or something to talk about over martinis and sushi...
your about a dumb ass if you think ever white person does that..do you even know how many white people came here long after slavery?stop living in the past..cus im living in the same bullshit your living in
A ballistics expert testified at the trial that the .38 calibre bullet that killed McPhail could possibly have been fired from the same gun that wounded Michael Cooper in the pool party - People! it says "POSSIBLY", there is doubt right there... do you still think his trial was fair? is this not beyond reasonable doubt? He may not be "innocent", but he is definitely "not guilty".
For hard evidence, the gun was never found BUT Troy Davis (a prior criminal) in fact shot a person earlier at a party. The bullet fired came from the same gun that produced the bullets that killed the police officer. Davis stood over the wounded policeman same gun that killed the policeman and shot him several times. The policeman had stopped Davis from beating up a homeless man. The homeless man identified Davis and never recanted.
Untrue. The homeless man never said Troy Davis shot the officer. I read the case files on this. The witnesses said the killer was wearing a white shirt, but that Davis' shirt was blue. Also the shooter confessed to his cousin that he was actually the one who shot the officer. His cousin didn't decide to go to the police dept until 15 years later because he didn't want to turn in a relative.
You are BS. You don't even know the name of the prosecuting and defending attorneys. You have never read the case files on this trial. You should be ashamed for protecting a murderer!!!
Also, the police never even went looking for the murder weapon at all, so there's nothing with Troy Davis's fingerprints, DNA, nothing. Several of the witnesses who recanted said that they didn't see Troy with the gun. The guy they saw with the gun was the one who went running to the police department to turn Troy in and who also later confessed to several people in private that he was the one who did the shooting.
Your so full of rage Sweetcakes. Why? Did you have a rough childhood? Or this how you normally act?
Your so hostile, its sad and so pathetic! Grow up Sassy pants! Wash your ghetto, gutter mouth out. Its time for change Luv. Hope you will get better soon! xoxox
@bluebirdremus That is just circumstantial evidence. CSI should use their computer to scan the victim's eyes for the last images and it will show that Troy 'Dancing Dog' Davis is INNOCENT as the day is long.
@bluebirdremus What is your source for that? I found two sources from a quick google search which presumably quotes Larry Young...that he never saw Troy Davis and didnt even know who pistol whipped him, because "everything happened so fast". Redd Coles was the one who originally threatened Young, and even admitted to having a 38 calibur pistol.
Hey! I support Troy all the way. I've written tons of letters too. I was at this execution - and all Georgia executions. That's me getting out of my car on the left at 1:38! You all keep the faith! I am just waiting for new marching orders as to what we are going to do to get Troy off of the Row altogether and after that hopefully comepletely free. No way he belongs on the Row.
why do my tears still fall why am i trapped within these walls why do my prayers fall on deaf ears why have i been locked up for years why has no one heard my crys why can no one tell me why why cant i just be freed the person who killed this man was not me i am troy davis and i am human
This is a prime example of how WHITE AMERICA values black men. THEY DON'T. If you know your history a confederate flag symbolizes NO freedom to the black man, Black MEN are feared by white people becasue of their strengh, resiliency, and awesome talent. BUT NOT RESPECTED sadly even by their own women. His killing is an example to all black men, to stop trying to be great and BOW DOWN TO THE WHITE MAN. THEY KNOW HE DID'NT DO IT. .No one gets away with anything, those responsible will soon PAY.
There is no Justice in the justice system for anyone except the elite. Total pardons and closed eyes for the true criminals. That is our justice system. It is truly an abomination that this man and public outcry for true justice go unheard. While the criminal vampire elite that are raping our country go free. My heart goes out to him and his family. Oh what have we become?

God bless you all and God please help and bless America

jjcatful 5 months ago
@jjcatful What horsecrap, there was no "evidence" against him not allowed, and the "evidence" they DID have was a pack of LIES. There is MASSIVE question as to whether he did it. There are NOT "more whites," blacks are THREE TIMES more likely to be on death row than white.
But the single most VILE thing you say is "Thank God," how DARE you blaspheme like that! God is DISGUSTED by our cold-blooded murder and the racism and sadistic cruelty of our "justice" system, God has NOTHING to do with it.

jjcatful 5 months ago
@jjcatful Thank you for PROVING MY POINT (and for providing a site with a MOUNTAIN of evidence of how cruel our "justice" system is, and how racist it is)
African-Americans make up 12.6% of Americans. But 35% of victims of capital punishment are black. THREE TIMES MORE LIKELY.
Race of the victim is also a massive factor, a white victim is FAR more likely to lead to execution than a black victim. The whole thing's just sick, and goes directly counter to what we CLAIM to believe in.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I don't know where you are getting your numbers from..there are more whites on death row than blacks. As for your claim about how blacks make up 12.6% pop. and 35% victims of capital cases..Thats like saying the system is sexist because there are more men on death row than women.
jjcatful 5 months ago
@jjcatful There being "more whites than blacks" is IGNORING that blacks are there at THREE TIMES their numbers in the overall society. Black people are VASTLY more likely to get death for exactly the same crimes as a white person. Blacks get it far more than whites, death is given for the death of whites FAR more than of blacks, and it's also insanely classist, a person who can afford decent lawyers almost NEVER gets the death penalty. It's inexcusably unjust.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 You have some good points here...If you are rich, your punishment would likely be much less time than a poor person. That's why I believe in capital punishment in some white collar crimes.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 That's just sick, just sick. It's sick enough that we murder people for violent crimes, now you'd murder people for white collar crimes, meaning stealing money? That's so counter to EVERYTHING this nation stands for. To put money ahead of human life is just vomit.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 In your opinion, nobody deserves the death penalty? THAT'S sick. People have to be held accountable for their actions. Hell, if I get a DUI , second offense, I know I'll go to jail...And you don't think that Ted Bundy deserved to be executed? Check out Paul Dennis Reid. And he's still alive! What the hell good would Paul Dennis Reid ever accomplish? Think about all the fast food workers he killed.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 No, opposing state-sanctioned murder is NOT "sick". At all. People should be held accountable for their actions? Fine, I call upon the governor of Georgia to be jailed for murder. Upon the parole board of Georgia and the US Supreme Court to be jailed for murder.
But, they're all rich and almost all white, so they won't ever be jailed.
Paul Dennis Reid is a HUMAN BEING, murdering him won't bring those victims back. Punish him? Absolutely. Murdering him is as wrong as his crimes.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 What's wrong with being rich and white? Is that a crime? You can be rich in many ways. Good health, large , close family, wisdom. Who wants to be wealthy and sick? Paul Dennis Reid had no mercy for his victims....Sure, I think prison is too good for him. Taxpayers, like myself, shouldn't be burdened with upkeep of the Paul Dennis Reids in the system.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Nothing is wrong with being rich and white, dumbass, what is WRONG is our system which gives incredible advantages SOLELY for being rich and white. THAT is very, very wrong.
You don't belong in America, you belong in the old Afghanistan, you'd make a perfect Taliban. Chop of their arm for stealing a loaf of bread. Accused of worse? Fuck trial, shoot him in the head in the town square as a warning to others.
Burdened with upkeep? You fucking Nazi, kill him to save you money?

Shove "mellow out" up your ass. I will NOT "mellow out", will not just close my eyes to injustice and pretend it's not there. If the world did end tomorrow, I know I've used my life for a PURPOSE, you've obviously not.

@PrisonerNumber9653 If you have an attitude that everybody owes you something...YOU are the fucking IDIOT!
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 No, it's not "idiocy", rejecting your sick, vomitous greed and hate is NOT "idiotic". It's common decency. I'm NOT saying anyone owes ME anything, this isn't about me, this is about people in poverty.
You've got a sickness, an illness, that thinks it's OK to only give a shit about yourself and not care about anyone else, and this nation's tried for decades to brainwash people into thinking we should all think that way. "Look out for No. 1" "Greed is good". It's dead wrong.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 If a person doesn't look after himself, no one else will. That's not greed, that's common sense. I'm far from being considered rich and I don't look down on anyone . A person can be a complete asshole whether rich or poor...white, black , red, or yellow. It's sad that more and more Americans are slipping into poverty. What's even worse, a lot of these people will turn to crime . I don't have all the answers.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 See, I totally disagree with that "everyone for themselves" BS. It is NOT common sense, it is greed and NOTHING but.
Yeah, more poverty DOES mean more crime, and this "we need smaller government" blah blah blah means more poor people. And more crime.
I don't have all the answers either, but we DO know that poverty leads to crime, that the ONLY way out is education, and STILL people want to cut education funding and programs to help the poor.
And then they complain about crime.

PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 It's hard to be greedy when you make less than 30,000 per year. But I've helped countless people who have asked for help, buying gas or groceries, or small loans for them. We do need smaller government. Certain problem areas(such as poverty, hunger, and education) should be drastically increased. But some departments should be downsized. That would save on federal retirement plans and thus billions could be diverted to needed areas.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 And that's great, I admire the heck out of you helping people, but "smaller government" absolutely IS NOT the answer, it will make the problem much WORSE. You can't help EVERY person, nor could I. But all of us TOGETHER can absolutely make a major advance in eliminating want. Every person together...that's all "government" is. If you give someone 20 bucks for food but cut their food stamps they're a hell of a lot worse off in the long run. more
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 What "departments" would you want downsized? I'm GREAT with a massive reduction in our money wasted on war making and empire building...as Obama actually INCREASES military spending (I refuse to call it "defense", it's nothing of the sort)
You talk about "saving on federal retirement plans," and that means fewer workers, and more unemployment, the exact OPPOSITE direction we should be going. More working in public service means more employed AND more work towards a better society
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Reduced military bases overseas, plus maybe postal service cutting back. I can remember a time when kids fresh outa high school could land jobs which would provide families a good living. Now where are those jobs? I just think that it's not right for huge retirements benefitting government workers...and I'll be picking up aluminum cans to make ends meet.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 The postal service cutback is a lousy idea and won't save that much anyway. Corporate greed is the reason those jobs are gone, union busting is the reason those jobs are gone. Profits are at RECORD levels, why is income down?
It IS right for people who've EARNED a secure retirement (it is NOT "huge") and if you're picking up aluminum, what the HELL are you doing defending the mindset that put you there in the first place? If that's true you should be a flaming liberal.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I'm not really picking up cans...but I know some people who are. I just don't think it's right that Congressmen vote themselves raise after raise and then retire multi-millionaires. They are supposed to work for us...not themselves. They are also against term limits. It's always good to see some incumbants lose their re-elections. I feel the top tax bracket should be raised and the bottom lowered. I could build up my own retirement if paying less taxes.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Yeah, I do too, and it's a disgrace. The wealthiest nation on the PLANET has millions who are hungry and homeless. It's inexcusable.
the problem is NOT the salary of Congress. They "retire multi-millionaires" because of the lobbying they do AFTER congress, if we have lobbying reform we can cut that crap right off.
Term limits is a dreadful idea, one the founders very much opposed. Again, we need campaign finance reform, NOT term limits, which throw out the good AND the bad.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 No, it absolutely IS NOT "always good to see incumbents lose", it's often a real disaster. The millionaire who bought Feingold's seat in Wisconsin is a perfect example.
What should be raised, their taxes? Yeah, the taxes on the wealthy SHOULD be raised considerably.
You're worrying about your retirement, while there are people who don't know where their next meal is coming from or how they're going to get treatment for their child's disease, the priorities are dead wrong.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I agree that there are a lot of good politicians, but it's refreshing to see some new faces. Most wealthy people are on a power trip too. Who knows, someday we may have a billionaire President. Retirement is only a dream right now.....I'd like to retire with good health and favorable circumstances. I'll probably end up just another poor old SOB.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 It's great to have new faces IF they're the right new faces. The way to do this is with aggressive campaign and finance reform, not to force out good legislators that the people WANT just to get "new faces". Term limits have been an unmitigated disaster in most state houses and senates.
ALL people should be able to retire in favorable circumstances, and all people of ANY age should have decent health care. There should be no poor old SOB's.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 In an ideal society everyone would have plenty of everything...I'm for that. But we all know life is a rat race and we have to struggle sometimes. I think about the jobless, homeless, poor, and wonder how people can survive. We really need a booming economy with many good paying jobs to offset our nations' decline.
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@79goldmaster1 We have to struggle ONLY because we've been fooled into thinking if we struggle enough we can be better off, while we know from the past this won't happen.
The problem is "We'll get better jobs if the economy is 'booming'" is used to excuse the whole rich-get-richer thing, Reagan LIED with his trickle down bullshit. CONSUMERS WITH SPENDING POWER create jobs, not wealthy people. Fewer poor people will make the economy boom.
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 President Obama was a welcome addition to our political arena. Reagan also inspired people in 1980. When a career politician at 85 years old works in a factory like me, or understands the problems of living in poverty, they will get my support. I see people struggling every day , just to get by. Why should we embrace some multi-millionaire career politician who doesn't understand the working class? I welcome all new faces in Congress.
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Well, I'm getting a little weary of Obama's sell-outs, he inspired people with the idea of change then turned out to be not much different from the guys before him. Reagan inspired nothing but nausea with me, I knew long before most people outside of Cali every heard of him how awful his agenda was. The politicians don't have to live in poverty to understand it, Bernie Sanders being a perfect example. We'll never get a congress member who's on food stamps, unfortunately.
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 President Obama stood firm for the working class with unemployment extensions. That will probably get him my vote in 2012.
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 You're right.....A member of Congress to be on food stamps would probably need about 80 children to qualify. And with John Edwards around...who knows? Seriously , I think Reagan would have ended almost all entitlement programs had he the chance. He even got the income tax put on unemployment insurance. That was a real slap in the face for laid off workers.
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Reagan's vicious attacks on the poor are still a part of the national vernacular, this horsecrap of "welfare mothers driving new cars" is still everywhere.
It's a shame John Edwards turned out to be such a lowlife in real life, he was the only candidate taking poverty seriously from either party in decades. He'd have made a good president if not for his damn zipper problem.
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 John Edwards didn't need to be in politics. He is just another lawyer screwing everyone he can...and a power hungry one at that!
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I totally agree about decent wages. It's bad when you're considered lucky to get a job at Wal-Mart or McDonalds. In the town where I reside, there are many empty industrial buildings where people used to work. It's sad that these buildings housed many decent paying jobs. Now they're just another reminder of an economy that's turning into a cesspool of entitlement junkies.
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 The ideal work situation is when companies have to compete with each other paying more and more for the best workers. And plentiful jobs create a demand for that. Now, a company can expect to pay people less because of the abundance of persons out of work. Like I said earlier..I'd be more than happy to work on a garbage truck for good benefits, decent pay and nice retirement plan.
79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@79goldmaster1 No, the ideal work situation is when all people are paid a decent wage and can also have a life away from work. We have people out of work, and companies are paying less and less as a result, robbing from workers more and more and exploiting their desperation to maximize profits. There's nothing ideal about it at all.

79goldmaster1 4 months ago

79goldmaster1 4 months ago
@79goldmaster1 That's a fine notion in general, but it's not remotely practical. I've never met a member of Congress who couldn't make more in private industry, and you're not going to get better government by driving them away. The whole "$300 haircut" thing remains mostly myth, they do make a good deal of money but that's not where the problem lies. I'd rather see reform of campaign finance than just making the legislators poorer, increasing the chance of bribery problems
PrisonerNumber9653 4 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 My argument for term limits also involves age. An eighty year old cannot make 100% rational decisions. I feel it's ridiculous that there have been even some 90 year olds in Congress. This makes no sense at all. I believe Reagan was too old in his second term and McCain shouldn't have even been running.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago

79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 "efficiency" meaning "give the rich more tax cuts by firing people and gutting services people need."
This moronic bullshit that the problem with our nation is that the president doesn't travel coach and drive a 15 year old Datsun is insane. To much spent on military madness, and taxes WAY too low and too many goodies for big corporations is the problem, not this "entourage to India" that right wing hate radio tried to turn into a news story, which is wasn't.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 One thing is certain; everyone can't work for the government. And with the country broke , who will pay the pensions? I've witnessed companies downsizing for years. A 25% cut across the board would be tough, but needed. Do you realize it takes 1 million government employees to give away all the grants, loans, entitlements, etc. I'm not talking career soldiers, I'm talking people sitting on their asses giving away our tax money!
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 There's no reason everyone can't of course, but I'm not talking about everyone working for the government, I'm saying the reason we've got such an unemployment problem is the major cuts to these programs, restoring those would not ONLY employ hundreds of thousands but reduce the suffering of those served by the programs, win win.
A 25 percent cut would not "be tough" it would be insane.
Yeah, and that those programs not ONLY help people but employ them is a GOOD thing.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Those people do NOT "sit on their asses" they're working like anyone else. And they're not just "giving away our tax money" there is a REASON people get this money. It puts poor people into better housing. It educates our kids. It keeps the heat turned on in the middle of January in Buffalo. There's a REASON for it. This hate of all public servants is not only nasty, it's incredibly destructive. We saw in Oklahoma City the conclusion of hate of all government.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 The government programs are really helpful for a lot of people....but couldn't they give it away with 750,000 employees? Through the years I've seen one good secretary do the work of three average ones.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 I seriously have no idea what on earth you're saying here. None at all. Give what away? What on earth is the deal with "good secretaries"?

@PrisonerNumber9653 I meant perform the same duties with less personel. Every profitable company stresses this, and if you don't agree ,they show you the door. It's not always pleasant, but this does happen.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago

79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I've never made an in depth study of Federal Retirement...But personal experiences reveal a nice livable pension plus great healthcare benefits for retirees. Everyone should be blessed with bountiful retirements, but unfortunately that's not the case.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Well, I have, and those people EARN those benefits. They EARNED that right, people DIED for it. They get better benefits because they get less in pay. We spend TRILLIONS on war-making and empire building and mass murder, and you want to take the money NOT from that, but from old people who served this nation and it's people with honor their whole life.
It's not the case that retirees have a secure retirement because of GREED, you act like it can't be changed. It can. Easily.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Poverty is a viscious cycle. I feel if current programs are updated to current needs , we can diminish a large portion of the nations' poor. But the problem remains; where will all these people work? Jobs are scarce. I'm totally for the working man or woman. Companies put so much stress on workers...faster....more....faster....more....you are too slow, you're fired! Then you go back to first base and start over.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 You're right, the ideal some have of every able-bodied person working isn't remotely possible with the increasing "efficiency". All these technologies were SUPPOSED to make our lives easier, remember? When machines did more work, everyone was supposed to have more free time. But corporate greed killed that. If we had a living wage and a 30 hour work week for everyone we COULD have full employment. The only other way is major investment in public projects.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Helping others reach ambitions is an excellent ambition! Sometimes we need a guidance counselor troughout life. Many make mistakes or are just undecided about their future. Even me, at 50, may be changing jobs soon. Factory work gets old after 31 years .
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Absolutely, and that's one of the biggest problems we have is that a huge percentage of Americans cannot hope to have any kind of choice. I bet factory work would suck about...well, for me about a day and a half, for practically anyone 31 years would be a killer. People SHOULD be able to pursue what they're passionate about and good at. Some of the most brilliant musicians and artists I've known had no time to work on their art, they had to go paint houses to feed their kids.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I've never been a demonstrator, agitator, or much of a hell raiser. I do that in the voting booth. I would like to see everyone : employed, content, drug free, and most of all, succeeding in their lifes' ambition .
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 I'd love to see everyone employed, that will NEVER happen. We've developed too much technology and "efficiency", the ONLY way that happens is with MORE public projects, and we're cutting and cutting and cutting them. The only OTHER way is a 30 hour work week with a living wage, and we're moving in the OPPOSITE direction. Content? Not until there's economic justice instead of the wealthy hoarding it all. "Drug free"? We need more treatment for the hard stuff, legalize the rest.

79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 I was put on the earth to try to make things BETTER for people. It's not "intrusive" to feed children or get housing to the homeless, help people see a doctor when they're sick or educate our next generations. It's not "intrusive" to prevent factories from poisoning us all.
We should just shut up and "live by the rules"? Would you tell Rosa Parks that? Martin Luther King?
YEAH, most of the laws passed benefit the corporations and banks, THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING!
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 This is what I've been saying for YEARS, you're just confirming it, that a HUGE percentage of the people who babble this right wing stuff THINK they're doing the right thing, THINK they're helping the little guy against the big guy. But in your bunkum about "smaller and less intrusive government" you're doing the dirty work for those corporations and banks! THEY are the ones who want smaller and "less intrusive" government!

@agata521 I agree that there should be thousands more executions in the U.S. Even white collar crimes like Bernie Madoff, etc. But it has never been a perfect system. The small number of executions receive way too much publicity. It's sad for all involved in criminal cases...especially the victim.

@79goldmaster1 Murder is not justice.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Murder is a capital offence for which ultimate justice is the death penalty. I feel strongly that there is some good in everyone...even serial killers. But society cannot deny the safety of its' law abiding citizens and must incarcerate dangerous criminals. Sadly, death row inmates must wait years for their ultimate fate. Justice should be swift.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 It's a despicable LIE to call murder "justice". The death penalty is NOT justice, it is cold-blooded murder. It does NOTHING to make "law-abiding citizens" the SLIGHTEST bit safer.
Justice should be SWIFT? My GOD you are just SICK! It's bad enough we murder people, now you want them murdered FASTER! We have HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of cases of innocent people being put to death, you want MORE by limiting appeals? That's barbaric.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 And it's not "barbaric" for criminals to rape, rob, stab, beat, and murder innocent citizens? It's sad that these worthless criminals are not executed by the thousands . We would live in a much safer society.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 My kids were about 3 when they learned that "He did it FIRST!!" wasn't an excuse for inexcusable behavior. To say it's OK for our SOCIETY to be barbaric because of individual acts makes no sense at all. NOBODY is saying we should reward crime, of course. But it's a vile LIE to say people who commit crimes are "worthless", no human life is worthless.
And the only people who thought executions by the thousands are appropriate are people like Hitler. We would NOT be safer. At all.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 thanks for your comment...you are liberal and I'm conservative. I am compassionate when it comes to poor people, handicapped people, one parent families, sick and old....But cold blooded murderers deserve no compassion or leniency. Just because someone is sorry doesn't make the criminal act any less severe. Firm and quick punishment is needed for all violent crimes and even some white collar crimes. That's my belief. Race shouldn't be a factor.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 ANY person deserves compassion, they are human beings. I'm not saying let them roam free, but there are far more humane ways to keep them from killing more people. The BEST is preventing the crimes in the first place, if we eliminate poverty and vastly increase educational opportunities, we KNOW this would dramatically reduce crime. We could also very easily reduce crime by getting rid of the drug prohibition laws which cause costs to skyrocket, it's where all the gang money began
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I feel major drug dealers and violent gang members should be executed too. Being poor is no excuse for violence. There is something called WORK! Get a job...work hard...pull yourself up. Stay away from drugs and be focused. Eventually it will pay off.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 Excuses for violence? You're talking about murdering people, then talk about violence? What hypocrisy! Poverty and crime go hand in hand, always have and always will. When we address poverty, crime will go down. Instead, you just want to wait until it happens, and kill more people, leading to more violence.
Work? Go fuck yourself. The poor are not "lazy", they are victims of a system designed for the rich to get richer, and the poor to get screwed. "Pull yourself up" my ass.
PrisonerNumber9653 5 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 You can get college grants and loans, scholarships. Free lunch and breakfast programs in school. Food stamps, medicaid...the list goes on. A millionaire is poor to a billionaire.
79goldmaster1 5 months ago
@79goldmaster1 "Grants and loans and scholarships" don't cover EITHER all the costs OR the loss of income. Lunch and breakfast programs in school are badly underfunded and being cut all the time, and don't do anything in the summer or weekend.
The poor have more programs than the middle class? We have MILLIONS without enough to eat.
Quit complaining? Fuck you. I will be cold and dead before I stop complaining about the insane injustice and inequality in our nation.

You should be ashamed for protecting a murderer!!!
bluebirdremus 2 years ago
did you see him do it??? for all we know, you could've been the murderer, bigot!!!
blacflower1 2 years ago
Also, the police never even went looking for the murder weapon at all, so there's nothing with Troy Davis's fingerprints, DNA, nothing. Several of the witnesses who recanted said that they didn't see Troy with the gun. The guy they saw with the gun was the one who went running to the police department to turn Troy in and who also later confessed to several people in private that he was the one who did the shooting.

This is BS. 7 of 9 witnesses have changed their story. There is a good chance they are killing a innocent man. They need to hear his appeal!!!
