  • I like Sacrifice, and I like Rush, but they just don't match...

  • screamo??? douchbags? losers?? ahahahaah hahahahaahaah ignorant !!

  • only screamo douchebags could possibly massacre such an awsome song so badly. well done losers

  • @ty2569 I would imagine screamo douchebags would massacre this song. But this band are thrash metal legends from the 1980s, and they did a great job taking their own spin on this composition.

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THIS

  • I wish SACRIFICE would do a whole album of covers.....THIS TUNE RULES....SACRIFICE forever

  • Fucking bad ass cover.

  • Killer cover by a killer band. This rules

  • vocals killed the whole damn song fuck this

  • This is not screamo dude. This is thrash metal.

  • im probs one of the biggest rush fans and this is kinda good its just the screamo which i HATE

  • Urbinati vocals FTW!

  • IS THAT THE SAME SINGER? he must be gettin old

  • this was on of the first vinyls I got, I only started collecting them a couple weeks ago

  • Sacrifice kick ass. Proud Canadians!

I salute them for doing their own interpretation and not a carbon copy like so many bands do..

  • crappy guitar sound, way too much distortion you can even hear the notes, and the vocals? gowd you guy just plain suck.

  • Love Rush and love this version, but the original one is better.

  • Sacrifice is one of my all time favorite bands. I think they raped this song. It kicked ass, no doubt!!

  • I noticed something coincidental. both this album and rush's fly by night (the album that the original song is on) have owls on them.

  • @shortwinger3

And the EP for "Technocracy" has that oil drum on it.

  • Eww... You can't even hear the bass which is always prominent in Rush songs...

  • @throwsand Come on now, few people can play like Geddy Lee. You have to let that slide. I think this is an awesome cover.

  • First time I've been able to listen to the whole song. This isn't supposed to be the original...it's a metalized cover. These guys take their music seriously. Nothing is half assed. I'm not a fan of thrash metal but it has grown on me....I really don't have a choice. :)

  • @AmylRico...Ha ha!! You must be a member of Joe's family...Give him a big "Hellzyeah!" from NL, and to keep thrashin'! 'The Ones I Condemn' was a killer comeback record, and I hope it's not the last! Cheers!

  • I always told people that Anthem was like a precursor to thrash metal, especially Alex's guitar parts...now look at this! That song was ahead of it's time in 1975. These dudes got the early metal vibe from Anthem as well, awesome!! Not usually a huge fan of this kind of music, but these guys know what they're doing 100%. They ever cover any other 70's music?

  • I love Rush. And I love Sacrifice. but Iunno if I like the vocals on this cover. XD The restk icks ass though.

  • nice! everyone who has the balls to cover RUSH kick ass!

comments about the sound or vocals are out of order..you need to be very ignorant expecting a trash band vocals sounding like Lee's vocals..that's some funny stuff..and there's nothing more boooring than a band trying to emulate the same sound and vocals on a cover song

  • Awesome cover for a such underrated thrash band

  • Are they serious with these vocals?

  • @BDizDaBest They have been for over twenty five years.

And, assuming you're a Rush fan, you must be used to hearing that question a lot, no?

  • @NeverTheSame BWAAAA HAA HAA HAAAAAA!! Well done sir! No disrespect to Rush, but Geddy's vox ARE a little hard to take at times. And Sacrifice f**king rule!! \m/

  • @NeverTheSame - u h yeah - Geddy can be high pitched, like Plant, but this guy sounds like he is choking and / or possessed by the f*ckin devil...just sayin....LOL

  • @BDizDaBest lol....yeah they are and they covered this song because they like it, not so some Rush fan(you) would like it!! lol

  • this is awesome.

  • I lol @ all these comments going on about how the vocals "suck" when clearly it's better than they could ever do.

It's a metal cover. It's not supposed to be soft. L2Metal please...

  • Torment And Fire, Forward To Termination, Soldiers Of Misfortune, Apocalypse Inside, The Ones I Condemn. These guys progress as Musicians with every album they have ever released.Without a doubt the best Thrash Metal band to ever come from Canada. Perhaps the Global scene of Metal. Forward, Soldiers, and their newest and possibly best, The Ones I Condemn should be considered as classics in the Metal Diet!

  • I have been a rush fan for far enough that when someone does a cover song of the High Priests of rock it has to deliver....this does and i like it whenever someone crosses over to another genre to compliment a certain group that is great! But there are some covers that go poopy doo!!This one rocks smoothly with diabolical vocals!!

  • When this song came in 74 or 75 in was hands down the heaviest thing around, so I think this a nice modern tribute.

  • excellent, well executed.

  • not a bad cover and i think the vocals are fine, it's THEIR cover, not a carbon copy of the original. i wouldn't say that geddy lee's voice is cool nor that he's a good singer either. to each their own.

  • haha i love the cover! awesome homage to fly by night / technocracy

  • Gus Pynn is an awesome drummer.

  • GUS RULES!

  • funny commentaries from people who don't know anything about the Canadian thrash masters Sacrifice...

  • That guy needs to learn to sing. i can see what he is going for i think, but it just isint working. could have been a good song, totly lame singing, is that singing? sounnds like he is constapated. Eat some fiber dude. try some bran and lay off the chezz

  • @FishChum Learn how to spell you lame fisherman! i want you to correctly spell each of these words 100 times "properly" (isn't) (totally) (sounds) (constipated) hehe and (cheese) hehe.....XD

  • Holy fuck! This kicks some motherfucking ass!

  • Rush fan for 25 years.. and I think this is bad ass. I bet Alex digs it, he's into metal.

  • The start of the song sounded promising but once the vocals came in, the song was completely ruined.

Great to hear this "metal" arrangement of the old Rush classic. Music-wise, it's quite good, but the vocals just ruin the song.

  • That's cool!!

  • awesome track, but yeah, vocals sux

  • this is so awesome.

i bet rush would luv this insanity.

  • this is so awesome.

  • This totally rules. Heavy guitars! The vocals are different from Rush but rule!

  • I don't really care for the guitar tone and the vocals are god awful.

  • That's alright, you're entitled to your opinion. Personally, I think this is brilliant, and many others agree. If you don't, there's plenty more music out there that you may prefer. Cheers!

  • That is an excellent cover. Gotta pick something up with this on it...

  • This song is also on the Canadian CD version of "The Ones I Condemn". It is the Canadian only bonus track.

  • good but the vocals just kill it i hate this screaming crap bands do nowadays

  • @kfsfkakf Nowadays? Sacrifice have been around for over 25 years.

  • @NeverTheSame ok i didnt know that and plus 2 me the vocals dont sound rite with this kind of song

  • @NeverTheSame well i didnt know that but i still think the vocals are bad i just dont like screaming vocals. watever happened to singing?

  • @kfsfkakf Lots of people are still singing, some people choose a different route. But you should acknowledge that there is a difference between something being bad, and just something you aren't a fan of. I'm not a fan of yodelling, but I wouldn't say a yodeller was a bad singer just because of that.

There's plenty of music in the world, some people enjoy this kind of music, some don't, and the great thing is, everyone can listen to whatever it is they prefer listening to!

  • @kfsfkakf

Nowadays? Really? You are clearly confusing SACRIFICE with something of these shitty new-...something. SACRIFICE are around for 25 years! And guess what? They were also screaming back then!

    Absolutely amazing cover!

  • Oh my goodness....... This is just... WOW

    O.o

  • fuck yeah !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • beautiful

  • Two of Canada's best, in one song!

  • @seantalarico Fuck ya
